Yeah, I had one.... couldn't hold my head up for 4 days without a splitting headache. I was in school (college) at the time and had to ask by professors if I could turn in my schoolwork a week late. i would say it was bad.
I've had MS for the past 2 decades. It was only until last year that it progressed to Secondary Progressive. I will now have this procedure on March 1. There is a concern that it might be something else
I had one no rings but I still all the symptoms of MS so it seems like there's not really much advantage to it and the test is terrible...it should be mandatory to give a mild sedative to help with the pain.
How can you differentiate between chronic Lyme & MS with CSF? My Lyme titer was IgM positive at 3 months after tick bite, but all negative at 6 months. Tick tested positive for Borrelia general species but negative for Borrelua burgdorferi. I initially tried spinal tap but after 2 sticks with last attempt so painful with nerve running down leg getting zapped that I stopped procedure. A year later after tick, I still have MS like symproms of weak, heavy, achy legs. MRIs a year ago show no lesions but I cant get better after doxycycline & amoxicillin. Have future appt with rheumatologist but don't know who else can help me. Willing to try another spinal tap if it can differentiate between the two.
Dr. Carraro, is absolutely correct. Unless specifically indicated. the lastest MRI's enhanced with Gallilidium Dye, gives such detail as to fairly well make the diagnosis (especially T1 specific revelations). The CSF can be neg. or only slightly containing non-specific results and one can still have MS by Enhanced MRI's along with strongly diagnostic symtomotology. In relying too heavily on the Lumbar Puncture results. One can delay the Diagnosis and thereby specific treatment to bring the episode to a stop and preventing the amount of permenant damage.
That should never have happened. Within days should have received a Blood Patch. If not effective within 48 hrs. a second patch. If not effective Neurosurgery to place a fat patch over the puncture site. In this day and age, there is no reason not to know standard of care and act on it.
Not that bad? The last one i had left me where i couldn't move my head and hurt to move around
I was diagnosed with MS and then wanted me to have a spinal tap, No way.🇦🇺🖤
Why not ?
@@RobdeKlerk-qg6lc why, when specalist already have diagnosed me.

i had a spinal rap for Ms and it came back a false negative resulting in more time wasted before real treatment.

Check your EBV and address dietary issues
I had no.problem my doc was an angel
How long after an exasperation would O rings present?
I've had one.
It was an unpleasant experience
I had one of those "zings" that he mentioned. It caused me to "jump" vertically off the bed
Spinal tap was the worst experience of my life. I needed 2 blood patches. The word migraine is putting it lightly.
They didn’t have you lay flat after? They made me lay down for an hour after mine. No headache but back was sore lol.
Not worth it…
You don't need to know.
Lumbar punctures must have changed in the last 5 years. My neurologist use to say Lumbar punctures were necessary to diagnosis MS.
