First of all, thank you for sharing so much and that it is a great help, great channel, secondly if you can clarify a question I have, connecting a single GPU (MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO 10GB GDDR6X) to the motherboard. TB250-BTC Version 6.x, is it necessary to put a riser or directly to the PCB of the board? Thank you !!!
@@AlansInventions Thanks for your quick response, I am following your videos to build an identical RIG, same components but without box for now, your channel is a very good channel and a great help, will you make video if you add more GPUs? In case of adding a second GPU, which riser would it be? Thank you !!
Hi - No problem. It doesn't really matter which one you plug it into. You're OS will automatically detect it. If you're using HiveOS there is an identify feature that spins the fans one by one to correlate the cards to which number they were assigned. My case is unique, I haven't seen many like it and I got it for like $50 USD. Unfortunately the manufacturer stopped making them 😕
I am getting my first one. A gigabyte 3060. From what I read online it should be around 55-60 MH/s. Too many data points on power, however I did read it's the most efficient. I will probably put out a new video shortly once I get the last card. I'll have a couple of 3080s, 1 3070 and 1 3060. I estimate around 305-310 MHs and about 820 watts at the wall.
@@AlansInventions Thanks for the response! I’m actually in the process of building a mining rig as well. I got a hold of my first rtx 3080. Can’t wait to see your final results!
It is profitable to mine right now even with a high electricity cost if you have already paid for your hardware. In my case I have to wait to recover my upfront investement. If I mine that long and it's still possible. If it doesnt work out I will have a 3080 to game on :)
Solar may be good option for this, I could see myself doing this with a couple 200 Watt solar panels, batteries, an inverter and a shed. However I dont think that will fit in my office and is probably against apartment rules.
I rarely go over my power budget usually under and im not even mining on a super efficient setup just from my PC with optimized GPU performance for mining. On a 6800xt I have made like 15$ passively in 3 days with the miner on and off, an efficient rig will be very profitable right now
Yes I was hoping to find a couple more 3080s but I have been very unsuccesful. The listing I ended up winning when I made this video actually was a scam...I am disputing with ebay now and went and bought another one just so I could complete this 3 part mini series I wanted to do on mining. :( cost me about $1,300 bucks.
what would you pick between buying a mining PC for 1800$ and in 3 years until the next halving you would have 2500$ profit OOOR buying bitcoin/ether for 1800$ and in 2024 they will worth more than 2500$?
i have the same board. did you have issues getting the cards to detect i\on it? mine wont detect any cards. i have a rtx ftw3 ultra and 3060ti ining right now on my pc.
Hey getting back to you I had no issues what so ever with the first card (3080) the second one was a bit finicky and I had to update the drivers on HiveOS. We're you able to figure out your issue?
@@AlansInventions no I had a faulty board so waiting on a different one. I am using my pc now. Just bought another card now too so I have my 3080 and 2- 3060ti now. Adding new cards every month now.

Hello. Thank you for the feedback. If you are only using 1 GPU it is not required 😊

Awesome video, I think you deserve way more subs
Hey thanks :) I was just wondering if I should continue making videos or not...
@@AlansInventions I was actually wondering how much MHs you can get with 4 RTX 3060s

Where did you buy your motherboard? I can’t find one for that price. Good luck with the build!
Thanks! I am about to pickup my 5th GPU! I bought it back in December off amazon. I see them now and they are super marked up!

Is there still money to be had doing this ? Last I heard power cost overtook the values. Using solar is a option ?
