Speaking to “bad” spells/tools: there’s a segment of the community that likes to challenge themselves by using objectively bad offensive options. Handmaid’s Ladle. Broken Straight Sword. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the bad ones are designed with those players in mind.
Sekiro prosthetics are one of the only one of these that I'll consistently use in most playthroughs. Probably because there's a dedicated button (R2) and the game's enemies were built to have weaknesses to them (like Lady Butterfly to shuriken, Guardian Ape to loaded spear, etc). Also, there's no stat cost, in the other games I play melee builds most of the time.
Yeah they’re very fun and can make the game easier but I still feel the fact that they’re situational and not designed as a primary option made it get lower on the list for me
Cool thing about Old Moonlight, is that it true combos (or used to) with Heysel's pick. I think you needed at least 40 dex and/or the ring that boosts cast times, but you could do a swing of heysel, and then a cast of old moonlight right after, and you could buff it with heysel's weapon art. I loved it on my sub 100 sorcerer.
Something to note about DS2 Pyro and Hex is that they synergise with each other due to both of them using Faith and Intelligence. So on their own they're okay but mixing them is really good.
Hexes only scale off of both INT and FTH when they are kept even. Otherwise, it will only count the lower of the two. Pyromancies scale off of both to the same softcap, regardless of distribution. This means that any Sorcerer, Cleric, or Hexer will also be a great Pyromancer, but the reverse is not necessarily true.
Elden ring dragon incantations might be the most fun I’ve had in any souls game also fire giants spells are fun asf. Buffing up before a boss then breathing magical dragon breath that deals a shit ton of damage is amazing
Shout out to the wraith calling bell having the really niche use of being able to self-proc carian retaliation and the erdtree greatshield weapon skill. Also why is Youwy a lizard with the moonlight gs in the Sekiro section lol.
Regal Omen bairn is a massive let down because I thought the omen set will make that tool extremely good, and it kinda does but it’s so much stat investment for it to work. literally i clocked in at RL 220 on a character planner for Regal omen Bairn to even work. the tools in elden ring are a massive let down and i do wish they get buffed because i find them really creative and want to build around them. Just all of them suck and the only one that doesn’t suck needs copiums amount of stat investment
I wouldn't ever suggest DS2 Pyromancies by themselves, but at the same time would rank it incredibly high for one little detail: There are no requirements for Warmth aside from having an Attunement slot and a Pyromancy glove. And Warmth doesn't care about bad scaling, since you're not doing damage with it. Every build has a use for Warmth, from full caster to unga bunga man with big stick. Single player characters will love being able to use safe spots as pseudo-bonfires. Co-op characters will love keeping both themselves and their allies in fighting shape. Invaders will love keeping enemies and the Mirror Knight alive, as well as forcing king-of-the-hill scenarios where everyone tries to force everyone else out of the heal zone. There was so much versatility in that one silly little spell. I was so hyped when it came back in 3 -- aligned with the Mound Makers, a faction it might as well have been designed for -- then was so disappointed to learn that it went from needing no investment to needing all the investment.
To defend the Tanto from Sekiro, it’s more for a player who’s really good at the game. Since it’s meant to be more of a late game item, you’ll most likely have it after unlocking the skill that restores health after a death blow, that and you could combine with the Yasha Sugar that reduces your HP to half while buffing the overall damage you can deal. (Of course use Tanto *then* Sugar to technically get back to full health.) Imo Ceremonial Tanto isn’t something to be used on its own and is better when working with other items and buffs.
While Pyromancies in DS2 are hit and miss in pve Its fun as hell to use them in pvp. I especially love Chaos storm/Outcry and fire snake. They are so good when they flip the opponent on his ass when they hit so I can try to catch them with a great combustion or great fireball.
Got an idea for a tier list, ranking weapons by where they're found. Particularly a tier list of the limgrave weapons would be great for new game playthroughs
If you’re taking suggestions for rankings, would you ever do a ranking of every damage type in each game like you did for Elden ring? You could even do a big compilation at the end like this video ranking all of them in the series. That’d probably take a lot of time so I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t want to.
Pyromancy, Miracles, Incantations, and Miracle Hexes for me. Also a good sword or greatsword that’s light and has a good moveset. Think Blasphemous,Astora, Lothric Straight, ect.
ngl, i hope the ER dlc adds more tools and a talisman that buffs tool damage to make them worthwhile, best one is wraithcalling bell because it has strong homing and long range. and that's all it has in it's favor
I will say one thing you missed abiut bloodbornes arcane stat is that every weapon scales with it, as long as you gem it for elemental damage, some of the best weapons have super good arc scaling too, like ludwigs holy blade, and some that are overlooked like the threaded cane can really shine on an arc build
Fire Spray is the most fun spell to use in any of these games imo. Being able to use it while freely walking or sprinting around is awesome. It's like you're playing through DeS with a machine gun.
4:30 Thinking about it now I feel like the grind for the prosthetic upgrades is kind of Sekiro's way of giving you something new out of NG+ outside of higher difficulty/getting new endings.
Tools can become broken , ginomachino showed us that with just talismans and the set up . He didnt even level up for damage just like 2 buffs . But other than that this is a very good video bro . I appreciate your take on this.
