- We use herbs to keep our dogs healthy. Fortunately, it is rare to have to resort to any kind of treatment but the rare time we do, we use herbal remedies. We use the same herbs that we would use and we keep things simple.

I love watching Jazz and Broc playing together. They remind me of the two I used to have. My Cara passed away several years ago when she was 13, and Sasta passed away 2 years ago. He was almost 16. Both were rescue dogs from a shelter. Where I live now isn't fenced and the road has lots of traffic, so I just have an inside cat now. You're right about vets not really knowing about animal health. Most of them just want to do a lot of expensive testing and give meds with side effects. Plus, as with our food, who knows what's in the pet food that's sold in stores. Your advice for taking care of dogs is excellent, and both of your dogs look extremely healthy and happy. May you be blessed with their presence for many more years.

Hello Terri, I cant watch youre video now because after 17.7 years I had to put down my dog. A very kind and loving Beagle. She was so old and I had to make the most difficult decission ever. But I dont want her to suffer, she could'nt go on any further. My hart is broken and i miss her so much. No dog can replace her. 😢

I worked at a veterinary for many years but believe in a holistic approach with animals. One of my veterinarians finally would occasionally recommend a natural remedy before I had to quit because I moved. I don’t force my ideas on anyone but suggest what has worked for me in the past.
I feel like a job well done when someone considers and tries a natural approach.

Thank you Terri for sharing. We only have a cat now, also hens and goldfish in an outside pond. Our last wee Jack Russell died few years back. The cat is the same, loves to drink the rain water from the containers. When my oldest daughter used to have a pony it only drank from the stream in our field, they know the natural rain water etc is best. Xx

Aww I love your vids and sharings Terri. So close to my heart too. I also fund raise for various furries. and campaigned for animals for decades, Big fan of charity shops too. I have had furries for decades and never subscribed to the vaccination malarky nonsence. for all my pets, All a big money spinner for big pharma. I have always given them homeopathic remedies, as I wasn't very versed in herb preps for animals. My last baby boy dog was 19. blessings to you Loll and dear Broc and Jazz they make my day xx

It wouldn't be the same without them - there would be something missing. I have always had a dog since being a child and the whole family are dog lovers. My sister in law is terrible - if she ever goes to a country fair, she ends up with a new pup if my brother doesn't keep an eye on her😂xx
They are so cute and loving. Broc looks like the happiest dog in the world because his tail is always wagging, no matter what is going on. Wish my Angus could play with them!!

Hello to you both, your dogs are healthy and fun loving companions, 🤗 I also enjoy collecting white hand embroidered table linens runners etc also lace trimmed bed linen, and tableclothes. I have a lovely selection of vintage hand made linen hookback hand towels with hand made lace trim they are treasures of a different variety. No matter how many times they are washed still lovely and white, times when to have the linen drying in the sun light was a joy to see, I like to keep up the tradition. I started my dog Bobby a Labrador Retriever (3 years old in July) on a raw food diet two years ago and I have never looked back (raw chicken with bones, beef mince and lambs liver plus minced veg carrots and cabbage). His weight is perfect and his coat is shining. He gets a small handful of pumpkin seeds every morning and he has never had any parasites. For an upset tummy Slippery Elm - works a treat.

Hello! I so live watching your fur babies play. I agree, I do not take my cats to the vet. I don't trust a lot of the ones we have here in the U.S. and it is so hard to find a cat only vet. I have stopped giving my cats tap water. They now only get filtered water. A holistic vet my Chiropractor takes his dogs to, said she has never seen all the heart issues and other diseases she has seen since rona (covid) was released. She thinks a lot of the issues are stemming from the water. So, I give them filtered water and watch carefully what I feed them. My mother-in-law rescued papillons and always got the fresh ground left overs from the butcher. I have not been successful in getting my cats to eat raw fresh ground meat. It is so wonderful to see your babies thriving. It makes my heart feel good! Thank you for all you do here and for sharing. ❤😊🙏

I give organic honey to my doggy to strengthen inmune system. Exactly, camomile is miraculous for them!💙
Right now I am giving to my little female dog a mixture of propolis, equinacea and thyme for urine problems and she is doing really well.

