In 1970, after returning from Vietnam, I married my high school sweetheart! At the time we could only afford a very simple wedding and spend one night at Motel 6. To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary we booked a Caribbean cruise. Unbeknown to us, our four children surprise us with a honeymoon package. After the Capt. renews our vows we dance the night away with Neil Young and Harvest Moon. To say that we had the time of our life for 6 beautiful romantic nights is the understatement of the century!

I really liked it until she sang the vibrato. no offense but just sounded off.
I came back in 70 also. Three months later was making shake down cruises on USS Forrestal. I only had a few months home with my lovely young wife. We made it to 59 years and counting. We danced a lot in those younger days. Can't do so much now.
Great life share. Four yrs '66 to '70, USAF Aerial Photo Reconn 600th Combat Photo, Tan Son Nhut & Ubon RTAFB. BTW, this is one of my most replayed HSCC covers; just love it. Blessed that we came home so we could enjoy truly great compositions and great covers like these.
This song was written for my wife and I. I was the stranger watching her dance from afar at the airmans club when stationed in England. She was so beautiful but I couldn’t dance and was too shy to approach her. As luck would have it a friend of mine asked me to come to the club, he had a blind date for me. What a shock, it was the same girl I watched dance weeks before. Bottom line we dated 4 months got married and we will celebrate our 60 th anniversary this June. Yes, shes still beautiful. 😍 ❤ We just celebrated our 60 th wedding anniversary on June 13 th. I wrote this note and put it in her card. “ I loved you then, I love you still, I’ll love you tomorrow, I always will “. I meant this song could have been written for me and my wife, not literally. Sorry If I misled anyone.

These live performances are ridiculously good. They sound like fully mixed/mastered studio recordings. Really, folks, these are special works of talent. Wow.
The videos of these folks I've seen so far ARE indeed highly processed and/or recorded in well equipped studios. They're highly talented and talented musicians though.
It is live, but they are fully mixed edited processed with a DAW. I do it quit often. I’m not a professional, but love to do it. All these guys are really really good. I have a recording on my YT channel done by a duo I’ve run sound for, that l burned on CD and listen to on road trips.
This is outstanding. Hauntingly beautiful. Everything, the sound, arrangements, harmonies, just fabulous.

This is one of the few songs I don’t in particular like by HSCC. I think any cover of this song was ruined for me after I listened to Foxes and Fossil’s version and to be honest I’m of the opinion they did it better than Neil Young.
I’m not sure how to describe but to me this sounds too busy
@@michaelmacnamara1100 I listened again and not only do I find the song too busy I also find it too upbeat. I’m glad someone understood what I meant by too busy. I’m not a musical expert by any means, I can play the radio but that’s as far as my talent goes, I just know what my ears tell me.
HSCC has many many great songs, I think they missed the mark with this one.

Wow. Just Wow. What a multi-talented group. Jordan from vocals to drums/percussion!. Brad from Drums and vocals to Guitar. Con just doing the amazing bass lines with every song. Pina able to sing a wide variety of songs with ease, power when needed, silky smooth when called for. Kat with such bubbly enthusiasm and showing so much joy when singing. And all the other talented instrumentalists of the band are just amazing. Y'all pick just the right mix of singers and instrumentalists for the songs you choose. Just amazing and fantastic. Most talented cover band I've ever seen. The talent coming out of Australia is just amazing. You are all such a joy to watch and listen to. Keep up the good work.

I'm just hoping that I dont wake up and realise that HSCC are an incredible dream of pleasure! This song just demonstrates the diversity of interpretation and expression that HSCC continue to demonstrate in their musical journey. What a beautiful re-creation and diversity of style. As always the cover version is NEVER lacking in depth or style, and always capture the original essence, but adds to it. So much talent behind this - Con - your leadership must be recognised and Dave - you are a sound genius, and I'm sure I've left out credits to many deserving others.

You said it. NY was not liked by Lynyrd Skynyrd (enough to put it in a song) but I will give Neil the nod on this song. He wrote it for and about his wife, Pegi. I always envision an older couple long married having a slow dance all by themselves, not wanting or needing to share those with anyone else. I can’t make it through this one without tearing up, it’s a beautiful piece of art.

Glenn Koenig - NY's Harvest Moon is a work of art with so many dimensions and depth - the story the music the feeling the atmosphere incredibly talented and gifted songwriter /singer, not too many singers can do all that
This was AWESOME, I always favor the original Artists version, but this changed when the Vocals came in, they really transformed the song, but then as I listened I thought, Neil sure did write some incredible songs back in the day.
Accept no substitutes, HSCC are the original and simply the best. Another masterpiece. Go Pina & Kat.

I've come back to this one many times. It's at the very top of my HSCC list. Such a great arrangement, performance of a great tune. As always, the audio engineering is outstanding. Fresh and clean. Compared to some of HSCC's much earlier work, everyone seems to be very comfortably settled in. That makes a huge difference too. Bravo, y'all. Bravo.
