you wonderful, wonderful man, this absolutely solved my moka pot problem. i was literally jumping for joy when the coffee came up smoothly and it was nice and strong and the coffee itself (with a touch of milk) tastes so good. thank you, thank you, thank you. may the coffee gods bless you with many years of great brews.
Hey! Very nice to hear that from you!! I I perfectly understand your joy, 'cause that happened to me when I managed to fix my Moka Pot! Now enjoy the delicious coffee correctly brewed with yours!! Thanks!
There's one problem though. The metal filter around which the silicone gasket sits is getting slightly hollowed after the brewing. Due to the upward pressure. I reversed it today and it got hollowed out once again. At this rate, I think it will develop cracks and completely give out.
@@mesri3 I think it's normal that the filter becomes hollowed. Sure, if it gets too hollowed, maybe there's something wrong, but the filter of my smaller Moka Pot, which I've never needed to use the PTFE tape, is also hollowed. Maybe you should try leave it like that and check if the process of hollowing gets stabilized. If yes, then just enjoy your coffee, this is not a big deal.
@@viniciusandrea3251 ok, cool but today, I decreased the amount of coffee powder and the hollowing didn't happen. the coffee decoction also came into the upper chamber more smoothly and more of the water from the lower chamber got used. so I guess I was putting too much coffee powder. thanks for being so kind and considerate in replying. and even bigger thanks for making this video. you gave me a moka pot i had given up on.
@@mesri3 You guys are having a good discussion here! Can I add that the problem is the design; the Bialetti gaskets, when tightened down only the very outside of the gasket ring gets compressed. So when the pressure starts to build, the water and steam simply escape AROUND the filter basket (bypassing the coffee in the filter!)... LOL mine does that too.. My generic cheap ebay moka pot - by examining it you can see just by disassembling it why it works so much better...
I think the key of this (that you point out with your great experiment) is that the pressure must be sealed in the lower chamber and not leak past the funnel edge. The fix using just the parts of the Moka Pot is to make sure the gasket seals against the funnel. Most people focus on the gasket sealing the threaded lower part of the pot to the top, but the gasket has a second separate purpose: The funnel must also seal to the gasket so that the steam pressure does not leak around the funnel edge and up the "stack" (the part that the coffee eventually comes out of). To make sure the funnel seals: 1.Make sure the gasket is still pliable (incidentally, a brand new gasket doesn't always seal as they are a bit stiff from the factory). 2. Make sure the gasket is clean (i.e. No coffee grounds stuck to or embedded in the gasket). 3. Make sure the top edge of the funnel is clean and free from coffee. When you fill the funnel with fresh coffee, make sure to run your finger over the edge and remove any coffee grounds before screwing on the top. Any bits of coffee between the funnel edge and the gasket will stop the funnel from sealing properly. 4. Make sure the pot top and bottom are well tightened. I hope this helps someone out there :)
This was an excellent post. I couldn't figure out (even w/a new gasket) what was wrong. I'd hear the water, then a lot of steam, then it would sputter out a 1/4 cup maybe. I feel like I'll never have this issue, again..
Yeah. I have a Bialetti from back in the 70s. Original funnel. And new gaskets that have been broken in. As clean as I get it I just can't seem to get a full seal without the teflon tape.
For me a more permanent fix that basically fixes this discrepancy between funnel and bottom pot was sanding down a millimeter of threaded rim. In my case I could clearly see that the rim of bottom part is higher than funnel rim.
Holy wow what a difference. I was convinced that I was doing SOMETHING wrong even if I didn't know what it was. One wrap of the yellow Teflon tape (rated for gas so it's a little thicker) and 10 mins later I have a beautiful constant brew going for the first time since I bought this thing! You sir, are a hero!
Hahaha, yeah, I've checked the correct pronunciation for funnel and it really have nothing to do with the way I did! 🤣🤣 Sorry for this!! English pronunciation is sometimes very tricky for non native speakers!