Some great Linen finds! Most people only used them for special occasion, if ever, so many vintage linens are like new at the second-hand stores.

Hiya Terri, appreciate all the tips, and will be using now that I know. Similar to yours we don’t run to the vet when Poppy is poorly ex upset belly., who can afford it ? I do give her a daily dose of cbd oil she is a10 year old rescue Doberman. She does get raw bones, from supermarket,pricey dry food,and some raw veggies of the day. Of course the odd treats. My girl is 13. She is my soul dog…love her deeply! Thank you Terri for this info. She has digestive problems and is on a special food. I mix in a tablespoon of honey, a few blueberries and some ground flax seed with her food. I want to slowly withdraw her from the dry food. Have a great week and stay safe❤️

Our old whippet eats a lot of cleavers straight out of the hedgerow. The elderly border collie prefers a little grass. We make their food. An oatmeal (cooked) base with boiled chicken, a little finely chopped boiled carrot, hard boiled eggs and cottage cheese. Refrigerate and use within 3-4 days. They really do prefer rainwater or failing that boiled cooled water. Me too. i haven't drank tap water for over 40 years.

I was always a dog person and until 5 yrs ago, I had 4. I'm sad to say they all got old at the same time and passed within a short span of one another. We decided to take in ferals and stray cats from the area and have 5 cats now so I fear my dog days are past me. I do petsit for dogs and it brings back many happy memories. I agree about the Vets and I also used herbal remedies. Nice to see what you got at the charity shops and I always appreciate your work. Many blessings to you always dear Terri. They are so sweet! I have cats now, and have had for the last 30+ years. Have had my share of dogs, usually large ones. I take care of my cats the same as you do the dogs. They get both wet food and high quality dry. They get only the shots mandated by law here- 1 rabies shot every 3 years. I take them to the vet for a yearly exam or when there is a problem. All of my furbabies have lived to 15+ years , except one, we think he had a stroke early on. They are strictly indoor cats living a very loving pampered life.😊
They have had good innings. When we had to put our cat to sleep last year, the vet couldn't believe she was 17 as they never see cats that age x

The reason why they don't give off cuts of meat away , is because not long ago intensive farmers used this meat to fatten up cattle in sheds, also given fermented chicken dropping and feathers, and bird carcasses too from the floor of the factory farmed poultry sheds, which ultimately caused BSE.
Sadly I think that was the case.
It was beutyfull to see the dogs and ofcorse also you thanks a lot😊❤

Our Vet uses holistic approach - he studied with Rosemary Gladstar. We feed our dogs raw meat and bones. Chicken feet are a fav treat. I make dog cookies from pumpkin, ground pumpkin seed(keeps worms away) and peanut butter. They are def. part of the family - spoiled! Jazz and Brock certainly have the good life! Happy, healthy dogs.

