I think an Animated Motormaster was leaked for either the next wave or the one after that, so the detachable siren probably has something to do with that. I hope there's a Toxitron version of this mold coming one day.
I never owned any of the animated transformers toys, but seeing how they did Optimus makes me one a copy, and I hope they do Animated Starscream and Megatron.
I have a feeling they're going to retool that new video game Starscream into animated Starscream unless it's too tall... Scratch that, those two should be definitely leader class because Starscream was huge on that show
Unless you're all cynical like some of the people I talk to, He is awesome. I've messed with a bunch of boring figures and I don't think he's one of them.
Great review! I was wondering if you could elaborate on some examples when you were talking about some TF figures not feeling like action figures at around 8:45. Really curious on some modern figures you had in mind.
There are several Transforming figures where when you try to pose them, there is a ton of kibble and parts hanging off getting in the way or parts unhinging. Example most Movie Bumblebee figs. Most of them don't have ankle pivot and the panels on their legs shift and move every time you try to pose it. Or, figs won't have basic articulation like wrist rotation, waist swivel, the abil6to look up and down. After playing with GIJOE Classified Series and Marvel Legends, you notice a difference in Action figures and transforming robots.
@@TMan978 I totally blanked on Studio Series in general, I was thinking strictly of the G1 stuff. It’s like the first 80 figures of SS and then some have the most basic articulation. It actually turned me off from most of the stuff unless it’s G1 or the figure has ankle pivots at least. I wholeheartedly agree.
I feel like the front wheels should have been clear plastic since they technically aren’t supposed to be there, but they do seem to hide very well in person. Overall fantastic figure and can’t wait to get him myself
Great review TMan978!!! It's incredible how accurate the new Legacy figure is compared to the original Animated Optimus Prime figure. :D Keep on being amazing.
I have always loved the TF Animated series back in the two thousands. I especially love this new version of Optimus Prime. Or though we never got to see him with his trailer which he always had.
figure looks even better than the promo images. Genuinely hope they retool this figure for a rescue bot heatwave. the proportions are super similar, just would need slight tweeks to the altmode.
Beefy. Waiting on him to arrive. That accessory axe looks awesome. The ongoing annoying thing is: open fucking windows! Didn’t they say plastic cover windows were coming back? Thanks for the review, TMan.
I am still super on the fence this one. Owning the original, other than the limited articulation, and lackluster weapons his biggest drawback/annoyance was the transformation gimmick. Robot/truck mode were excellent. This update has improved articulation, and the best rendered fire axe weapon to date, however the truck mode, and robot proportions feel off. The hidden wheels are a nice compromise, but this new one feels like it has too much bumper. Robot mode also doesn't have the face mask gimmick. Not huge complaints as the figure for the most part looks really good, and fun in hand just not rushing to get him just yet as next year is pretty stacked.
@@TMan978 Super glad you dig him !! I didn’t have any attachment to the Animated stuff so that probably colors my opinion a bit. Any day with a new Transfomer in your hand is a good day !!
As soon as anything is announced that I remotely want, it's ordered on Amazon without a thought. ... Self plug, I also add the items to my Amazon store that's linked in the description of all of my videos
Had to cancel my pre order on this guy for money reasons but with animated Optimus being in the first wave of United , I'm pretty sure he's going to shelf form for the rest of 2024 .
@@TMan978 dosen't matter what character it is both Walmart and target buy so much of the first wave in the beginning of the year that I still see Jhiaxus and Dragon Megatron on the selves from time to time
Little bit confused right now . I was watching this video and slid up screen like normal and PiP feature came up without paying Premium. Who can explain me how or this just happens in some certain videos ??
I like how the transformation of this figure combines the aspects of the arms and torso transformation of the original Deluxe figure and the legs transformation of the original Voyager figure, kinda
Original what? It's just Voyager class Optimus Prime from Transformers: Animated if that's what you mean. If you can't find him in a search put 2007 Transformers animated Optimus Prime.
2023 and it’s so blocky. The cartoon design translated to a figure cant be that hard if they did it wayyy back in the 2000s. Just saying. Comes off as lazy to me. But ofc the fanboys will come at me
Where have you been? This is the third phase of the Legacy line. They have never been one to one with the original source material free characters outside of the G1 aesthetic. This is a fusion. The blockiness is intentional. All I know is it has a big chest and a big chin and wide arms so it makes me think, animated optimus Prime.
I never thought of his rocket-axe having design cues from a fire hydrant. If that's the case, it's a pretty cool idea

I'd love that
He transforms almost identical to animated deluxe class figure, I think that's pretty cool!
I'm going to have to look up and overview because I don't remember how that one transforms.
Fantastic transformation... This might be my office pocket toy when it finally drops.
If you pre-order it on Amazon, it's dropped baby!

Technically this is a different reality. Maybe physics works different in the cartoon world so he needed wheels and Generations land

The whole thing with legacy updates is that they're supposed to be chug-ified lol
I just wish his abs were a bit longer. It just looks like the chest directly connects to the crotch, and breaks the whole aesthetic for me.
I mean he look good and I am Animated fan. I got no problem with this toy
No face plate
Ok
I think with today’s technology and how they have been trying for show accuracy they could’ve/should’ve included a faceplate gimmick in their somehow.
I think I'm the only person that doesn't care about the faceplate that much. He barely wore it
Figure : 8/10
The show : 4/10
The only thing missing from this would be the movable face plate for Prime.
