FIRST TME LISTENING| George Thorogood - Bad to the Bone | Reaction
The LFR Family, LLC.
~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~
This is one of the songs I don't know how folk in the US haven't heard. It's in a bunch of movies including Terminator 2 as well. Cheers sir.
And MAJOR PAYNE staring Damon Wayans
One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer next from George.
I love George Thorogood!
I’ve seen him twice, years ago when we were both a lot younger.
Saw him back in 85.
You asked about the beat.- I think i comes from Bo Diddley, a blues artist. He was in this video; the black man in the white coat, black hat and black glasses who was the pool hustler. Also, the older guy, white hair and a suit with the tall girl walking with him- I think that was "Fast Eddie" Parker, a famous real life pool hustler. Paul Newman played him as "Fast Eddie Felson" in the movie the hustler. This song's got a great beat- try George "One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer".
Don't you see Bo Diddley in the pool hall? He's shooting pool with George.
When Thorogood covered Bo Diddley's "Who do you love?" He added a line to call out the "Bo Diddley Beat"
Not Fast Eddie, Willie Mosconi.
@@mrod7692 Got it. Correctomundo
I'm a year late to this so It's probably been said a dozen times already, but the older guy he plays pool against is Bo Diddley, a blues legend and one of George Thorogood's musical influences as a kid. It's really cool that he agreed to make this video and to let George beat him. Thorogood has never really made it huge in the mainstream but he has a huge following and the respect of many other artists. I saw him recently and he's still rocking it, funny thing is that I live in a small city in country Australia and there was only about 2,000-3,000 people at the show, I sat about 3 rows back from the stage, he was amazing.
There's Bo Diddley in the pool hall!
Willie Mosconi is there too.
Yup...there's a few of em in there that are bad to the bone on the felt.
You are right. So many do not know that.
One of the most iconic bass in history! He’s a boss that’s bad…bad….
ya ought to check out his cover of bo diddly's who do you love (bo is this video. he's the cat with the cigar box guitar)
That was the theme song for my husband's company in the Army..82nd Airborne Infantry..we wives would have a bull horn set up so our men could hear Bad to the Bone as they were exiting the bus from a deployment...so exciting! This brought back some awesome memories! Thank you so much and good luck with finding a truck and fly that flag🇺🇸🇺🇸
I was HHC, 1/504th. Late 80s to the early 90s. Thank you for your husband's and your service. The wives also served.
In addition to everything else this was "the call to arms" for Al Bundy on the Married With Children TV show. When Al would "get on his muscle" and get ready to "solve a problem the old fashioned way, the show's producers would overdub the video with the first bars of this song.." Over the 10+ year period when the show was on cable TV, there were any number of times when this song and Al Bundy's paths crossed.
Thorogood's music is deeply rooted in classical blues, black blues. Heroes like John Lee Hooker, BB King, Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters. It is not about racism because good music makes us all the same. I am sure George has always celebrated the sound he grew up with- and this was mostly black music. I love him and his Destroyers, they can tear the roof down with their honest Rock'n'Roll and Blues. I am glad to see that the color of my skin does not matter all when I celebrate good music. Modern Hardrock and Metal would have never come to life without those black guitar heroes singing the real Blues. I wish I was b-b-b-baaaad to the bone!
Van hilarious reaction, did you notice that that was Bo Diddly he was playing pool against
If he's never heard of George, he probably doesn't have a clue about the great Bo Diddly
In memory of my high school FRIEND… John … he always sang this song beautiful blonde hair blue eyes… he was about 6-2 …. But killed himself over abuse from his dad! Broke all our hearts!! ❤️Tennessee
So sad.
Now that you've discovered George you need to do "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer"
This song is a GOAT songs!! Thanks Van!!
How bout that cameo from the legend Bo Diddley.. bad ass guitar player in his own right
I was gonna say the same thing. You got game when a legend is in your video.
If you saw Terminator 2: judgement Day they played this song after Schwarzenegger Terminator took the clothes and the motorcycle at the bar
Van, that song is from Muddy Waters, probably different arrangement here.
