Awesome review! I developed a mod to bring FFB to a game that does not support it, and it's clear (from a developer view) that speed is *very* important. Even more than torque, in my opinion, as the speed is what allows the car to self-correct like in reality. Torque is still very important - you can't get accurate speed (wheel acceleration) if you don't have the torque. I hope other reviewers will also pay attention to rotation speed, as it's so important but so overlooked.
The T248 led me to getting a T300RS and T-LCM pedals... So I returned the T248. It's actually not a bad wheel. I think the hybrid drive is a great idea, but for me they dropped the ball on not allowing interchangeable steering wheels.
400 for a wheel that is still made of hard plastic is kinda iffy on my book, Im paying nearly half a thousand for something that still feels like a Mcdonalds play place, maybe if they release a revised version of it feeling more premuim than plasticy I would for sure recommend it for starting out wheel, better than G29 though but not on price.
I've played it and I own a g920 and nah the t248 wheel itself is not better, though it does have it beat in the display, the amount of buttons and the pedals that come with it. but the FFB, etc feels way better on the g920 and the design of the t248 looks like a kids toy, even if they removed the plastic, just the way they have you gripping the wheel is uncomfortable
@@MakhnoDripGod ffb on g920 better? You must have not installed the trustmaster software then. Logitech wheels, all of them, have way less and worse ffb, thats not even subjective, so if that wasnt the case then something is wrong. As for the design, its personal preference, the logitech ones also looks like toys but they do have leather and a bit better quality. t248 looks a bit like a real cars, but smaller. Although, the pedals that come with t248 are superior in every way to logitech pedals.
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j I did install the software and used every forcefeed back setting, the deadzone is garbage, and while it may have slightly stronger torque rating, it doesn’t matter because the feel of the g920 is better, undoubtedly, you’re just fanboying, the t300 is better than all of them, they shouldn’t have even made the t248

I couldn't have asked for a better wheel. I tried several times, but racing games are not for me. What I am really into is Truck Simulators, and this wheel is perfect for them because of all the extra encoder buttons. You can map a lot of truck functionalities on the wheel and very rarely have to use mouse and keyboard to control things such as: Cruise control, increase/decrease/resume, beacon and hazard, headlights, highlight beams, engine break, lift/drop axle for truck and trailer, engine break potency, open map, etc. You can do it all via encoders. At first it's hard to memorize everything, but after doing it for a while it becomes sencond nature, and that for me, is when this wheel truely shines.
I have the t248 as an upgrade to a TMX. My main gripe is the dead zone and ability to drift can be cumbersome. I have not used a T300 so don't know the difference in that respect but the T300 availibility was an issue and DD wheels are just too expensive for me. The T248 is a good compromise wheel if you want a good pedal set included. I can work around its imperfections and don't have anyone to complain about the noise it makes. You pays your money...

@Sister Mary Clements the t300/TX is absolutely fine. I think the problem lays with you as opposed to the product. Sim racing isn’t for everyone, but for most it is a hugely enjoyable and immersive experience that can’t be had with a conventional controller.
3:13 yes, the hydrid drive does make noise, but it is still better than something like the Logitech G29, which just shakes and clunks all over the place
If anyone is unsure about the wheel here's my input(similar experience to video): Pedals: They're pretty nice for a budget wheel overall but the can slip a but if you don't have anywhere to fasten them. Wheel: I find it extremly anyoing how it clunks and rattles if you let go of the wheel, crash or drive at low speeds. You can disable it in settings but you loose some feedback. The self centering is a real problem. You have a Boost option in drivers thats a bit faster but it doesn't completely fix it. The shifter: I don't mind thats it loud but sometimes it MISSES A SHIFT. I not sure if it's a me problem but it happes sometimes. The clamp: I use it on my wooden desk and it unfortunately slowly creeps forward when drifting so you have to readjust every now and then. I got it for 100EUR total for a slightly used wheel. For the price I'd say it's worth as a used t300/t500 would probably be at least double and much older.
Thank god I didn't buy it instead of my T300. T300 feels quick enough for drifting. I started from G923 and the car was most likely understeering due to slow FFB. When I bought T300 the car was straightend in most cases of losing control instead of spinning out. Great review, you did a good job making it so people like me who starting on sim drifting won't make mistakes(as I did when bought G923, lol).
I agree, very informative video: I've heavily gotten into drifting with my G29 Logitech but due to heavy use the FFB burned out on me. I'm in the market for a new wheel and the slow recentering in this T248 is a deal breaker for me. It's a shame because the T3PM pedals look amazing in comparison to Logi's pedals.
@@ALFONIC yeah, but 923 brake pedal is soooo good. The spring is really has a good feeling and overall pedals looks and feel very good. I have stock T300 RS GT pedals: they feel cheap and not sturdy enough, although holding pretty good.
@@ALFONIC well, it's literally 27/29/920 wheel but with good brake pedal and questionable feature "trueforce". Although TrueForce in GRiD is pretty cool. Definetely gives a new feeling and somewhat reminds of a real car with a powerful engine.

