@@inspectorconscious2388 I think it was deeper than that. But it's def sad. I think even the bro regretted it so much so he ended his life. Such a tragedy. 😥

No wonder they called Roger the king of the talkbox, this performance pure perfection. I remember being a junior in high school in 1987 when this timeless hit came out, Roger rest easy now brother you are looking at the face of Jesus now. We will see you very soon on that big stage in the sky RIP😢♥️🌹
Can y'all young against please stop calling talk box autotune?? They are two totally different things. Auto-Tune requires zero talent It's just a vocal processor that a child can sing into with no skill. Top box requires you to be able to play a keyboard or a guitar to be able to use it. With talkbox You are replacing your own vocals with the vocals of the keyboard or the guitar. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY EVERY SINGLE NOTE THAT YOU SING.
Legendary, especially this rendition. Still looking for a good quality video of the whole show. Unntil then, I'll come back to this one.. Thanks for putting it up!
The drummer on this live performance is today's R&B recording artist PleasureMore, I agree, this was one of the best bands Roger had at the time when he toured around the world.
I got to see Roger in 1995 in San Francisco...amazing show...they almost didn't let me and my buddy in cause we were underdressed...but my buddy was blind so the bouncer took pity on us...that was a hell of an experience...let me tell you!
RIP Roger Troutman and son (Both on the talkboxes) I don't need to go into a rant about people saying what Roger did was Autotune because It's Not and I guarantee the person who created the plugin, Roger Troutman was not a name that came to mind and as an alternative to talkbox/vocoder didn't either.
A great song by a great performer, this song is one of the that got me into playing the keyboards and the talk box, Roger and his family gone way to soon, Rest In Peace Troutman family.

Roger expressed his desire to work independently. Nothing justifies Larry's actions at all, but at the time they had fallen behind on finances for the second time that decade. So, Roger wanting to go a separate way was probably the straw the broke the camel's back for Larry. It's so fucked up, though, because it really could have been avoided. Roger didn't deserve that.
Steve F It’s a Talk Box. It’s like an effects pedal for your mouth. There are inputs and outputs on the box itself. One end connects to a keyboard or guitar, and the other end connects to the microphone. The plastic tube alters the natural sounds. Not to be confused with AutoTune, which does the work for you. You STILL need to sing and play in harmony
Roger Troutman’s son on the talk box and keyboards was gorgeous!
a lot of tragedy in that family unfortunately
Love you and miss you Roger! 🙏💔💔❤️❤️❤️🥲
Roger may not be here physically but his ALIVE FOREVER!!!

this is probably the best live performance i have ever seen in my life
How is it that you've never seen the Motown 25 performance of Michael Jackson?
RIP Roger Troutman!
He actually sounds good with or without the Auto Tune. Love this vid.
That's a talkbox. Auto tune was a full decade away when this came out.
That sir right there is called a talk box, no autotune was ever involved lol
Seriously, that’s all talent
Talkbox. Requires you to be able to play an instrument (keyboard, guitar). Auto tune requires no talent
@@RTDavis0503 thanks for the correction
roger the 🐐
The audience clapping at the ending gives me chills especially when he screams there names at the ending

Fun fact: Roger Jr. aka Lynch wrote this song.
He never needed auto tune

Even though I think straight on vocoder synths have their place, I really love this application better - mixed with real vox.
Props to everyone out there who know the difference between a vocoder and autotune.
Roger at 1:53 looked so fly 😳🥰

Why did Larry have to kill roger then commit suicide 😭
Roger expressed his desire to work independently. Nothing justifies Larry's actions at all, but at the time they had fallen behind on finances for the second time that decade.
