Driver 2 - Chicago - Survival with 18 wheelers and "no sky barrier" cheat

Tanner dirving and flying in one of the Chicago 18 wheelers from the mission "Caine's compound" while being chased by more trucks. But only 4 can move in this mode, so I needed to replace the rest with vans.
Driver 2 version 1.1 played in the emulator Duckstation 0.1.5485 gc66a57273 (dev)

How did you make driver 2 run that smooth?

In the emulator ePSXe 2.0.5 I had selected "Options", then put the "CPU overclocking" at 4x. Although this option makes me more dependent on saved states because Driver 2 cannot recognize memory cards when CPU overclocking is above 1.5x.