Hello there dear terri, doggies too.im late to watch today, been several days with a friend and her 2 youngsters,11 and 6 csme to visit for afew days, left for home this afternoon, she is the daughter of my very dear friend who passed on a year ago.was very poorly, she was such a dear friend, bout a 3 hour journey bsck home for them,,im relaxing now for this evening and tomorrow .im worn out but been lovely and special. Oh my we had storm Kathleen, (my mums name Kathleen).,well what a delightful lovely pair of dogs,they always shine brightly,super healthy looking dogs..we still miss our bearded collie cross,he was z rescue from young,he lived to 17,our cat we had also he passed on at 17 a year later, i just have my garden girls 🐔 now.we shall see what may come along.thankyou for shareing your healthy ideas for dogs.i agree so many dogs do have the wrong food s,their owners think they are being kind, but they get so unhealthy. I feel thst dogs should come with instructions 😊, for those who didn't really hsve an idea of the things needed mostly basic.i really enjoy seeing your s frolicking about the beach and the gardens,,playing on the house floors. We have recently switched our golden retriever onto a raw diet which contains 10% bone. He also gets bone broth, oily fish, sometimes a raw egg. He’s eating rabbit, chicken, turkey, salmon, tripe, beef, plus offal. I do add herbs to his diet too, he seems to like them. He is so much calmer and content on a raw diet, his coat is shinier and he’s lost some weight - which he needed to. Even the premium dog food kibble contains sweet potato which spikes their insulin and can cause weight gain. A dog would never choose to eat a sweet potato! I’ll look at which herbs to add for potential worms. I make my own natural spray for repelling fleas which has neem, eucalyptus and ACV in it amongst other things.

I love the fact we are awakening to treating our pups as we would ourselves! There are many tisanes we can brew for them, as for ourselves.
I have wormwood, good grief, taking over a part of my herb garden. Time to hack it back, dry some and make way for others.

Your dogs look really healthy and energetic. Many people feed dogs raw carnivore diet, for example raw minced chicken minced with the bones. Dogs can also choose the herbs that heal them :)

Sounds ideal....and how folk used to look after their pets years past. 5 decades ago we used to give our Tri Border Collie a tin of sardines each week to enhance his coat etc., meat the rest of the week and a good marrow bone. So many dogs with diabetes over the last 30 years or so!! 🙈 Still; big pHARMa and the insurance companies are happy eh! 👀

Dogs look in tip top health! They are not overweight! So many people over feed their dogs and they look so fat! Love that u don’t get them jabbed to Teri!! Brilliant!
That is such a problem. Dogs don't need three meals a day or even two. Some days our dogs get nothing to give their digestive systems a rest.
It’s a pet hate of mine! Pardon the pun Teri! I feel sorry for dogs that get so fat and unhealthy through no fault of their own!
Love this video. Dogs, in their way are a sort of "natural" medicine in what they teach us about living life, for our spirits/mental health but also sometimes physical health too. You can say the same for trees and plants. If we can get over ourselves as a species and observe and listen to other life, besides just ourselves as humans, we can learn a lot. I just read a lovely quote not exactly pertaining to this but maybe somewhat...."Yesterday I was clever and wanted to change the world. Today I am wise and am changing myself." Dogs can teach us so much, about living, about giving, about caring!❤️❤️🙏🙏🫶🫶

Canned dog food is so expensive here in the states. So I feed my boy organ meats alternating with muscle meats.

Thank you for the information on dogs. I try to make fresh dog food when I have the time. Here in NH USA we have to get their rabies shots when due because the vet sends the info to the city and they have to be licensed and up to date on that vaccine. silly because our 2 little Chihuahuas don't go anywhere except around our 1/2 acre which is plenty for them, in the winter they hardly step foot outside. I have been feeling quite scammed every year paying for the heartworm test then a fortune for heartworm preventative, and the other vaccines they receive too! It's very expensive and most likely unnecessary.
Don't give any medicine unless it is needed, especially as your two are unlikely to pick things up. As for the rabies shots we don't have rabies here so it is not an issue xx

Terri .- add fresh fruit into their diet since dogs are omnivore and the fruit is alkalizing and excellent for them and may help with digestive issues. My dog loved blueberries especially. :-) Love watching your healthy dogs run and play in your beautiful garden.

Oddly, I had a cat that loved to share my fruit smoothies, but I discovered he was allergic to almond milk (his lower lip would swell slightly) so I started making them with fresh apple juice and he got a small dish every morning and lapped it up, so maybe cats aren't entirely carnivore after all. So much to learn. I've been sharing you on my blog and on Facebook, thanks for the wonderful Sunday treat.

