Hey Joe, nice fish! You know I went down to Venice a couple years back and I had trouble hooking up with you but I had a good time caught fish, but pretty hard to find anything that far down like restaurants. I got hooked up with another charter, Tuna Town I think but the boat comes and filled the tank how much I don't know, when we got back in it was filled again. Charter was $2,000, gas was $1,600 (that's a lot for gas) I wanted to fish Swords, but Tuna was it I didn't mind caught 8 first few were midsize, rest were small and were tagged and released.This was Capt. Blake, don't know if you heard of him, but that gas bill seemed way too high, marine fuel is more but that's a lot more. Know it was a way out there but?I was looking to go this year but after the cost of the gas I know I can get better deals elsewhere but this is all the way to FL. If the gas sounds normal I may go back to LA, but I like different fish not all day Tuna. Saw a big Blue Marlin breach, this was a monster and we didn't go after it, can't hurt to try. If you got time can you let me know when some of the popular fish have the best months, I went in summer. Such as deep drop and Swords.
Dunno if it's the same boat but I saw a big ol freeman w that type of livery docked in a canal in siesta key,fl years ago! Dope boat! And what's also funny Zacks rods is made outta the same town my grandmother lived in n just outside the city I grew up! Awesome stuff!

Lol I was thinking the same thing😂😂. I haven't caught a tuna in years but Its just like salmon, you don't want to get the filets wet or rinse it if possible. But if you cut into the belly and that happens probably best to give that a QUICK rinse and pat it dry immediately. Better to gut it before

@joevtfishing I run a 35 hammercat for a private owner out of Sarasota. We run to pulley and howells hook often hes mentioned he wants to do yellowfin tuna with you a few times. Probably next year just trying to figure out the best time of year for it for you guys.