You sir are a savior! I was frustrated with my new Moka Pot, because my old one worked just fine, but seemed that something was odd with the new one. This solution fixed it immediately. Thank you.
I have never, ever commented on a video before, but I am so grateful to you! I spent days searching for a solution to this problem before I found your solution. It was a very frustrating experience because I absolutely couldn't find anything wrong with my moka pot, but it stopped working after years of reliable service. This little solution solved my problem, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you!
I changed my grind up and down, lowered and increased the flame under the pot, changed the beans to another brand but none of that made a difference, I would not get enough coffee into the pot, I was ready to give up on the mocha pot. BUT, this video saved it, I applied the plumber's PTFE tape trick and this fixed my problem. Thank you!!
Don't know what I love more, the fact this simple video actually worked and I can get through the afternoon OR that there's so many coffee lovers gushing over this vid 😁. Thank you!
Hi Vini; Thank you so much for posting this video. I am sending my gratitude from Israel. The coffee was perfect! The Internet is wonderful for sharing information, to help each other, as you have done. Peace and health to all.
Mate, terrific video and solution for exactly what I was experiencing with my new moka pot. Plainly obvious once understanding the mechanics of the pot and importance of sealing the chamber. Took your advice and immediately solved my problem. I since searched out rubber O-rings as a more robust solution (62mm OD, 59mm ID, 1.5mm Width work perfectly for my 6-cup pot). You saved me a lot of frustration. Cheers.
This is f... awesome. My pot was sputtering and the result was a burt coffee (and dirty stove). The solution with the tape made all the difference. I was jumping all around the kitchen watching the stream of black liquid coming out eavenly. I am now enjoying an exquisite brew. Thanks!!!
This was one of the easiest fixes with one of the biggest impacts I have ever tried anywhere, especially when talking about coffee. Thank you so much, sir! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Genius, I tried everything and was about to turn into a yard sculpture, but then! And I had that tape on hand, so immediate gratification. I love DIY fixes. Thanks you my friend.
Brother, you're a life saver. I got my coffee spurt on my face. I tried to find solutions but no result. But you saves me and my business. Thank you very much brother.
thank you for this video and showing us what's the cause. i solved this issue by screwing the top and bottom chamber as humanly tightly as possible. Perhaps you guys should try to tighten it as much as possible first. If that doesn't work, then try other workaround like the one shown in this video
Thank you, I will try this next time before trying the tape too! I thought I had it on pretty tight, but everywhere I read people are saying you have to do it really really tight. Can be kind of hard though when you already have hot water in the bottom and it's a 9 cup moka pot :P
I have a brand new moka pot and I was very dissapointed as I couldn't replicate the constant coffee flow that is so characteristic of this brewing type. Your video has changed that, and now I'm enjoying the best cup of Moka Pot Coffee I've had. Thanks a lot sirrr
I just wanted to tell you that I am SO GRATEFUL for finding your video that fixed my Bialetti issue. I was experimenting a lot with temperature to finally find a solution and have come to terms with the fact that you have to be chosen by the Bialetti or something like that 😆 ... Who would have thought that it would be that simple!? 😭 Thank you so much, my hero!
