I too would find that immensely useful as the more I understand about my MS, the less frightened I feel about it. I realise that many patients feel the opposite way and really would rather know as little as possible as it scares them more and that’s ok xx
It would be awesome if you would map the brain and describe the functions of the different parts. Is it even possible to do a map with related functions? It blows my mind (it actually hurts my brain) to think about mapping out brain function, but it is such an interesting topic.
Thanks Dr. Boster! Yes! I love this format. Understanding what is happening in our brain and CNS helps me by taking away the mystery and scary “unknowns.” Knowledge is power.
These scans are SO interesting! You mentioned in this presentation that sometimes lesions shrink. I'd be interested to know more about what that really means.
Aaron, this was really interesting! I was just diagnosed with CIS and have yet to start any DMTs. I found out about your channel because my mom (who unfortunately passed away from cancer 2 weeks ago) said you were great. She loved watching your videos and enjoyed your sense of humor. Just wanted to let you know you made a positive impact on my mom who was helping me navigate this entire situation and felt compelled to let you know. Thank you again for all you do - it means the most in my life right now!
Very interesting. The technical medical information clarifies a lot of your previous videos and comments. I found this helpful for me because of my limited understand of the physical effects of MS on the brain. Thanks
Love these past videos showing the MRIs!! I’d love to see one going over some of the “fancy doctor talk” and explaining it in a simple way if possible lol
Dr. Boster, hello from Southern Ohio! THANK YOU for your very thoughtful, creative and understandable videos! What a great MS Warrior you are! I’ve had MS since 2011, so I truly appreciate all the advocating you do on behalf of MS patients! I cannot imagine how crazy busy you are with your personal life and practice, yet you care enough to take time and share your wealth of wisdom! THANK YOU for fighting the good fight along with the MS community! God bless you & your family as well as your practice! Tracey
Thank you Dr. Boster! I would love if you talked about the areas of the brain, and some of the symptoms that can be caused, relative to the locations of the brain lesions. 🧡🙏🏼
Yes I had one doctor tell me he's surprised I'm not in a wheelchair after seeing my MRI.. which I hate he told me bc it's all I think about. He even said he double chk to make sure he had the right patient. Maybe go through some MRI'S & tell us what kinda symptoms the patient's have or any additional details about their treatment.
Loved this video and would really like to see more like this. As patients we get told if we have new lesions but for most of us that's all we get told, yet you've just shown us there's so much more that can be observed from MRI scans!
Yes please. This has explained a LOT to me! I have severe disease and have several black holes according to my MS neurologist. This helped me to visualize what is going on! Thank you
This was very interesting and informative. Due to annual insurance changes (not by choice) I have seen several neurologists and never diagnosed, but MS was suspected. I have had several brain MRIs with and without contrast with multiple lesions found. None of the neurologists were able to view all of the MRIs even with my permission.
I love the videos of interpreting MRIs. It makes me more familiar with what I’m looking at when my doctor reviews my MRI results. It makes us all more informed patients. Knowledge is power💪
I love seeing the side by side. I learn something new every day as a transcriptionist. You showed me my MRI in clinic with my 1 lesion and it was very helpful to see it. Not one neurologist ever did that and I had a ton of MRIs. 😊♥️
What I want to know is where the white spots are, how does it affect you? For example, I have a lesion on my brain stem. What symptoms might I experience ?
I have lesions on my brain stem as well. As I understand, they cause more problems than lesions elsewhere in the brain, because there isn't as much possibility for the brain to reroute signals around them.
Are lesions only on certain areas to be considered ms or can you have lesions in any part of brain on white matter? Also can you only have lesions on the brain and not on spine to have ms?
Hi Dr. B Absolutely love this type of learning video! The MRI has always been intriguing for me, being able to watch this with you explaining as you go through different sections/parts of the brain is the best explanation I’ve ever had! Thank you!! Please do more MRI videos. Again thank you Dr.B for all you do for all of us! Regards,
Yes please. It's always good for us to understand what our doctors are talking about. For me, I feel less confused when we talk about my scans in clinic. But, I also have an awesome doctor that dumbs things down for me so that I understand 😉
Hi Dr. Boster, how are you? If someone had lesions on the brain, a normal spinal tap and no lesions on the spine, how many lesions on the brain and what location would determine an MS diagnosis ? I'm learning a lot from you so please post more videos about MRI's. : )
Thank you for the detailed explanation! My colleagues and senior nurses are totally useless. Greetings from Germany! I found it quite helpful! Thank you once again.
Love these. I would really love to see a video that discusses lesions In relation to symptoms. For example, if I have a lesion in the exact same place as someone else, does it mean we will have the same symptom and conversely, whether or not people with the same symptom have a lesions in the same place. 🤷♀️
Thank you Dr Boster this was so helpful when I was looking at my own MRI. My neurologist spent about 4 minutes on my MRI….so I got a copy and went over it with you (using this video) 😁 One of your many videos that have been so incredibly informative.
