I have one suggestion. When comes to wipes I use Wet Ones in the round plastic containers. You pull the wipes thru the lid. 40 wipes per container. When you finish a container you can pour left over solution into next container which helps next container of wipes stay more wet. Then rinse out empty container and use for storage ( change, keys, cash etc.). I’m a truck driver these wipes really came in handy when my hands got dirty and I hand no place to wash them. Also, I found they were great for cleaning my steering wheel. Hope this helps.
An awesome setup! I'm here for the sleeping platform ideas, your drawers are the best I've seen coming from a non-professional on YT. Couldn't tell this was a first-time woodworking project.
Nice set up , u did an amazing job on the drawer organizer/kitchen in and back! I'm looking forward to see how well the awning works over the kitchen area.
So clever to precook meals and freeze in packs. I don't understand how I couldn't think of that before😂The rooftop awning is great!! You are well prepared to make the best of an outing🥰
Great information. I'll have to re watch this when I go camping. Most likely getting my Bronco or 4runner next year then will be doing this can't wait.
Good stuff! I know that we have never met, but I wanted to let you know that I am proud of you. Many people, when it comes to using power tools for the first time, would tap out and just hire a company to complete their build. You set a goal and nailed it. In my 4Runner. I installed a Rig'd rear tire carrier(which I noticed you installed) and a Long Range America 24 gallon auxiliary gas tank. The gas tank is expensive, no lying there. I can spend weeks in the wild with proper water filtration and a decent amount of food. Having 47 gallons(23 stock/24 auxiliary) of fuel on hand helps tremendously. And, no fuel pax/jerrys to deal with. Safe travels and much health for you both... Cheers.
Wow! Thank you so much! Also, your rig sounds awesome! We definitely will be adding a water tank (thinking the wheel shaped ones that go in the stock spare tire mount), maybe one day we'll install a fuel system like yours, it sounds awesome! First we will add larger tires and a rear locking dif, then my next attempt at a DIY will be a super low profile rooftop tent made from extruded aluminum and aluminum composite with a clamshell hybrid design. I've grown tired of sleeping next to dirty dogs! lol
Wow, that is an amazing setup and you are so organized and your cabinets are incredible! I wish you had a gear list so I could get a lot of the things you have. And also, those cabinets are so slick that I'd pay you for the materials list and plans!
Vert organized, like the use of packing cubes etc to keep things organized. Good job on including the coffee pour over, no reason to be a coffee savage in the out doors. Cheers.
Very impressive. I just got a new 4Runner and I’ve been searching U-Tube for 4Runner outfitting ideas and I found your channel. It is one of the best I’ve seen. Well done. I subscribed to see if the rest of your content is as interesting and informative. I would be interested in seeing more details about your sleeping platform and the awning. Thanks for sharing your setup, I’m looking forward to your adventures. Also, what are the laws pertaining to carrying your shotgun and handgun in parks and across state lines. I would imagine there’s not much problem in Montana, but big problems in California and New York. I would appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Bravo on that drawer system! Have you considered using Velcro on the underside of your lids? Then maybe mount some led light strips that trigger when you open them. Or even mounting any other lightweight items that way. Thanks for the video and the inspiration. Just got my 5th gen a week ago. 3rd 4runner I've owned (3rd and 4th gen previously). I didn't have the rig out bug until this one though!
Great setup! You should be proud of you drawer system, it looks super well done and thought out! Really inspiring! I’m having a hard time justifying buying a rtt too. I was just wondering what you do with your coolers at night when you’re sleeping in the truck? Also which hitch mounted tire swing out do you guys have? 😎
Great video. I especially liked your drawer system. Probably one of the most efficient designs I’ve seen. Would you mind sharing where you sourced your drawer slides and hinges? Good stuff.
For a small price, you could add the glovebox organizer on Amazon. I see you are in CA, me too. I’m just starting my build. I want to make the build out that you made. Great job.
I really like this setup a lot it’s simple, nothing to hard to do makes life easy . How did you make your bed setup and your drawer underneath it? Could you give a parts list to everything in this video and links please thanks.
Great build your is the most organized I have ever seen I like all the small pack bags to keep things separated and organized. One question I noticed your rear windows trim panels are missing 13:06 ,do they just snap off & on, if not how to they attach? I am asking because one of mine is a bit loose and I am wondering if water will get in and mess things up.
Hi from Australia. I just came across your video and thought you might like to look at my set up and camp locations in Australia including camp cookups. Cheers Craig Out There Touring
Hey is there some schematics or guide for building that roll out kitchen/storage? I’m so impressed with what you did. I have a 2016 SR5 and could really use that setup. We go camping alot
Really enjoyed your tour! I sleep in my 4Runner too, so I appreciate many of your ideas and suggestions. I do wonder, how do you like your awning now? Since this video is 2 years old, I'm curious how it's working for you? Happy New Year!
Great set up and you did an amazing job on the carpentry work! Did you change the suspension to handle the extra weight? Do you have a plan to fit a fridge in there somewhere? If so, where? Thanks
What type of roof rack? I bought screens for my windows so no mosquitoes. Bought an extra mosquito net with some round magnets for back window. Now I need solar, refrigerator and a portable ac. I want that roof rack and out some yellow amber lights for dusty roads.
I have an '05. Where did you find the awning? It's cool! And, your storage system made me drool a lil !🤣 You mentioned shedding...I've found that a lightweight t-shirt helps ! 😊 Happy trails !!
I love that you care about the environment and take the time to be ethical about it. I cringe when I hear about people coming to Idaho. Our environment has truly suffered because of the covid invasion. I find myself picking up other people's trash when I could be hiking or exploring. Thank you and thank you to anyone that reads this that also does their part.
Very informative thank you. Very nice set-up. 😁 I was wondering, do you have worries about keeping your gasoline on the roof of the vehicle in direct sunlight on hot days?
Thanks! I haven't worried about storing the gas on top during hot days. The fuelpax containers are super super durable and meant for off roading applications. We've never had any leaks or anything and we even took them to Death Valley. So far so good!
Great ! But where do you store what’s on your bed at night ? Bears and racoons are waiting for the coolers outside !!!! By the way, check the Acopower Lioncool Pro. It’s THE way to go.
Do you find that the SR5 is good enough to get you thru most offroad trails? Looking at getting one but not sure if I should get the TRD or regular SR5 version.
The awning is the Overland Vehicle Systems nomadic 270. I bought it 20 percent off on campsaver.com The tire swing out is the RIG'D Ultraswing. It has the front runner table on it.
@@Slick_Shot_Sam thanks! If you want to access the back of the 4Runner, you have to mount it pretty high, so I know lots of ppl prefer the 180 for this reason. We wanted coverage and rain protection over the back where we cook so opted for 270. We're waiting for some folding awning brackets to lower the profile of the awning when we are not using it though.

