facts. between KEXP, AudioTree, KCRW, Wync radio, etc. there are so many amazing bands to find and go see thanks to these video channels constantly showing them to us
I'm an 80s baby and I grew up with MTV constantly playing music. I'm utterly thankful for KEXP and all that they do for us who have that fire to find and love good music. They've been my go to for well over a decade now.. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without all of the hosts and artists 💚💓💚
I'm 58 years old and just happened to stumble across Roosevelt. I'm completely blown away. He is incredibly talented. His music has a fresh1980s pop flavor with a Nile Rodgers-esk guitar jam and a great bass/drum beat well suited for club dancing. I'm instantly transported back to that younger man who loved to club and dance during the 80's. My wife and I used to go clubbing every weekend. It was a blast. Marius provided me with a vehicle to travel back in time where life was simpler and youth seemed to have a special naivety that protected us from the evils of life. Those were fun times and I wanted to thank Marius for the pleasant trip thru the past. I love his music, he is Incredible
Talent or what ? I’m 67 years old and kept young by my son, and his choice of music. Always loved Jazz Funk and now House Music ( Tom Misch, SG Lewis etc ) This lad should be huge, and great that he has collaborated with the wonderful Nile Rodgers Continued Success- Simply Fantastic 😀👍😀👍
Honestly the majority of songs preformed by artists on KEXP sound better than the studio version of their songs.? KEXPs engineers are always on point, but when they are working with an artist that really loves their trade the outcome is this..!! A flawless performance that sounds better than the original songs.!
The sound out of that room is better than any recording studio but Kexp's sound engineers are always on point and bands like Roosevelt turn up super early to get the sound perfect before going live. So it's a big team effort but the results are amazing..!! Most artists songs sound better in KEXPs studio than on their albums.?
@@stefanheiler2329 I think there's vocal processing too, quite a bit, but that doesn't detract from a great performance :) Fits the style to have effects there
He's likely running this through a DAW with automation. There are also definitely many points ie; "Strangers" where there are pre-recorded backups. The "live" bass is also very questionable.
@@Nirvanablue89 Exactly, can confirm that seeing him live his set very much has prerecorded elements and his vocals are 100% processed (which is a part of his sound anyways). Either way his live show is legit as dialed as this and it HITS edit: Here his bassist is likely a god session guy and playing, at my live show in Toronto he didn't have a fulltime bassist. He had a keys/bass guy who wasn't as quality as this guy
I think he is becoming my favorite artist now. This guy is mix between Daft punk, Bee Gees and The Weeknd. It’s absolutely insane !!! So smooth so amazing to my ears
I'm very proud to say that this is my favorite band right now. Marius, I mean what more can anyone say? What a cool guy. He's chill, kind, very humble and has no ego, just an all out cool guy. He's awesome! P.S. Loved your hosting Eva! You're brilliant. xo
tengo casi 54 y he encontrado esta musica y me gusto mucho, los tengo en mi play list de favoritos, Que alegria encontrar esto....de verdad una gran manera de empezar un hermoso dia y con audifonos ...una maravilla...!!!!!!
He's my hero for some odd reason, but his musical approach is so great. He's such a perfectionist, doing almost everything himself, it always sounds like a hommage to classics
that bass tone is fire 🔥. Saw Marius perform at the Fonda Theater in L.A and I can tell you that you will enjoy your time at his shows. You get to witness passion in his music as he sweats and goes from instrument to instrument . Your body can’t help but to move to the beat of his music. Roosevelt is great!
I live in KC and have had to travel for each tour/show. Echo in LA in 2016, Philly and NYC in 2017, San Diego in 2019, and Chicago at the end of last year. The 2017 shows and the last tour were probably his best shows. Young Romance wasn't as good as his debut but Polydans was very good and he had a great mix of songs, though I miss hearing personal faves like Wait Up, Hold On, and Teardrops. Hope someday the central part of the country gets graces with more than a few shows.
This and his set for T-Mobile like 10 years ago showcase his crazy talent development and especially production together they are honestly some of the best live sets on UA-cam.
You've gotta be one of the most relevant/complicated/talented composers of the last decade. Your music is so deep, so accessible. Anyone can enjoy it. Thank you. I know, it's a little melodramatic.
Feels so right to have Marius and the boys back again on KEXP. Having just clicked on this afternoon to witness 124 comments left here there is clearly a lot of love and affection for Roosevelt. Welcome back!
Just discovered Roosevelt today and am absolutely stunned! The music and the arrangements are so damn beautiful that I wanna cry. Thank you for being on this planet! Love and light from a crazy synth and sax lover in Thailand🇹🇭 ❤️☀️🏖🌴🥥🐘

It is very rare that an artist's live performances are as-good as their studio recordings. Roosevelt is one of those artists. Incredible!
Very tru, I saw them in Concert and it was flawless
The mixing engineer needs a raise.
Literally one of the most underrated artists ever ❤️