Thank you for making these videos. You provide us with so much information in words we can understand. I have gone from completely ignorant about my condition, to feeling empowered. I always recommend your channel to anyone with questions about MS. Thank you for everything you do for our community.
Yes, keep showing information in this format. I'm newly diagnosed and everything I can learn helps. I'm trying to get access to my MRI scans and this will certainly help me understand what I'm looking at. Thanks.
Miranda, when I set my MRI appointments up with diagnostic center I ask them right up front if I can have a disk. And when I check in at the fronts desk I remind them I would like a disk (cd) with my images. And as I getting buckled in for the ride I ask the MRI technician if I can have my disk before leaving. I understand the the radiologist may not be able to complete their report that soon & I wouldn't want them to. when im done I think everybody but the parking attendant knows I'm expecting to take home a new CD that day.
Yes, more please! I would be particularly interested in understanding what's being looked at in the spine MRI as I had one yesterday and can't make heads or tails (snicker) of the images. Thanks bunches for all your videos. They've helped me immensely to understand MS and be more proactive in my care and symptom management.
Thank you! Would LOVE to see more of these discussions; I learn so much! Yes, please go down the cervical spine. Is a functional MRI useful? Would like to learn more about those. You are a great teacher! Thanks again!
That is a YES, for me as well. When I got the diagnosis in 2021, I looked for these kinds of images. I wanted to know that what was on my brain, other MS patients had as well. Also that you explain to us what we see, where we see it and what part of our body it’s effect. Last December I had a new attack and instead of being in the brain it was now in my spine. That news freaked me out. As I looked online I could not find the information I wanted. Oke long story short, teach me as much as you can! Thanks for all you have taught me already. You have given me a peace of mind when I have had questions. I wish we had a neurologist like you in the Netherlands.
Love what you do for us. Great explanations, first time I finally have details about lesions. And my neurologist is a ms specialist. Only reading to me the report from the radiologist. Never explain or show mri. So much frustration…
Excellent video!! Thank you so much!! This is exactly the type of video I was in search of when I was first researching MS after my first MRI! Thank you!!
Definitely would like to see more presentations like this morning. Question, is there any rhyme or reason lesions show up in the area of the brain or spine that they do, or is it just random. Always look forward to your Monday morning videos.
One of my.radiology reports described "numerous" lesions. I let my neurologist know that I considered that to.be a total BS description! Numerous? Really? !# So as you move ahead with this excellent series you've got started here, it would be good to hear at what point we stop counting lesions & what sort of a prognosis or outcome that may indicate. I understand now that T1 black holes are more likely sites of greater damage, but if T2 lesions don't advance to T1, could they / should they eventually heal go away & how long might that take? If so, I'd think a lesion inventory & tracking would be important. Maybe my neurologist has never looked at my scans with me bc they aren't sure how well I will or won't be able to handle the "truth"
Thank you, Dr. Boster! That's a great format! It would be very interesting to know person's functional status, as much as it's allowed to protect his/her confidentiality. May I please call your office to make telemedicine appointment to go through my polka dots?
I know that this is an older video, but I am so happy to have found it!! Thank you so very much for doing this!! I am currently in a relapse & have been searching for hours to find any info I could about my current MRI results. I would love to see & learn about C Spine MTIs as well as other MRI studies. This information actually lowers my stress levels as I can understand what is actually happening to me. I'm not sure if others feel that way. I appreciate you more than you know.
More videos- yay! This is really interesting and easy to follow. The names of parts of the brain and what they are associated with would be fun. Also if there are parts where lesions are more noticeable for their effect on the patient’s life than others.
Thank you Dr. Boster! You are a true blessing! Thank you for all the work you do and time you take to keep your viewers informed. Do you have recommendations for neurologist in/near Milwaukee WI? Advocate Aurora system?
Excellent video thanks. I love looking at my MRIs before I get the report to see if I can work out what it’s going to say. I know not much and I would love to see more of these videos. Btw since having Lemtrada in 2017 nothing at all has shown up new on scans. Fully awesome ,, thanks for making MS interesting:-)
Dear doctor, I am impressed by your knowledge on the area of MS and I do appreciate you sharing so much information with us. I have had debilitating and worsening symptoms for 15 years and I have been unable to walk for a year now. Finally, I found a doctor that listened to me (Neurologist) and ordered tests and a brain MRI. It seems there’s miscommunication between my doctor and the radiologist regarding my symptoms and MRI findings, which are not normal and show lesions. I live in Florida and I’d love to be able to have your opinion but I don’t know if that would be something remotely possible…I hope so, I really need a light and someone knowledgeable to finally give me answers to my debilitating long conditions. I will be looking forward to your kind comments
Yes please, I’d love a video where you describe the parts of the brain and how lesions can affect them
I too would find that immensely useful as the more I understand about my MS, the less frightened I feel about it.

