I had that what you had happen to the Land Rover. I put the kit up, and forgot about it. When the kit resurfaced almost 15 years later, I sanded and repainted the body, and it came out spectacular! (its the AC Cobra build on my channel) Moral of the story, you can always fix what you mess up. Just give it time (although dont wait almost two decades like I did!)
Awesome review in general on certain types of kits, this will be very helpful to any new person to the hobby or anyone who may be on a strict budget and can only pick up a kit or two per month. Keep up the great content!
Very good video! I have built a few of the kits your profiled and they were good kits, especially the Oldsmobile 3 in 2 kit. Just picked up the Dodge Charger kit and can't wait to build it!
Great video! I think the Retro Deluxe kits are just throw backs of when those kits were originally made. They're nice kits but need extra effort to finish them. I'm working on two Broncos right now. Anyways Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed your quick reviews. That 1953 Ford pickup is one of my all time favorites, especially because of all the diorama/tools that come with it. I've built the Cameo several times, but never built the pickup part. I've built it as a wrecker, a custom semi style race car hauler, and a flatbed. Maybe someday I should build it as a Cameo just for the fun of the frustration. LOL I have to be careful of the 1964 Olds Cutlass models, because they seem to be addictive. I just can't seem to not buy them when I see them. Thanks for your video. I did subscribe.
Thank you! I sounded like a grumpy old man talking about the Cameo I know lol. I'm gonna have to do a review of it. It's one of my favorites in my collection with all the challenges it gave me. lol
That GMC Jimmy might be a challenge. It's an old tool, from about 1970, and it wasn't engineered as good as other kits. The engineering matters a lot -- that AMT '53 Ford kit is an even older tooling (from around 1963) but it goes together better than the Jimmy. As for Revell, I'm really looking forward to their new-tool 1971 Mustang kit. We've needed one of those for a long time and the Revell kit looks excellent.
Good assessment of the kits. I really like the Revell Special edition kits. I also like the old school AMT 3 in 1 or "trophy" series kits. The 53 Ford pick up you show is 1 of my favorites. It is loaded with a ton of optional parts. Keep having fun with the hobby.
🏍️ I find myself working on models that are 'easily replaced' and putting in a holding pattern those that have disappeared and therefore increased in value to me. Where are all the Revell 63 & 64 Impalas ? The Revell 70 Chevelle ? I washed the paint off my 59 Cadillac 'cus i know i'll never see another.
Really nice kits, 👌 I honestly dont have a favorite company i think the model is as good as you make it no matter how bad the mold is.. Also i got your shopcard today brother..thanks..i hope mine get there soon, i sent my last friday.
Thanks for this video mate. Unfortunately we pay a lot more here in Australia for these kits but that doesn't stop me keeping an eye out for bargains and snapping them up when they come along. To me, AMT, despite their inherent problems are by far my favourites. Nostalgia thing maybe but I love 'em.
What do you think about the mobius kids? I built a couple of those and have been pleased. I'm currently building the 41 Plymouth, out of the Coca-Cola collection, and I'm finding a lot of flashing.
I wouldnt give up one Revell or Mobius kit for 10 AMT kits. I just threw a 66 nova pro street by AMT back in the box and swore it was my last ...junk !
All of the Revell kits I have built since I came back into modeling have been great kits, but I’ve built the AMT ‘50 Chevrolet 3100 truck and the ‘71 Plymouth Duster, which were great kits. The AMT ‘67 Mustang GT-350 is a good kit too. Thanks for sharing.
Great video and information! I've primarily been building AMT kits but have recently dove into revell and the quality is definitely better. Thanks for an outstanding review.
All good kits and I've got mixed feelings with the kit manufacturer's.. Some kits are really nice and some are just REALLY GARBAGE.. My JIMBO GMC JIMMY was all twisted up and the plastic being used now on about all the models is way too soft.. Great video MAN, I agree with you on these kits 😎👍
Every kit is different, even those in the same series. The Jimmy dates from the early 1970s while the ‘55 Cameo is 1991 tooling and the 53 F100 first came out in 1963. If you don’t know the history of such kits it’s a case of researching to see what people who’ve built them think. And consider someone who’s been building for a year or two will have a different skill set to someone who’s built for 20 years. Some kits have had inbuilt problems for decades, some builders are willing and able to fix them, some aren’t. But it’s a very apples and oranges comparison. 😉
I love them all. That’s why the first comment I made at the beginning of the video was this was not a comparison, just great kits to be on the lookout for from both companies.
Great Vid!I prefer Spec Ed over Retro, bec retro is old kits in "new boxes" with a liitel goods(like pad printed tires and decalsheet)The rest of the Retos is old kits in new boxes!
I've heard the same thing from other people about the kit. I'm so used to it lol. I just try to make the kit better than how I found it. The worst kit for me so far has been the 70 1/2 Camaro by AMT. That one needs some work.

