I've actually been watching your videos for sometime, I like the style of your videos - your channel has been mentioned countless times on my livestreams by folks who watch it too. I'd be happy to do a collaboration of some sort 🙃
I know this is late to ask and probably childish, but out of curiosity, which Thomas the tank engine the character do you prefer more? Tv or Railway series?
I suggest a train you could get and i know you have a lot, if you can get your hand on one its called the Reading T-1 2102 Lionel Legacy, look up a video on it, its really nice!
I feel like the answer for what scale is yes Because depending on what I feel like I could pull out HO,S,O,G,LEGO or if I really want to I can pull out full size Instead of messing with model trains why not mess with actual trains
I have a prewar 763e should I consider trying to refurbish it? The tender has these weird paint chipping on the side that kind of resemble if it was shot at in miniature. Is it worth it? Will is be extremely expensive? Would it devalue the locomotive significantly? Any answers would help😊
That's a good question and you'll probably get lots of different answers. My opinion (obviously without seing your 763e) is if the paint on the engine and tender is 85% intact or better leave it alone. From 70% to 80% percent I'd say it's a judgement call as in get some opinions from locals in your area, a train show's a good place to start. If the finish is 65% or less I'd say do what you want. Again, just my opinion. Others may disagree and that's fine. I've refinished two of my Post-Wars, a 736 and a 2065. The original finishes were rough and lifeless and besides Post-Wars aren't bringing the money they were a few years back anyway so I didn't see the harm in indulging myself.
I'm tempted to say "Just do it!" but I'm sure you need a little more than that! So, the quickest and easiest way to do it is find a used ping-pong table. Ping-pong tables are typically 5' X 9' and are large enough for a nice O Gauge layout but still small enough to move around without too much trouble. Check thrift shops or used furniture shops for ping-png tables, maybe garage sales as well. Or you can build your own table, there's books available through hobby shops that will tell you how to do it, all you need are basic carpentry skills. It's not hard.
Hey Chris, congrats on another great video! My question to you is, do you ever get a moment to take a break and enjoy other model train videos? If so, here's one you might enjoy. Ok you asked! Why not O Scale? Easy. 3 rails. I personally prefer S Scale. If I did O Scale it would be 2 rail O. Now my question for you. My S Scale has American Flyer with TMCc and Legacy engines and some MTH S Scale with Proto 3. Both brands are DCC ready Although limited sounds . So my Question to you is, do you think I should just go with a DCC system instead of buying all the stuff to run both systems? Also most of my older American Flyer has been converted to DC can motors which could easily have a dcc decoder added for Lights and Motor control. What say you Chris? Thanks for all your videos and the great things you do for our hobby. @ Cbtrainnut on UA-cam! Enjoy York!
I mainly run O scale but I also have HO scale, S scale, N Scale, and even Hornby UK OO scale and Lionel Prewar OO scale. Disclaimer: Lionel Prewar OO scale is not the same as Hornby UK OO scale as the Lionel Prewar OO scale runs on its own OO scale track that is 3/4 inch or 19 mm gauge track compared to HO and Hornby UK OO scale trains that run on 16.5 mm gauge track. Speaking of Lionel prewar OO scale, its really neat with the hudson, freight cars, and the bakelite roadbed the track came with. If you can't find the original Lionel prewar OO scale track thats alright its not common to find these days but gargraves has their own american OO scale track in both 2 rail and 3 rail forms at the gardner the train doctor website
