As a romanian, I can tell that the population is decreasing by birth/death rate, but also because of people leaving the country. 5 million people left the country because of corruption and because they wanted a better life in other wealthier parts of Europe. And now it comes to the value of right of the sentence: we are proud of this country 60-70% of what it is as a place(I mean the geography, the nature, just a bit of its history, the people that inhabit this land) but the rest we are proud of what the government done for it along the time, the remaining 30-40% and some things we are proud the government did for us is from the communist Era. The present 30 years old one is pretty crappy, I mean SH*T! Others did lots of good stuff for their people and focused on efficiency, ours did nothing in many places where they should have and were very unsuccessful on achieving progress in stuff like education, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism like in the West and conserving the nature and reducing the pollution.

The thing in the country is that old people are dying,yet the birth rates are up by 10k since 2014.
"It's a country that's all about preserving its history " I wish that was true .. but far from it sadly.
Romania is very good at preserving historical cities.
There are strict rules against it, you can't even use modern architecture in historical parts of Transylvania. That's why cities like Sighisoara, Sibiu, Brasov give this medieval vibe so well.
The villages are another topic. There everyone built whatever they wanted for too long time, but this starts to change now since the corruption is decreasing.

The narrative is more on history than what the country looks like. Nothing much about the capital, Bucharest, nor other cities. No introduction to the people, nor about the land or its economy. In the next episode you could talk about the town of oradea. At one point in history the 0 meridian passed trough it. It also has the 2 largest baroque buildings in romania and it s the only city in romania that is part of the art nouveau circle. The first written account of it is said to be from the 12 th century, also it has a really cool fortress , where the medieval festival is held every year. I am romanian and this is my home town . Another thing that makes it popular it s the location of the city. It s close to "Baile felix" and other spots that have thermal activity . Hope it s helpful

Every time I watch a video about Romania all I see in the comments is romanians correcting about a word pronounced wrong in the video or correcting what those people say in their video in general. That instead of being thankful because that person took some time from his/her life to study your country and make a video about it. Of course they don't know everything you know about your country, or have the same pronunciacion because they weren't born there. (I'm romanian as well)

The city of Sighisoara has the only citadel in europe that has people living in it.
Mostly all the transylvanian cities have people living in citadel, especially the saxon ones.
The citadel still exists in cities like Sibiu, Brasov, Bistrita, even Cluj(yet only a part of the old defense wall still exist).

Im Romanian .one thing you forgot / didnt know or didnt mention is that in Romania there is a city called Timisoara witch was the first city in Europe to be iluminated by electric light , then theres the Devil's lake , the sphinx , the hags (babele) those are mountain monoliths. all made out of wind formation.Then theres the fact that in Romania was the first ever horse carried tram in Europe allsaw in Timisoara.
