The year is 1994 in Manhattan where a precious artifact previously donated by David Xanatos (Liam Neeson) "The Eye of Odin" has been stolen by a Gargoyle-like figure. Elisa (Kristin Kreuk) realizing the lie Xanatos is plotting in order to make the city turn their back on the Gargoyles, she does whatever it takes to protect them. While the Gargoyles try to hide in the shadows to prevent being attacked by the city people, Xanatos deploys his new form of attack. The gargoyles rush in for a confrontation with Xanatos, but find themselves confronting something nobody expected.

Just been announced, Disney have given Marvel the reins to bring Gargoyles to the big screen in a live action version, penned for 2017 and was announced at San Diego Comic-Con apparently (though I cannot confirm this).. However Marvels Studio head Kevin Feige has stated they are working with Disney to bring something in 2017 and it rhymes with Shmargoyles... So read into that what you will.

Cryten1974 It was posted on April 1...sorry dude April fools. I think the only problem is that Gargoyle is more of a serious movie and it seems that sci-fi/super hero movies that take themselves too seriously aren't that successful, with the exception to be the Dark Knight.
I love this -- although Xanatos should be younger and I always pictured Ms Zoe Saldana as Elisa Maza-- BUT THANK YOU FOR THIS! A live action of Gargoyles NEEDS to exist and Disney is INSANE for not seeing that!! One small fan step for the fandom, one step closer to seeing it happen!!

This is one of the best fan-made trailers I've seen in a while, though it tugs at the old heart strings... I wish they'd make a movie (and not ruin the original style).
This is for all the new generations that have found Gargoyles and this wonderful created trailer. S8.org is a website with comments from one of Gargoyles original writers and creators Greg Wiseman. There has been an ongoing section call Asked Greg that was started by a fan named Gorbash back in the early 1990s when the show first came out. In the Ask Greg section fans can ask direct questions to Greg about Gargoyles and the other shows he has worked on. Including the recent Amazing Spider-Man and young justice series. There is an Ask Greg archive where fans can look up questions he has answered about Gargoyles biology, culture religion, characters you name it. For all you new Gargoyles fans this place is where you can go to learn new news on Gargoyles. There was a series of comics released a couple of years ago that came out as a result of Greg pulling the fans interest in and showing the fan base to Disney execs. I've been a fan of Gargoyles since it came out when I was a younger. There used to be events called Gatherings basically Gargoyles com icons where Greg and actors who voiced the characters in the series would come and meet with fans. I always wanted to go but didn't get to. From what I have read over the years they were absolutely awesome. This is just a ramble but I figure y'all new folks might not be aware of this stuff so I thought I would but it out there.

This is so unbelievably bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no clue why disney never made a film but i swear this trailer should be taken to the execs and pitched as a draft of what a live action version of Gargoyles should be like! considering we got the technology now to create films like "Avatar" and "dawn of the planet of the apes".. a gargoyles film is beyond possible!

This is funny as hell. Using Kristin Kreuk's Catherine Chandler clips from Beauty and the Beast from the CW. She is actually who I was thinking would make a great Elisa Maza after I first saw her on the first episode of B&TB. She plays an NYPD cop so well in that show even kicks ass in that show like Elisa. Kristin Kreuk actually has two racial backgrounds like Elisa (with a quarter of an extra BG from her grandmother), and her character Catherine fell in love with a not so normal guy. Bam there's your Elisa Maza right the fuck there. lol

That trailer was so awesome and I got so pumped telling everyone I know about how my life will start to make sense again but then I read that it was fan made and I died a little inside.

I feel ya! I had already shared it on facebook on how I couldn't sleep all night from excitement and then I read it was not real. My heart shattered a little.

omg, you have no idea how excited I got before I read that this wasn't real. I was like whoa this is going to be sooo awesome and then i read on and my bubble burst.. =/ this would be so great though. I love the idea of Kristin Kreuk as Elisa Maza, she has the similar physical aspect of her and also the simple humble person of Elisa. Super kudos for this trailer!