We have two dogs, Herbie and Daisy. Both are corgis. I have had many different dogs over the years that have lived to very old age. Always feed the best I can, lots of fresh when possible and stay away from vets as much as possible here in the states. One thing that Herbie does that I have not seen with my other pets is in the Spring he will pick dandelion flower first and then the leaves when there are no flowers. Of course he is a grass eater also. Life would not be so much fun without our dogs. Thanks.

American dogs are sick all the time. It's because of the vaccines and pharmaceuticals vets are trained to push on our animals. Not to mention the kibble is horrible (like feeding them McDonalds). Thanks for sharing your recipes and knowledge!!!

We used to have a holistic vet near us but he passed away last year and they haven't found someone to replace him yet.
I had a Border Collie when my daughter was young and they are ridiculously smart! We had to get creative with spelling things, we couldn't spell walk or leash or out; she figured out what that was. LOL
Your boys are beautiful, I love watching them play together while you work.
Jazz is part Border Collie part Lab so she is very clever. They are amazing when they are learning a new game.😂
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden yeah we had a BC/Lab cross too after the BC and he didn't inherit the smarts that's for sure. My daughter and I used to joke that he was our lovable dumb dumb. Best dog ever, just not very bright LOL
I adore these two furry bairns. they always look so happy and healthy and no wonder, credit to you. Vets, not all, like to make big bucks. Jazz and Broc always appear conent with their tails wagging. Plenty of walks and beach runs to experience daily will satisfy these dotes and their access to herbal medicine can only benefit. Cuddles to them both. E x

Great tips i told you i lost my 22yr old dog not long along ago. Your black dog looks so much like my dog i lost. I always gave my dog filtered water. British berkfield filter. What lucky dogs you have blessings to you all ❤❤
He got to a great age. Our last dog died at 17/18 which the vet thought was astounding.
My Welsh Terrier was finally put to sleep , out of kindness at 18 +3 mths ….he developed Cushings at 17 , and soldiered on …I took him walkies in a child’s push chair for his end times…he had arthritis, but he still did all his sniff/ snuff and business at rest spots….my God I loved him so much….One probable mistake I made was to get a Welshie girl pup, when he was 17. …but eventually he accepted her, and they bonded quite well 🤔 but he was too old to put up with her play demands.🥲never fed my dogs canned food, except for holiday convenience…always raw chicken necks, and home cooked meats, liver and root vegies….
I love your two friends , they put love in my heart every time I see them…especially DOGS DAY OUT 🤣❤️. My two Terriers love watching it on utube too…music is perfect 🤣🤣💞💕

Thank you for this post Danu. I was one of those who asked about the dogs and it was great to have your 'take' on taking care of them using a maybe more natural way of doing it. The dogs always look very happy and healthy and I'm sure they love living in the countryside and near the sea. I am very envious of that because we live in a large town where access to those things is difficult or non existent. Most of the time the dogs are on leads, which is not ideal, but we can't risk them running in the road and getting hit by a car or worse. My dog is a one year old terrier, very much like Brock to look at and he's always willing to rush about chasing leaves or blossom. His favourite occupation is digging!
Broc enjoys digging too. Can you take your dogs to a park for a run? It is so long since I lived in a town I can't quite remember how you manage dogs xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden yes, luckily we have a park and a wood near us but he hasn’t been off the lead yet as he is only 15 months old and I don’t want him to get lost or into bother with other dogs he doesn’t know. We are currently working on lead training with him. He is a delightful companion.

I give my greyhound Madge bottled spring water to drink, and would never give her tap water. I would not drink tap water either, as it makes me sick if I do! She is terrified of the vets, after having a dew claw pulled out. So she will not let one anywhere near her. This makes things difficult, as she will not let anyone cut her claws! We walk on the roads every day, so am trying to keep them down this way, but they are still way too long. xxx
The poor love. Hopefully the walking on the roads will help or give her some Chamomile tea and she might relax a little xx