Glad I bought the T300. Swap wheels when I want. No gear's. Pedals might be better as I bought the RS version. But I can upgrade to a decent set when I'm ready. Plus I'm starting out so the pedals are fine until I improve.
I bought a T128(the cheaper, weaker,smaller version) and i was attempting to learn to drift on GT7. This explains why it was a bit more different than i anticipated. We'll see if a T300RS makes a difference

It's the t248 for £300 or the tx leather edition for £400, I've also been put off a bit by the tx from a lot of people saying it has broken after a few months use. The t248 also comes with the better pedals and is £100 cheaper. Do I go for the tx and upgrade the pedals later maybe? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@DayWalker745 In your case, the TX is the start .... if you have more budget, there is also the TS-XW (if you find it cheaper than a fanatec dd 5/8nm). Regarding the pedals .... t3pa < t3pm < t-lcm ... the latter costs about 200 euros at home. Now, about the problems with this steering wheel....the majority, comes from the element between the pedals, the seat and the steering wheel...lol. When this element will have understood, that one never puts an ffb at the maximum, the motor will stop heating and grill the electronic card. The fan can be caused to die, you can replace it with a "noctua" . There are videos on youtube
Can't find t300 except for very expensive on ebay, and have had to ship 2 back already, listed as like new but didn't work when arrived, so may have no choice put to get 248 unfortunately
Imo the entry level wheel should always gets cheaper. The fact that this wheel enters T300 territory while nowhere near better is absolutely ridiculous. No one should really buy this. Better get that good ol T150.
Now in the country where I live, I can buy it cheaper than Logitech G29 or G920. If I had the money to buy the T300RS GT edition, I could buy the T248 and TH8A. This is very troublesome.

well if it costs 400, not worth it. But can get it for 300 in most of europe. And it has better pedals than both t150 and t300. And more than 70% more torque than t150
T300 has overheat issue when setting to 100% FFB, it will power off automatically when it overheated. I sold it for this reason. Also its pedal is easily malfunction.
I decided to return the T248 after about an hour playing. It’s not a particularly interesting wheel but the physical noise was just annoying. It’s affecting me enjoying the sound effects of the game. 😅😅😅😅😅
Tutorial by Semick: In Content Manager get into CONTENT->miscellaneous->PP FILTERS->the pp filter you are currently using. Set "AFTER_IMAGE" to 1 in [GLARE] section. Then at the bottom of the section you should see "SHAPE_AFTERIMAGE_LUMINANCE" and "SHAPE_AFTERIMAGE_LENGTH". To see some effect you need to tweak first one to about 5 and second one to about 1.5. You can also increase "SHAPE LUMINANCE" a bit. Depends on cars, you may even need to fiddle with car lights config to get it work. Or just use a car that has brighter brake lights in game.
as you have a G29, I have to say that ... this steering wheel is very good for beginners, but when you are playing more serious driving, unfortunately it can not demand you, you have to support it yourself, the pedals themselves have a pleasant, though weak, stroke in my opinion compared to the competition. (which does not mean that this steering wheel is bad only if you think ahead, I would advise you to look at manufacturers other than logitech)
@@incogni7376 I agree. A few months back I bought a G923 because I wanted to play Assetto Corsa since it's horrific on controller. I ended up not doing enough research and now I'm regretting my decision. It's not a terrible wheel, but the FFB is lackluster and doesn't provide enough feedback to properly control the car the way I want to. I probably could have gotten a T300 instead for the same price. Now I'm looking into getting that or a direct drive wheel.
my friend got this against my suggestion, and it's trash in every way doesn't even self center, the only good thing going for it are the buttons and pedals, and even it's not worth the price tag, my friend played it for two days I played it once and he sent it back, he's getting the t300, even the g920 is better than the t248 in terms of feel, etc the plastic etc feels bad and is not comfortable and really just looks like a toy honestly
i’ve had both these wheels. the t300 is Zion’s in front. the 248 is highly disappointing, it’s loud and has horrible vibrations! the only good thing is the screen.. highly recommend not buying it!
Some users have posted about motor swaps on the TMX/T150. Although it does certainly increase speed - they report the torque was minimally increased due to the hybrid design. If it is possible to change the motor on the T248 then I'd doubt there would be much difference because of how limiting the gear mechanism is to the belt drive.
A year later and there's now a SIGNIFICANT price gap. 🤷 The T248 is $300 while the T300RS GT is $450 AND has worse pedals. When it was only like a +$50 price gap stepping up to the T300RS GT made ALLLL the sense in the world, inferior pedals and all, but at +$150??? That's a much, MUCH harder decision.