Seeing youwy talk about how insanely garbage the tools in elden ring are makes me happy. I think there needed to be more attention given to them so they could be patched to do even slightly ok damage.
I think the Dark Souls 3 pyromancies were ranked a little lower than they should be. For PvE, Chaos Bed Vestiges and Great Chaos Orb trivialized to much of the game. I'd argue that they were much easier to use than crap like Soul Stream as well.
Imo i would swap ds2 sorc with ds 3 at least if we are only talking about base game cuz of one factor only ds2 bosses are a lot more clanky and slower the ds 3 ones so you get more leeway to cast spells but still great list
Elden Ring, Sorceries>Incatations. Sorceries ghave better dmg to FP ratio, quicker cadting and more reliable. You forgot to mention thst sorceries have answers to every type of enemy. Gravity( physical), cold( frosbite), magma( fire) and the rest of it( magic).
Youwy, you honestly think Dark damage is bad in DS III? Couldn’t disagree more. Dark Damage is the best elemental damage type in the game. Great vid, but have to disagree on that one.
Thought the exact same thing. Practically every boss besides Midir and Gael doesn't resist it. And bosses like Vordt, Freide and Nameless are very weak to it. I have no idea what he's talking about.
@@YEY0806 💯 correct. Couldn’t agree more. I think people give up on miracles early when they have Faith at lvl 20 and They try Lightning Spear for the first time early game and it does like 139 damage. But when you start getting ur Faith up to 40, 50 and ideally 60, the Lightning spells starting hitting like a freight train. Faith runs really don’t begin until u get Lightning Stake in Smouldering Lake. Especially w/ Canvas Talisman w/ poise buff. It’s a wrap from that point forward.
@skipjacks85 Yeah, it's even better when combined with strength as weapons like LGS with Lightening infusion and the DGA. Seriously that weapon art is a nuke
@@skipjacks85 And Dorhys Gnawing in Irithyll after that is just a cheat code. Dark Damage and 210 Bleed? It invalidates any boys that's weak to either of those.
Nah Dark Souls 2 Hexes are goated, the slight inconvenience of having to upgrade two catalysts is irrelevant because not only does the game shower you with materials, even slabs, you can just choose one, and with Resonant Soul and Dark Orb being acquired at the start of the game you literally get carried to the end game... Also, the "too high slot/stat requirements" is also pretty inconsequential because the very best Spells are the cheapest ones and everything else is just a bonus to variety but you also can Incense Spells with Spices to have lower stat requirements... I wouldve placed it right below Dark Souls 1 Sorceries.
Why did this channel just disappear for like a day bro. Like I needed his videos so I searched him up but I just could not find him fsr like what the hell??
Am i wrong for wanting an update that nerfs damage scaling in Elden Ring. It just feels so empty when someone is doing a playthrough and every boss just gets deleted because oops 80 int stat.
I disagree with dark souls 3 pyromacies, they are actually the best out of all spells cuz they have biggest vareity of options and lots of enemies are weak to fire damage and ,fire damage can be boosted up absurdly high with rings and spells can deal 1000 of damage in 1 cast, also diffrent types of damage can make more enemies trivial.
Bro what? Sorcery in dark souls 3 is trash compared to miracles and pyromancy. I mean yeah theres less variety but god forbid if 90% percent of the bosses resist magic why is it the best in your book? Gonna watch the rest of the video and hear your points. Ahhh, pestilent mist, yeah percentile damage is nuts. Still chaos vestiges is better. Yeah completely agree with that last one, incantations in elden ring go crazy.
True, pyromancies and miracles are ridiculously viable in DS3. Sorceries are alright, namely Pestilent Mist/Mercury, Great Soul Dregs, and farron flash sword are great, but nowhere near the damage output miracles and pyromancies can dish out.
I think crystal soul spear can be just as good as chaos vestiges as it goes through enemies. Also there's just as many bosses resist to fire as magic damage.
@@youwy yeah but the setup required is insane, the amount of levels that go into int and the rings and the dusk crown to get good damage, meanwhile chaos vestiges is easlily accessible, requires only 20 int and can be implemented into basically any build for a small investment.
Well I’ve used both in by miracle playthroughs and ds3 wrath of gods was just better. More range, damage, can walk around while using it and it had a similar casting speed
How is Dark Bead not number 1? You don't need any buffs or any other fancy stuff from for example Elden Ring's incantations. You just need to press R1 two times and the boss is dead. Pure simplicity.
Speaking to “bad” spells/tools: there’s a segment of the community that likes to challenge themselves by using objectively bad offensive options. Handmaid’s Ladle. Broken Straight Sword. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the bad ones are designed with those players in mind.

Plus, style points for using them smartly
Yeah they’re very fun and can make the game easier but I still feel the fact that they’re situational and not designed as a primary option made it get lower on the list for me
Your list is mostly ok but prosthetics deserve to be higher, such as the umbrella. Sabimaru and suchy

Shows how much they put into Elden ring, so cool how there’s so many schools of magic
Can’t wait for the DLC ranking videos and glad to have you back ❤
Oo, btw the dark pyromancies do deal split damage - half fire and half dark.
Once you learn how to weave Sekiros tools into combat its like a magical dance.
They're definitely some of the most fun abilities to have in any fromsoft game
