    Thank you so much! They’re beautiful.
    Can you tell us how you attach the silver backed bail/bale piece for the smaller cabochons?

    Put a touch of chapstick over your sharpie mark and it won’t disappear before you can get your drill on it.

    Excellent demo, many thanks! Please do not add music. Natural sounds are easier on ears.
    The reason you come in at an angle on anything that is slippery, is so that the drill bit does not skip around and makes a firm anchor to the material. This is true of woodworking too, or metal work, when you use a drill bit or a Forstner bit, or hole saw. On wood, drill bits grasp well, except for large drill bits. Anytime you think its going to skip or grab too tight and send your piece flying, come in at an angle then slowly adjust to 90 degrees for a straight hole.same
    One thing you forgot to mention - wear big goggles! Get this eye protection at Harbor Freight for $2, not Home Depot for $14. Same product. Also wear an apron. Those glass chips are not meant to lodge in your eyes or clothes. Ditto for any wire brushing with pokey wires.

      Thanks. I had thought goggles. I think it's best to err on caution.

    You come in at an angle so that the drill bit doesn't slide across the surface of the cab causing scratches, because there is nothing for it to "grab" onto :) :) :)

    I found that using the ball ended demial bit works well using this with a mini drill stand

    What size drill bit are you using? How do you avoid breakages and burn out with the bits?

    Thanks for the great instructional video. I was surprised how neat the hole was after drilling. I was thinking you’d have to fire polish it or something but this is great. What size drill bit is that you’re using.

      Hi Judy =) I am not sure on the drill bit size... I wish I could remember but I filmed this quite a while ago. I agree, the hole did look really clean but I did notice a small bit of chipping. I didn't even think about fire polishing, thanks for the great idea!

    Just purchased a bunch of pendants with no holes. I need very small holes for a bale. Where do you get the bales that go on without a hole? Do they glue on?

      Thank you for the great question! I purchased a particular bit kit from Amazon but unfortunately I cannot remember the exact bit I used in the video. Here is the link to see the kit: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MOI9G6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (hope this helps =))

    Ok...just lost my message when the video ended...grrr! Great instructions...but aren’t you scared of using an electrical tool with water? I have a corded Drexel, but was thinking about using my flex-shaft for that reason. Thanks for any input on this.

    • @healinggoodies926
      @healinggoodies926  5 років тому

      I'm honestly not sure about using the flex-shaft Marcy... Let me know how it goes if you give it a whirl. My glass teacher taught me this way so my reservations weren't there but I'm sure if I hadn't seen it done this way I would of been apprehensive too.

    When you’re drilling, you’re off camera and we can’t see what you’re doing. Even when you take your hands out of the water you’re holding it away from the camera please Holger stone in your hands to the camera. Thank you. Great job.