Your video was a real revelation to me, Vini. I had always thought that the sole purpose of the gasket was to stop the coffee that enters the funnel from escaping through the screw thread that binds the two compartments. It had never occurred to me that the gasket is also there to stop steam and potentially hot water escaping from the lower compartment through the gap between the rim of the funnel and the rim of the lower compartment. Your demonstration shows this brilliantly. This has made me understand better how my Moka pot works. But it has ALSO made me question some of my fundamental assumptions I had made until now about what is happening in my pot. I have learnt over the years that each time I replace the gasket, I can expect a livelier brew for the first five or so days, in which the brew takes longer, there is a clear and throaty sound as it rises through the column in the upper compartment, and it will start sputtering earlier. The more the gasket gets seasoned, the more the pot returns to normal brew times and to a silent trickle as the coffee comes out of the column. I had assumed that the new gasket provides a firmer seal, that this raises the atmospheric pressure in the pot, and that it is this that causes a longer heatup time and a livelier brew. But I am now wondering whether the reverse is true: that the gasket needs time to perfectly mould itself to the rim of the pot, and so the first brews are longer and livelier due to a less efficient seal (and consequently *lower* atmospheric pressure in the lower compartment) and this is why a new gasket can cause longer heatup times and livelier brews. So can you explain which of these two (or maybe neither) is so?? If I can understand better how the Moka pot works, I wil be able to make better Moka coffee and more easily resolve some of the problems we can encounter from time to time 😉. ------------------------------------------- After well over 10 years (probably nearer 20) of making Moka coffee daily, I can honestly say this is the *_best_* and most useful UA-cam video I have ever seen on the Moka pot. I very much hope you will post more videos with tips on how to further improve our Moka brewing skills ☕! ------------------------------------------- By the way here is the context of how I came across your video: I had just changed the gasket on my 3-cup pot and, though I am used to a new gasket causing a longer brew with sputtering starting much earlier for the first five or so days resulting in an over-extracted flavour, this time I was getting alarmed that it was remaining the same for much longer than five days (with the sputtering starting right from the beginning of outflow) and with no immediate prospect of resolution. I then found your video that explained *_so well_* what was happening. I first followed *@blobscott's* advice in his post (written _"1 month ago"_ at the time of my writing this post) and then, though experiencing real progress, felt nevertheless that progress was insufficient and so added your trick of adding PTFE teflon tape to the rim of the funnel. I'm not sure whether the PTFE tape added further improvement or was just duplicating what I had already achieved with @blobscott's advice, but certainly the result is already a great improvement on what I was experiencing until then. I'm still experiencing long heatup times, and a livelier brew (i.e. faster outflow, & some noise as it rises through the column) but it is no longer sputtering from the beginning of outflow. The sputtering comes at the end as it should do. ------------------------------------------- So anyway, I very much hope you can find time out of your doubtless busy schedule to answer my question from paragraphs 3 and 4 😁.
Hi! Sorry for the late answer. I hope to find you well and healthy! Well, unfortunately I don't have the answer to your questions. I have to admit I'm not a experienced coffee maker, I just applied my experience from my formation in Physics and from my Laboratory experience for making my PhD studies. My hypothesis, tough, is that there is no considerable difference in the atmospheric pressure inside the boiler when the rim between the funnel and the boiler. But maybe I'm wrong and you seem to have much more experience and knowledge in this topic than me! I'm just a coffee lover who wanted to fix his Moka Pot and help everyone who were facing the same issue : )
@@viniciusandrea3251 Dammit! I just wrote a long answer to your reply and then I accidentally closed the page (before copying to clipboard) ☹. Anyway the gist was: 1. I've learnt a great deal thanks to your video, and I've understood even better how my Moka pot works through your excellent demo *_since_* writing my previous post (as I said, the best video I've found on the internet so far about the Moka pot - and I've seen a bunch)! 2. Please do add a video to your channel (or two, or three) if you make any other discoveries that can help us make more delicious Moka coffee. I've subscribed to your channel to that end. Also, if I find a moment, I'll write my post again sometime or other!
Thank you so much, have always been able to make a great brew with the 6 cup Moka but had nothing but sputtering with my 12 cup since new. So frustrating when wanting to make coffee for a crowd. This solution is amazing. I’m very grateful to you!
Someone give this man an award! I received my first moka pot as a gift yesterday and after 5 attempts and spluttering since the beginning. Making a mess!! I found this video and saw the tape tip. I used washi tape because I didnt have the other one and it worked perfectly. And just now I made my first drinkable moka cup of coffee 😂😂💥🎉
Great fix! This also implies that one should not knock their baskets out for cleaning. Though convienient, it will also knock the basket out of alignment.
