I got to meet Bill in between sets at the fair in Penscola, FL in the 90's where they were playing with LA Guns. I had seen Firehouse before and was a huge fan of Bill's. He used to have tabs for some of the early stuff on his site and i was hoping he would have a tab for Hold the Dream - there were a couple of parts i just couldn't get to sound good let alone right. I emailed Bill and surprisingly i got a response pretty quick. He said he didn't have plans to do or post a tab for it but if i ever caught him at a show he would happily help me out. Friends, and in some measure myself, thought it had to be someone else handling his PR duties, but either way i thought it was cool that i got a response. Fast forward a couple of years and i get to talk to him and i actually mentioned it and he remembered and then proceeded to talk music to me. Sadly, i was so starstruck by it that all i barely got out more than some nods, say yes and smiling. What a great guy, had a huge impact on me a young guitarist.

I'm listening to them non-Stop Bill leverty is right up there with the best guitar players as far as I can tell. He does a little bit of tapping just like Eddie Van Halen. Guitar players learn from each other. That's the way it works. I love his solo on "reach for the sky".
Dude shreds like a master and knows his music theory. Rare breed. I tried that wide pull off at 14th fret and man it's an 8 fret stretch to the 22nd fret. He makes it look easy. I have XXL hands and can barely do it. The dude is good.

I Love solo of All She Wrote and Firehouse is coming to play in my place, Bangkok for 2 days today and tmr. I'm hoping to see Bill and let him signed my guitar!

I had never listened to Firehouse and I am trying to listen to more of it and I like the leads you play in the music. You mentioned some lead guitar players and I was surprised at how many of them were ones I liked. I would suggest to go back and listen to Cris Oliva from the band Savatage and check out Hall of the Mountain King cd. I think that cd is one of the best I have ever heard.

Yamaha Pacifica, looks custom since they had a deal or something with them. Pacifica’s and all Yamaha guitars are pretty solid though. I’d highly recommend them
Bill Leverty is one of the most underrated 80s style guitarists. Super nice guy and I appreciate his approach to music and his modesty.