You have a lot of great kits to build ahead of you!!!
I am a huge fan of the special edition revell kits. I always buy em when I can. Thanks for the post.
Great choices 👍🏿
Nice heads up! Great information, I'll definitely look for those identifiers when I'm looking to add to my stash. Thanks for the video 😎👍
I agree with a lot of your choices. I love those revell kits. With amt the new stuff is great.
awesome collection of some cool kits !!
Nice kits in your stash. I'll be watching
If my stash were not so large, I'd get the Revell C7-R. It's frequently on sale at HL.
Will do!
Hey there, Chris here..........great video on these kits.......the T.V. show with Chip Foose was Overhaulin'..........great show!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t believe I drew a blank on the show as much as I used to watch it 🤦🏾♂️🤣
I've had a couple of self-inflicted problems with the '53 Ford. I should take that back out and fix it.
Same here!!!!, I thought it was ME!
This has to be the most useful video I’ve seen from any content creator in a long time! Excellent work putting this together 👍
Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback.

🤣 I won’t. I’ll pull it back out and get to building.

Thank you! I got work to do with kit building 🤣 I want to build all of them now!
Very informative video Edgar ❤
I really appreciate your feedback! 💯🙌🏾
Great video on some good kits to grab 🤙🏼
Very good video! I have built a few of the kits your profiled and they were good kits, especially the Oldsmobile 3 in 2 kit. Just picked up the Dodge Charger kit and can't wait to build it!
Cool, thanks! Have fun with the Charger! Mopar
Good summary and observation. I'm always playing catch up with kits that go out of production. I do need to get one of those AMT 2021 Charger R/T😊
Thanks! AMT needs to pick up production. I want to build a wide body and scat pack too! 🤣💪🏾🙌🏾
Great video! I think the Retro Deluxe kits are just throw backs of when those kits were originally made. They're nice kits but need extra effort to finish them. I'm working on two Broncos right now. Anyways Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Some kits are a workout. No matter how many challenges I have during the build, I always feel a little watery eyed when I finish them. 🤣🙌🏾💪🏾

You Funny...
Made me giggle on 2021 Charger.. My problem often and also have now is the question.. What color? Always changing my mind..
Even when I’m locked in, I’ll change my mind 🤣🤣🤣
Thank god I’m not the only one that had problems with the back of the Coca-Cola cameo

Thanks! I think AMT offers old school kits no one else has.
What do you think about the mobius kids? I built a couple of those and have been pleased. I'm currently building the 41 Plymouth, out of the Coca-Cola collection, and I'm finding a lot of flashing.
I've never built a Mobius kit. Definitely going to put it on the build list!
I wouldnt give up one Revell or Mobius kit for 10 AMT kits. I just threw a 66 nova pro street by AMT back in the box and swore it was my last ...junk !

@@oneteamgarage The Duster is a great kit.

Old pro nova, badman 55,Cherry Bomb or cop out ?? Didn't make the list ? Vandal or rodfather??
Great video! I would never pay more than $5 for some Foose designed vintage car destroying design. Everything else is good, Foose? No frikken way.

After this 2021 Bronco build, I’m done with AMT. I have way TOO MANY body fitment issues 👎

the AMT 40's Willys Gasser Coke truck has horrible instructions, and the worst mold lines i have ever seen