Popular song at male strip shows/bachelorette parties. ❤🔥
Didn't you even Notice Who he's play,n Pool wi ?! It's Bo Diddley man
Check out Muddy Waters and all of your questions will be answered.
Toyota Tundra, you can't go wrong. I get buying American, but they are made in Texas.
“I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.” -Terminator
after sound of the Winchester Lever-Action Shotgun : Can't let you take the man's wheels, son. Now, get off before I put you down.
Mate. It is really noteable to watch and African-American guy hear Blues like that for the first time. I have always had and always will LOOOVVE for this music. From Blind Lemon Jeffersen to Muddy Waters and all between. This performance is an American's take on a guitar part learned by an English man called Richard (Stones) then made their own as an American icon. The thing is over 100 years old and is right up there with :
1. The Lords Prayer
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Gettysburg address.
Mate thing spells A.M.E.R.I.C.A.
Go well son. Glad you liked it.
one of the hardest basslines to play. that constant repetitive finger motion takes massive hand strength to get through without cramping up. just doing the same thing over and over takes a toll. the only thing worse is "i gotta get outta this place."
Ever see Terminator 2? Remember Arnold walking out of the bar? This tune was playing!
Did you notice Bo Diddly was in the video? The guy with the square guitar.
He's playing pool with BB KING 😂
I'm pretty sure but not positive that he is playing pool with BB King in this video.
The black dude with the hat and glasses is none other than Bo Diddley!
One of the best concerts I ever saw. So many intoxicating substances we're being passed through the crowd. Soon as you toked what was being passed around, someone would hand you a flask of shine! We were sooo messed up, it took 4 hours before I thought I could drive home. We made it, but I'm not really sure how.
Hell yeah! Was double fisting beers with my hubby at his concert! 🥳🥳🥳
did you remarked that that was Bo Diddley in the pool hall?
I played ice hockey growing up and I was the goalie. My mask has a bull dog breaking through a fence with a bloody bone in his mouth. And at the bottom it said bad to the bone. If I can find it I’ll send you a picture in discord. They used to play this song during our warm ups. This song brings back so many good memories. Thanks for reacting to it.
Bo Diddley playing pool.....great!!
That "beat" ... riff.... is the most used riff in music
Muddy Waters made the original
I can’t believe there’s people out there it’s never heard this music. I grew up with it and 70s. It’s all kick ass rock ‘n’ roll man.
I like how Bo Diddley was in the video....
You're 44!? You look like you're about 28!
Positive stuff is good ,thanks guy
The beat is from Mannish Boy.
My favorite song!!
The Blues with a chainsaw...
The old guy in the sharp suit was Willie Mosconi, one of the greatest pool players of all time.
Bo Diddley and Willie Mosconi
THAT'S THE LYRIC THAT ALWAYS GOT ME TOO BRO...YOU ARE SPOT ON. LOL
You got style bro keep going
The guy in the suit is Willie Mosconi, one of the greatest pool players ever. Bo Diddley had the rectangular guitar.
Cisero Murphy is my favorite
When my son was born the nurses told me I'd have troubles with this one... and yes I sure did
The best of some blues George is the crazy one 🎉
That's the Muddy Waters riff. Written for him by Willie Dixon.(watch Cadillac Records, great blues movie). And Bo Diddley playing pool has his own Bo Diddley riff. Thorogood uses that riff in Who do you Love.
"Got the good time music and the Bo Diddley beat"
Bo Didley all that !
He’s great in concert too
The legendary Willie Mosconi is in the video too. He's the one that put the cash on the racked balls.
Yeah, it's insane that so few know about Bo being the man who first started creating differently-shaped guitars.
BB king my guy
That's Bo Diddely ... !!