i found that lubricating gears with silicone oil does wonders for smoothness and noise. My t150 was a lot better after lubrication

來說個笑話，原本打算轉手T500入T300的我，基於力回饋特性與個人使用習慣等，打算之後要換，直上Simagic的Alpha Mini，畢竟我已經習慣大力道+長時間激烈操駕，T300絕對很容易被我玩到過熱，怕久了會玩壞，原本看到T248有點心動，但想起他也只是入門級別的產物之後......
我還是繼續用T500好了，先換腳感更好踏板再說。
T500撇開細節跟反應速度較差以外
高傳動阻力的機構確實讓手感跟設定完阻尼的直驅 / 實車比較接近

wont overheat from my experience if you have the fan always on.

I would say yes, T300 is still better.
And the T248 pedals (T3PM) is compatible with T300 according to my test.

Personally i dont like the looks of the T248 but I've never had a wheel and if would I'd probably choose the g923
as you have a G29, I have to say that ... this steering wheel is very good for beginners, but when you are playing more serious driving, unfortunately it can not demand you, you have to support it yourself, the pedals themselves have a pleasant, though weak, stroke in my opinion compared to the competition. (which does not mean that this steering wheel is bad only if you think ahead, I would advise you to look at manufacturers other than logitech)
@@incogni7376 I agree. A few months back I bought a G923 because I wanted to play Assetto Corsa since it's horrific on controller. I ended up not doing enough research and now I'm regretting my decision. It's not a terrible wheel, but the FFB is lackluster and doesn't provide enough feedback to properly control the car the way I want to. I probably could have gotten a T300 instead for the same price. Now I'm looking into getting that or a direct drive wheel.

若單純從娛樂需求出發(GT7等)，會推薦T248還是G923呢? 外觀質感來看似乎G923不算差，同價位還有個排檔能玩，不考慮升級圖馬斯特其他產品的情況下T248和G923讓人有些猶豫，或是娛樂需求直接挑便宜的G29?
個人意見，要嘛就便宜到底G29，再上去就直接T300
G29 / G923 / T248在性能上都屬於入門款
跟T300有一段明顯的差距
且GT7由於輪胎物理比較嚴苛
建議上到T300才會有比較愉快的遊玩體驗

my friend got this against my suggestion, and it's trash in every way doesn't even self center, the only good thing going for it are the buttons and pedals, and even it's not worth the price tag, my friend played it for two days I played it once and he sent it back, he's getting the t300, even the g920 is better than the t248 in terms of feel, etc the plastic etc feels bad and is not comfortable and really just looks like a toy honestly

Looks like it's biggest issue is the weak motor, bet it could be fixed with a good hobby grade R/c motor swap.
Some users have posted about motor swaps on the TMX/T150. Although it does certainly increase speed - they report the torque was minimally increased due to the hybrid design. If it is possible to change the motor on the T248 then I'd doubt there would be much difference because of how limiting the gear mechanism is to the belt drive.

I own this ⚓, don't buy, pedals are ok I guess.
A year later and there's now a SIGNIFICANT price gap. 🤷 The T248 is $300 while the T300RS GT is $450 AND has worse pedals. When it was only like a +$50 price gap stepping up to the T300RS GT made ALLLL the sense in the world, inferior pedals and all, but at +$150??? That's a much, MUCH harder decision.
