  • You have to first create characters that are honest and real. After that, you have to take risks to separate yourself from the pack. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲: thehellerapproach.com

    "The Heller Approach" is an acting technique that gives actors a simple yet practical and solid foundation so that actors are ready and empowered with reliable and easily accessible tools to work in any medium. The technique and its application are based on muscle memory and not on past personal experiences.
    The amazing technique is born from working actors and directors. It truly frees the artist to access feelings and thoughts that are universal to all humans, helping actors to create the most believable, entertaining characters in a way that is conducive to the fast-paced entertainment industry.
    "The Heller Approach" is taught exclusively by Brad Heller, a working actor, director, and acting coach. Group classes are available every Wednesday night and Tuesday days in Los Angeles, California. Private lessons are also available via Skype, Zoom, or in person.
    Professor Heller taught for 5 years at UCLA before opening his own acting studio in 1995. Heller's teachings are based on the works of his former teacher and mentor, Don Richardson, who was an original member of the Group Theater, which was the nucleus of Acting in the United States. Richardson's fellow students were Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and Uta Hagen. Don was one of the Group Theatre students who said, "The Method is NOT what acting is about." He directed over 800 television shows in his time.
    Don's acting technique became a rescue for Brad Heller because despite having a degree in theater from one of the world's finest theater programs, Boston University School of Theater Arts, and trying multiple acting techniques, Brad could not enjoy the process of acting. Combining Don Richardson's acting technique with the knowledge of anxiety from Dr. Eda Gorbis and lessons from his mentor Academy Award winner Seth Winston, and more, the Heller Approach has become trusted by thousands of students globally.

    Thank you for the reminder to have fun! I take acting classes, and sometimes I forget to just have fun and care too much about how I sound or look sometimes and think I'm doing bad then I get frustrated and slightly sad and to focus on being great. This video is gold. Thank you so much again!

    I love the tip of having fun. Practicing can get stressful for me when I’m having trouble connecting with the character, but remember to have fun reminds me that it’s okay to struggle and that it’s a process and to love the process.

    Hey, you know how it's important to know your type for when you're auditioning for roles?
    How do I go about finding my type?

    • @thehellerapproach
      @thehellerapproach  7 років тому +3

      Hi there,
      Thank you for your support to the channel! You are correct, it's extremely important to know your casting type and in order to answer that question, Brad Heller would have to spend some time working with you on your craft. Should you decide to sign up for lessons, they would consist of but are not limited to the following: scene study/scene analysis, audition technique, cold reading technique, career management, tools in overcoming stage freight, improv technique and much more.
      We suggest signing up for either a Skype lessons, or coming into the studio for a free audit. That way you can meet Brad, and get a feel for his non-method acting technique. You will find everything you need to know on the website www.thehellerapproach.com
      We look forward to hearing from you and furthering your acting career!
      Cheers,

    but how can you be human if you fill your scene up with so many things you plan beforehand that you are doing subconsciously? I thought acting wasn't supposed to feel too much like acting?

    • @thehellerapproach
      @thehellerapproach  2 роки тому +2

      Through muscle memory! Also, give your actions motivations in line with your character. ie. Why is your character doing it? Does it serve the scene and stay true to the character? Although you should be inventive, you shouldn't do things just to do them (ie. "trying" to be funny just to be funny).

    I had one question sir, I’ll be overwhelmed if you find time to reply me😊. My question is that sir, whenever i act I somehow feel that there is something common which i do each and everytime so basically i want to ask that how to act different and something new everytime???