I saw this on Tuesday, he's 72, still rocking
The guy that he is playing pool with is BO DIDLEY, the first rock-n-roll artist.❤
Okay. You can keep reacting to the same songs as everyone else or you can step up and stand out with some of the more obscure classics like Have Another Hit of Fresh Air by Quicksilver Messenger Service, Rainy Day Women #12 and 35, Easy Living by Uriah Heep, Highway Star by Deep Purple, stuff like that. If you check out any of these and can truly say you don’t like it, I’ll kiss your ass and say it’s ice cream. Much love from Saint Louis, Missouri.
All hail the Bo Diddley beat! If you think Elvis (PBUH) was the King of Rock, you don’t know Diddley. Hey, Van. Our American heritage is Jazz and Rock n Roll. Ike Turner, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, and Mama Thornton. Not in any order, collectively. And I’m probably forgetting plenty (Robert Johnson, BB King, etc). Thanks for all you do. “America” is more than the globalist war machine. Her actual people represent the Salt of the Earth, as well. Bless you and yours, sir.
The guy that George was playing against is Bo Didley. Bo Didley invented rock and roll.
I lost it at the "rainbow through her coochie" comment. LOL! You're my new favorite UA-camr! Too damn funny!
Have you ever watched Christine (1983)? This very song I kid you not was actually used in the soundtrack for that film
He's playing against the GREAT Bo Didley!
I went to Howard in Wilmington Delaware, and a group of us went to one of the pool halls almost every day during lunch (and during a few classes). He and a few of his bandmates (Delaware Destroyers) visited the pool hall a few times. He was loud, obnoxious, and fun to watch him run the tables. Great showman on the tables and on the stage.
Nothin like a shiny, clean black on black pick up with an American flag! Mercy!
Its a blues riff. The guy who lost was a cat named Bo Diddley rock star from the 50s-60s. The old man that dropped the money on the table is a gentleman by the name of Willie Marsconi a world champ billiards player.
Gotta check out Miss Luanne .
She's got a body like an Austin Healey chassis with a tan .
Was originally written for Muddy Waters but when he decided not to do it, George decided to record it himself.
Hmm an extraterrestrial who root for the expos... i said extraterrestrial because that song was everywhere
You know, I love it. Love to you and your family and friends.
I don’t know if you seen that I noticed that but that BB King playing pool with them
Please stop talking so much….I understand you have to pause but you are at the absolute next level.
It was used for Christine movie soundtrack! :)
The other guy shooting pool is Bo Didley, the first rock and roll singer!
lol it’s no longer called pickup truck it now called a pickem up truck lol
Movies commercials everywhere
Check out Muddy Waters. The OG.
You hear this beat right before someone got thier butt kicked in the movies
The legend himself
Bo Diddly there to..❤
Definitely Fly the American Flag!
This song was a tribute to the great blues musician Bo Diddley. This boastful style is called braggadocio, and Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters were masters of it. Another great example is ZZ Top’s “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide”
Also, Bo is in the video with the hat and square guitar.
Muddy waters manish boy part 2
I love these reaction videos U Sir have a great taste in music
Popular song in movies. Have you done Santana yet. Here's one that will surely knock your socks off. It's a band made up of Hispanics, African-Americans and Whites. You've got to listen to this one. Santana Live at Woodstock - Santana - Soul Sacrifice 1969 Woodstock live concerto. The lead guitarist is the young Mr Santana himself. He's got that little goatie pinch going. It's a rare thing to see these guys performing so well live at Woodstock. I know you'll enjoy this one. Looking forward to your reaction. ❤️✌️
Minnesota Fats and Classie Freddie Blasie make the video perfect.
If you make that pool shot, you lose the game.
The bass player always has the most fun. They get the least credit but they're always the foundation.
44 getting stuff together? bro get on it now!!
You ever see Stephen King's Christine?
the music industry should appreciate the exposure from Reaction videos because it draws traffic to their artist that otherwise they would have never have gotten.
Fats Domino in the pool hall, with a guitar
You talk way to much, play the song
The one of the baddest blues songs ever made!!!! In fact ever blues man know this song.
This song was in the movie Christine.
Lol! Not all women some of us prefer they leave 🤣
You've missed a lot of great stuff
loved your reaction bro your hilarious.
This song was in the movie Christine