That has got to be the best fan edit I''ve ever seen!!! If I didn't know the Liam Nelson shots where from bat man begins I would believed this, gotta make the real movie as I was stuck to the tv as a kid watching the cartoon and to this day I look up at gargoyles and Wounder!! Lol
We need to start spamming this video, get enough people to see this, and hopefully get it in to production. I'd love to watch something like this. I like marvel and DC for their super hero films, but I just feel they are recycling through the same characters over and over again. This is the change I've been craving. (I know gargoyles isn't marvel or DC, I'm just grouping them under the same subject of vigil anti themed movies, so as to not create any misunderstanding) this faux trailer has inspired me to watch the cartoon again. I was really hoping that Disney would bring out a Gargoyles-movie. But when I see what remakes they released in the last time (Lion King, Dumbo etc.) I'm glad that Gargoyles was spared.
I actually thought it was real until the Batman Begins clip...but Disney NEEDS to make this a movie for real...and make it GOOD!!!

Dude, why does your description start with the claim that it's an "Official Trailer"? Anyway, nice editing. But I would totally cast (a younger version of) Jonathan Frakes as Xanatos, :) I mean, not only did he provide his voice, he also looks practically like him.
I always wondered if they cast Frakes before or after they drew Xanatos. You really have to wonder. :D

I sort of wish that they would make a live action TV series of Gargoyles - Looking at different "urban supernatural" series on TV these days I think that we would be able to make a great live action version of Gargoyles via this.
I mean Disney/ABC are already doing one of these series with Once Upon a Time and Fairy Tale characters they own - It would be so good for them to bring the Shakespearian characters to the modern day via the world of Gargoyles.
I mean think about how much people love Loki and imagine how much the fangirls would scream over Puck.
If Disney does do a real Gargoyles movie, perhaps the team that did Pirates of The Caribbean could do it but who do you think should star in it besides fan made?

That being said....Mrs Lana Lang of Smallville is, in my opinion the PERFECT Elisa Maza! That was perfect casting. I am not certain about Xanatos, because there will be a lot of people who could not get Qui-Gon out of their head, but he has done this kind of role, and it would suit him. Wish he had the darker hair though.

This may not be the real trailer but Disney is actually in the works for the live action movie foe gargoyles. All that's been said is the script is being written. There's no for sure cast or release date yet
I love how the eye of odin looks :))))))0 and you so totaly made this look WICKED KOOL! The steel can robot looks almost as wicked as this trailer. *sighs* if only it were real...... P.S. I think an nc 17 or maybe r rated would be so EPIC and DYNIMIC!

Like the first Gargoyle Movie and the actors as well, just saw a minute of this so don't quote me but, the earlier Gargoyle itself looked better then the New.
Even if it's not legit it is still something every Gargoyles fan wants, it needs to happen and I really like the look of how this was going though... Liam Neeson as Xanatos seems to be a bit of a stretch

i really think a live action gargoyles movie is a bad idea, especially if they cgi the gargoyles.

I can fully see your point regarding making a live action version of a cartoon, they are never the same. As you mentioned, The Last Airbender. I would like to add Dragonball Evolution, Fist of the Northstar and both Guyver live actions to that list... Occasionally they get it right, though I have to admit, I can't think of one right now.
There is a risk of someone messing it up, but I'd rather Disney try and fail than not try at all. Joel S. horrible movie Batman and Robin did not ruin the Batmans I liked. The horrible Percy Jackson movie didn't ruin the books. The horrible Star Wars movies didn't ruin Empire Strikes Back. If a live action Gargoyle movie fails, I will just ignore it, like I did with the animated series' third season.
Also, SOMETIMES, putting a fan in charge of a remake is a bad idea. Brian Sanger barely heard of the X-Men, he did some research and made a good X-Men movie by sticking with the roots of the X-Men story. He was a huge Superman fan, and Superman Returns stunk because he had to put his unique fanboy ideas in it.
I would kill for this movie.

uh question...Is this really gonna be an movie??? I've been watching Gargoyles since it first came out and if they did an live action movie wouldn't that be kinda shaming the original series? I mean it would be cool to see because of the CG effects but could the directors even get the original voices of Elisa, Goliath, Demona and the others? Does anyone else see an mistake with Xanatos? I mean if anyone should play his character I think it should be Johnathan Franks the man who brought him to life in the series!! Does anyone else agree or what?