This is brilliant. Using Moka Pots for years, and mine was making good coffee, even though it was leaking at the chamber joint. The gasket was hardening, so, I changed out the gasket. After putting in a new gasket, had gurgling from the very beginning and not all the water would boil out. Looked at this video and applied two rounds of pipe joint tape as instructed. Works like a charm, and as an engineer, knew this made complete sense as soon as seeing the video. The coffee is stronger, too. It's one of those, "now why didn't I think of that" fixes. If you have an older pot, try this before you do all the fixes with the grind of the coffee, the water temperature, the fire temperature, etc. Over the years, the funnel and chamber fit get out of round, and this solves it. Thank you!!!
Thanks, George! That's awesome to read from you! Yeah, I felt the same as you when I came up with this idea: why haven't I thought this before!!! Anyhow, I'm glad I could help!
I use my Bialetti every single day, have had it for years!...Then it just stopped working. Found this YT the other day and followed the advice...The man is a genius! For less than £1/1€ You can fix it. Will be a happy breakfast tomorrow!😎
well, what can I say? It works splendidly and you saved the life of my two coffe makers, a Bialetti and other very old, a Zanzibar. Thank you very much!!!
This was EXACTLY my problem with my venerable 30 year-old moka and NO ONE here in Montreal could solve this problem. In the end I bought a new funnel and... voila! Problem solved - but I would have used your solution had I seen your video before. Well done!
I fell like I need to leave a comment to thank you for this video! The PTFE tape method works for me! I was ready to buy a new pot and your video helped me to save time & money! 😘 (Love from Singapore 🇸🇬 )
May i add to this long list of very grateful people by saying you are a beautiful man ! This was confounding and frustrating the hell out of me ! Now i am happy again. X
Thank you man! I've been struggling with my moka pot for months. I've just tried this and now I'm drinking an absolutely nice and drinkable coffee. Thanks
Great tip, Vinnie. I struggled trying to figure out the problem, always thinking it was the gasket or the filter. Your solution is spot on. Many thanks!
Hey Marco! I'm glad I could help. I also struggled for a long time until I figure out that the issue had to do with the sealing around the funnel. Great brews for you!
you don't believe how thankful i am for this, i had tried EVERYTHING! I had mastered a smaller moka pot pretty well and bought a bigger one from a flea market a while back just to notice it sputtered like hell every time i used it no matter what I did and it was so frustrating when nothing i had done with the smaller one worked on the big one, even when adjusted for the bigger size. BUT NOW IT WORKS FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER MONTHS OF TRYING! for some unknown reason i actually even had this tape in my closet after several konmari purges; not even knowing what it was i had kept it for years, so i guess now i found out why? :D THANK YOU
Hi Kauheaa! Wow, that's great reading that from you! The tape was waiting to be your Moka Pot Savior! I'm really glad I could help you! Now, enjoy your coffee! :)
Konmari purge refugee saves the day - LOL. My clothes are all folded correctly and vertical, but I could use a few more purges myself. Who knows what I'll find!
I have a 1 cup, 3 cup and 6 cup Moka pots. I bought the 6 cup new and the 1 and 3 cup off of ebay, and they were both well used and needed the gaskets replaced. The 3 cup just hasn't worked right (same issue that you were showing here) and I noticed that the basket / funnel was a bit bent and mis-shapen. Not bad, but def not perfectly round. I bought a replacement funnel and that solved the problem. As the Moka works based on pressure, you need to ensure that it is very tight. This is a great tip and I'll remember it for the future if needed! Thank you!
I love physics i used a miniture rubber band from my girlfriend that literally cost 1 ct and IT WORKED FINALLY🎉🎉🎉 ty for finally solving it. I bought a small 1 pot can a few days ago and apparently before your fix it never worked so its the first time im able to enjoy mokka :)))
Trillions of thanks for this tape idea...my moka pot got new life....coffee is tasting so so so so much better, and because of this my days are turning out to be much better.....if we ever meet in life.....coffee is on me!!!!! for now am subscriber your channel!!!!!
Hi Maneesh! I'm very moved with your comments!! That's amazing to read that now your coffee is waaayyy better and, because of that, your days, as well! Ok, that's a deal, if we once meet, I'll be waiting for my coffee!! By the way, where are you from? Thank you very much and great brews for you!!
