- A first look at the Instant Action Create Scenario Options.
With the vast scope of the Inner Sphere and its complex system of world generation providing huge variety and replayability, the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries experience need never end. Outside the campaign, a fully-featured Instance Action system will allow you to customize and kick off isolated missions at any time, free from campaign restrictions.

I Like how the armor melts off in molten showers and collects on the ground. Which is only something depicted to me in the novels until now. Nice detail.

i believe i heard last year that they plan to have it where you play a good portion of the timeline, which included the clans
@@Ninjanoto2 The timeline ends at 3049, before the Clan Invasion, but they did express interest in an expansion
I'd likely buy that expansion. Actually, I'm good with pretty much any BT era single-player game setting for MW or BT squad formats. I know there's some complaint about Clans or WoB and such "runining" BT, but for me it's all interesting lore and setting for SP video game content. In fact, a WoB era MW/BT game would be quite interesting; or some Amaris related. Or...MW5 heh.
Just no interest in online arenas, or playing insta-action (need the whole product not just the combat). Seeing it sampled here is fine though, thanks!
Can we have a single Mechwarrior game that *doesn't* include the Clans? Please? As an IS player, I have no intention of getting fucked over every mission because of the bullshit tech gap.

and mechwarrior 3 happens during the late stages of the counterattack vs the clans in which the inner sphere have made significant technological advances that lets them overcome this gap
Even in MWO IS have had consistent advantages over the clans in several areas for some time now

Well, it looks like the UI is at least getting some final looking speed and temp indicators, but it is still a big step back from the previous version, from MWO's version, and a giant leap back from the prototype version.
Looks like there wasnt any UI designer involved. Just thrown together basic buttons, like a programmer would do for a barely functional mock up.
I like the biome selection. It's a good start. I would like to see an "Airless Moon" option sometime.

Champion didn't make it in the game, but I imagine we'll see it later on
Lasers looks stronger (FX) here than in demo? If that if a YES much better! :) And please place again the startup voice sounds "...systems nominal" Really miss that in demo. Also it can be nice if the voice of the mission briefing starts after you go outside the dropship, now it mix with the voice inside the dropship (alerting you are about to go out) and you can't hear both well. Many thanks!

I dunno I liked the lighter beams, looked more realistic, less Saturday Cartoon.
@@Rawsilver Looks too much like a laser pointer. The heat these things are outputting would flash heat any particles in the air, which is what gives the bright beam
Think that is a night time effect, no night missions in the demo.

Don't worry Epic games is going to promote this game more than Steam so Steam users are not going to get the chance to purchase it. I don't know why someone would chose exposure to people that will not purchase the game over giving access to those that want to spend their money on this title.

The menus looks super basic, like stock Unreal Assets basic, but the options are plentiful and will keep people busy!
Sound track for this game better be at least as good as the original game. This is a good start. Or even just remix some of the songs from Mercs2
Is it too much to hope that eventually we get an Arma 3 style map builder. place objectives, enemy spawn points, ect? Would be a good final DLC. Just a suggestion.
How does COOP work, are we able to build a merc company with friends or is it just instant action/skirmish in coop?

Do the mechs take damage from crashing into the environment? I see a lot of stomping through buildings.
Yes. Don't get stuck in a reactor going critical, either.

Not really, but in the beta I have taken some damage from stepping on a vehicle, as it should be from its ensuing explosion. And yeah. Do NOT get stuck in a mech's reactor explosion, it won't kill you, but the damage ain't pleasant either

I feel like it will be announced sometime in 2020 or 2021(mechcon maybe?) but in my opinion it would be better to port over MWO and everyone keeps their stuff and call it MWO2
quick play would be randomly generated maps(they have the tech now why not). and then other stuff can follow, and if they do it the smart way where everyone keeps their stuff make FP require subscription and completely overhaul it all with tanks and aerospace stuff included in the battles(maybe entirely combined arms like living legends?) there is a lot of unique ways to make FP feel like an actual war and worth paying a sub to partake in. But they have to retain the IP and I think MW5 has to sell well enough for them to retain it, otherwise Russ would of already said they have retained it when asked about it.

Since you went to Epic and screwed a bunch of peeps , i ave decided it not worth it to buy this product. Too bad you didn't play the Mechwarrior games from Microsoft or you would have a much better idea of how to do this game.
I got the preorder for my birthday, and I've been playing the demo since it came out.
It's right up there with the other MW games in terms of how missions play out, and that's just the Instant Action missions they have you play in the demo. There's also a wider variety of mech variants compared to the other MechWarrior games.
It's great that you and the rest of the "hurr durr we hate China" gang want to bash PGI for going to Epic, but you'd complain even more if they didn't go to Epic Games to get more money to hire artists and afford localization at launch and instead released an unfinished product on Steam.
We get it, you hate Epic, you hate China. You're gonna pirate the game. Good for you.
Let the rest of us actually enjoy the game in peace, and we'll (maybe) see you in a year.

Epic games has been shafting gamers since they have introduced exclusive titles. I along with everyone I know will not use Epic Games and many copies of games that otherwise would have been sold are not purchased until they go on sale many months if not years later. Epic sucks and has only hurt the sales of the exclusives they profit off of. How many copies of RDR2 do you think Steam is going to sell? When the numbers come out on Steam it will only highlight how many more copies Epic has cost the developer/publisher. You think supporting a communist run company is cool then that is on you too, Epic does not put their profits back into the platform and the difference in quality between the platforms is testament to that.
Everything looks great except the UI. It's so ugly, basic and uninspired. There's an old MW5 video with a much prettier UI.

I can't wait to not play this game, Epic Games won't get my money nor will the developers of this game because of their Epic decision to not sell it through the game service that I as well as millions others choose to use. Making MW5M exclusive to a company I won't buy from only diminishes your over all sales and for what? More promotion on a front page? People that want this game do not need extra front page promotion. the game would have sold itself through the top seller list, the reviews and word of mouth. Good luck with the limited sales you are going to enjoy by restricting its sale to a company I and millions of others will never support.