I would enjoy this too. I find it extremely interesting whenever my neurologist speaks about locations and my impairments.
That split-screen was a great idea, seeing on right which "floor" that cut on the left is from. Yes, yes, yes!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks Dr. Boster! Yes! I love this format. Understanding what is happening in our brain and CNS helps me by taking away the mystery and scary “unknowns.” Knowledge is power.
Excellent!
I would like to see more of both Brain and Spine
Great video, I wish my Neuro had the time and patience to step through like this with me!
These scans are SO interesting! You mentioned in this presentation that sometimes lesions shrink. I'd be interested to know more about what that really means.
Aaron, this was really interesting! I was just diagnosed with CIS and have yet to start any DMTs. Thank you Aaron Boster MD, most informative.
These are my favorite videos! Thank you so much!
This was an awesome video. Really enjoyed your commentary here!
I find this format very useful so keep it up and the more the merrier. Thanks again for all you do, it's much appreciated.
As an MS patient, your videos are easy to understand, thank you.
You're welcome
As always, excellent job explaining this to us. Thankyou again and have a great day.
I was wondering though how the lesions in certain areas affect our functions.

I have lesions on my brain stem as well. As I understand, they cause more problems than lesions elsewhere in the brain, because there isn't as much possibility for the brain to reroute signals around them.
This explains a lot and helps make sense of MRIs. Would like to see more. The blue line showing the “floor” gives a very sense of location.
Very informative.
Glad you think so!
This was great! I would love to see more videos like this.
Are lesions only on certain areas to be considered ms or can you have lesions in any part of brain on white matter? Also can you only have lesions on the brain and not on spine to have ms?

Fascinating format and yes please on cervical spines!
THIS was fantastic and Very Informative. Like to see more of the brain/spine and what brain/spine functions are affected by a lesion.

Yes. this was great! Thank you!
That was great, look forward to more. I would like it if you explained the different areas of the brain
Noted!
This was good keep it up!
Great video, would love to see a cervical spine one. Thanks.
fantastic information, helped me understand a bit more
I loved the video it was brilliant well Explained I have been learning about the Endo crying system at the minute love it
This is very helpful! A video on the different brain parts and what each area is responsible for would be helpful!
More please!!!!!

Is there a way to tell the age of a black hole. - is it newer in the past month? Thanks
Absolutely fascinating as always. You're the man! what else can I say besides thank you for all you do. 🙏

Excellent video!! Thank you so much!! This is exactly the type of video I was in search of when I was first researching MS after my first MRI! Thank you!!
Yes, love it!
Would you say this MRI indicates very early or low burden of disease?
This helped me find some of the lesions I couldn't see on my first viewing, thank you.
Definitely would like to see more presentations like this morning.
Question, is there any rhyme or reason lesions show up in the area of the brain or spine that they do, or is it just random.