@@viniciusandrea3251 so sorry for late reply, i was out on a road trip, in heartland and deep inside mountains and jungles, happily brewing coffee in moka pot....am from India, and i can take u around for some good coffee and we will also brew it together....
Thank you so much!!! I was worried I was going to have to b buy a new pot after trying so many times and watching so many videos to try to figure out what was wrong. Literally threw my hands up in celebration when it came up the right way.
Vinnie, you have saved the day! I bought new gaskets for my espresso maker and they just didn’t work. Your tip worked perfectly and now I’m getting coffee in the top of the pot. Definitely was getting cranky because I couldn’t get my precious expresso. Thanks again!!!!
So great, it really works! Got so frustrated when I finally got a stainless steel funnel that it splattered. It always worked great with original aluminum. After your video I examined the funnel and yes the new funnel did not line up properly. Taped now it works ❤❤❤❤
Muitissimo obrigado, Vinicius. I had changed the rubber gasket for a brand new one and that wasn't it, still sputtering. Then I got my teflon tape which I normally have around for sealing my Highland bagpipe drones of all things, and did what you suggested. The coffee then came out on a steady flow, no sputtering, no noise, and it was a beautiful sight. Thank you very much. Brigadão, te cuida, parceiro.
Thank you for this video! I ran to my moka pot after viewing it & using your tips I brewed a cup & it worked perfectly flowed smoothly & tasted great!!
I had exactly this problem, spluttering/ spitting while producing coffee. On an off chance, searched Amazon for silicone rubber o ring. I think it was 60 mm, 1.5 mm wall. Sits nicely where you put the ptfe tape. I think it was 3 or 4 uk£ for 10. Perfect! Now, it runs silently, the only sputtering comes when all the water has been pushed up through the coffee. My first Mike pot so it took me a while to realise it was working properly.
This has saved my gnali & zani moka pot fro. the trash bin !! I may added that i also put the tape on the thread of the moka pot.. Because i read somewhere that whenever the steam can find a way out other than the funnel, it will fail to come up. Now it ALWAYS made a good job ! Thank You so so much for this tip !
I’m so glad I found this video; I bought a Bialetti years ago and it worked fine but I bought one recently where the coffee was barely coming out! I exchanged it and the same issue happened with the new one and the steam escaping; not sure why so many have this manufacturing defect?
Great video, I’ve only had this problem once, and it was when I bought preground coffee. Usually I grind my own and it works great. The preground coffee was made for drip, so it shouldn’t have sputtered. Not sure what happened. Regardless, great video and a genius solution to the problem. I would love to see other tips with how you brew your moka. Hot water vs cold water at the beginning, what grind size, and how much heat you apply. Thanks!
thank you very much for your tips! i just bought my Bialetti Moka Pot for 3 cups & the coffee kept sputtering. i will definitely try this tip! Many thanks from Malaysia brother!! i really appreciate your video!!!
Don't buy cheap moka pots they have poor sealing due to lower quality and often have this exact problem. This was very helpful thank you very much good sir.
Yeah, you're right. Usually cheap Moka Pots have sealing issues. But it can also happen with the expensive ones, like in my case (this is an original Bialetti).
Thank you! That did the trick. Now I know to be much more gentle with the funnel when cleaning it. I've been tapping out the grinds into the trash for years, which definitely has slightly deformed the funnel shape. No more doing that!
Thank you from Germany, Vinnie!! I almost bought a new Moka pot after using mine for about 12 years, since changing the parts you can change didn't seem to work anymore - but the tape did the trick!! :-) Here's to another 12 years! ☕️🖤
Hallo, Dario! Wie läuft alles? Es ist lange her seit ich kein Deutsch schreibe, aber ich werde es versuchen. Das ist toll, dass meine Andeutung hat geholfen! I'm really glad I could help you, Dario! Greetings from Brazil!