Great job on the platform and storage, love that kitchen..well done , could you share your plan/ drawing and part list?
It’s very impressive.
Wow!! That drawer/kitchen build is amazing!! So well done! ❤️
Well done. Very organized. You carry a lot of gear AND 2 dogs. I am impressed with your rig, Kit, and practices. Good job. Be safe and we’ll.
Great video Lauren, I’ve been wanting to get into overlanding. I really like how you put in effort to make everything eco or multi-purpose
Keep these videos coming! I always like to get ideas about where to visit in the southwest by watching others. Letting others do the recon for me. :)
An awesome setup! I'm here for the sleeping platform ideas, your drawers are the best I've seen coming from a non-professional on YT. Couldn't tell this was a first-time woodworking project.
Really love your logical approach. Great info and good content! Thanks!
Great video!! Well done! I look forward to seeing y’all’s adventures!
What a great setup. Kudos on the drawer system!
Love the kitchen setup, it’s going to help me with mine when i start building it, thank you 🙏 😊

OUTSTANDING drawer system!!! Well done friends!!!

Super well thought out!

So I’m watching random 4Runner videos and I see someone I know lol. Nice work Lauren. Adventure is out there!
Love your setup.

I would love to get my hands on those blueprints for that storage unit!

Hello, loved the video and was curious what model and brand shade awning you had installed on the roof of your 4runner? Thank you much

Nice This video works played at 1.5 speed.
Thank you for sharing! Where did you get the mattress any info on it would be appreciated
Great set up and you did an amazing job on the carpentry work! Did you change the suspension to handle the extra weight? Do you have a plan to fit a fridge in there somewhere? If so, where? Thanks
great info did you come up with the drawer system yourself or use plans? Looking to build something similar so any info would be great. Thanks
Would you share your design? You did a really good job
I love this! Well done! how hard is it to remove the platform/drawers and go back to the rear seat?
I love your drawer system with the coffee table! How far do your drawers go into the truck? Do they only take up the trunk space?
I've got a blue heeler and a 4runner! 😉
Awesome
Awesome set up 👍🏻
Could you place a link to some of the products you have? ie storage boxes on roof, awning, etc
Thanks! Sure, I can do that for you! I'll update the description with some links soon!
Which brand awning to you have there? Love your sleep setup and your pull out drawers and kitchen.
what is the link for your awning?
great set up!!
Have you changed anything around? Can you do a follow up video? Considering going from a full size truck to a smaller rig for the wife and I.
Which 270° awning is that? Looks like just what I need!!
I just got a 4Runner and have been looking for some ideas-got a lot from watching!
Great rig! can you tell me how you got black factory rims? I have the same rims in silver & I am thinking about powder coating them black. Thanks!
What type of roof rack? I bought screens for my windows so no mosquitoes. Bought an extra mosquito net with some round magnets for back window. Now I need solar, refrigerator and a portable ac.
I want that roof rack and out some yellow amber lights for dusty roads.
using water is more clean i hope more and more ppl do it.
Can we get your plans for your pop up coffee table slide out drawer?
I have an '05. Where did you find the awning? It's cool! And, your storage system made me drool a lil !🤣 You mentioned shedding...I've found that a lightweight t-shirt helps ! 😊 Happy trails !!

where did you get those pop up hinges?

What’s the long gear box you have on the roof? That looks perfect for something I need.
is that a molle panel on the inside of your rear window? looks great for storage.
We’ll done with ur storage box build
Where did you get that awesome awning?
4runner is the Land Cruiser Prado.
What brand is your roof rack? BTW-- great video, thanks for sharing!

No cold food storage though? That is a LOT of stuff to carry on the daily though. Any idea how much weight you've added?
What is the awning you have on the 4Runner?
What brand is your swing away hitch? Could you link it!
What is the shower and filtration system?
What type of swing out hitch is that?
What software did you use to model the drawer? Thank you!
where did you get your swing out hitch ?

What's the brand/model of the awning and tire swing-out? Sweet rig!
The awning is the Overland Vehicle Systems nomadic 270. I bought it 20 percent off on campsaver.com
The tire swing out is the RIG'D Ultraswing. It has the front runner table on it.
@@laurenashleyga thanks for the response. I might be in the market for a 180 awning soon. Just waiting on another sale from OVS. Solid set-up!