That’s a great tip. I’m just wondering if it’s safe to use? I mean wouldn’t the tape release its toxins in the coffee after heat exposure? Besides, do I need to change the tape after every use? Or wait till it wears out? Thank you very much for a great video !
Thank you so much for a very clear and step by step video. I am having this problem and hopefully I have plumbing tape on hand as it is early Sunday morning … no coffee yet and stores are closed. No nice coffeeshop around either …. 😮😢 Thanks again
This worked perfectly for me, thank you very much. For some reason, it wasn't working in my high altitude city, but the tape solved the issue wonderfully.
Thank you so much. Spot on the problem I have, first attempt on gas stove was exactly like the video. Second attempt with more gas it almost caught me, spit a foot way. Finally after watching this, it starts to flow nicely. Appreciate that!!
thanks so much for this tip, I took out my old MokaPot today after a long time of not using it and wasted so much quality coffee grounds. It sputtered everywhere. Will get to it and report back
Thank you so much, this was the only fix that did work for me. All other solutions to the problem of sputtering just didn’t help my Mokka pot to finally brew a coffee.
Great tip, but the tape lasted me 20 cups. I went to a hardware/hydraulic parts shop and bought a 1.5x70 O-ring. My pot is 450 ml and the coffee powder container is 72mm in diameter. 70mm is tight enough not slip the o-ring. So if you want more reable solution then measure the powder container diameter and buy few mm smaller O-ring. 1.5 mm thick seal would be enough.
Hi Vinnie, you wonderful man, I've been battling with my Prezzetti moka all week, changed the rubber seal and upper filter, but no joy, then I tried your fix, incredible, I might now replace the funnel but for now it worked like a charm. Thank you so much. 😊
Dude this is awesome!! I buy one this past Sunday and I was so sad cause it was not working, for a second I thought that it was all my fault cause I bought a big one (12 cups), and now is working!!! glad I didn't had to return it, thanks a lot, greetings from Mexico
I bought a moka pot a week ago and try it today but it's sputtering like that on the video that's why I research here on UA-cam until I found you! Thanks for this, it saves my day🙂
I bought mine and i used it only a few times, now it is acting up. Im quite disaapointed with the quality, how could this happen after just a few times of being used. In the middle east it is not cheap 🤧
Thank you for the tips... i had been making coffee with this problem and knowing that the problem is in sealing the pressure but couldnt come up with idea how to solve it until I saw your video. Will certainly try it out the next time im brewing.
THIS IS AMAZING! Before the town I live in burnt down, and my moka pot with it, it had this problem ALL the time. At least now if my next one does this I'll know how to fix it.
I read about this same solution on Reddit after losing function from my Moka Pot from too much tapping of my funnel (deforming it slightly) on my compost pail. I was able to restore function and get a fine cuppa once more. This video is an excellent how to on the process. I realized I went a little frugal on my Teflon Tape wrap and will reinforce a bit now. I'm about 6 brews in on the original wrap with no sign of failure, however. Curious to see if I get better function with a better wrap.
Hi John! Yeah, tapping it when cleaning increases the chances to deform it. Try improving your wrapping, it also helps with the performance of your Pot. Thanks for the comments! I'm glad I could help:)
ah jesus effing christ...ok that's why it's leaking too for me, and I tried everything, cleaned it perfectly, new gasket, etc...I hit the filter on the side of the sink like my mother used to do and let the used grains in the drain (which also cleans the drain).
Muito obrigado Vini, resolveu meu problema! Tenho uma Bialetti excelente também mas estava cuspindo, depois de mais de um ano parada coloquei o teflon e saiu o café perfeitamente.
That tape trick works!!! Have a 25 year old pot that was kayboshed recently. Was going to throw it as was struggling to find a gasket that fits. Anyway sorted. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this information! You are amazing and so helpful. This solved my moka pot issue! No more coffee spraying out of the pot and all over the stove. Thank you Thank you Thank you - Such a simple fix with the plumbing tape : )
Sending you best wishes and a happy life from San Francisco! This was driving us crazy as we enjoy making El Carajillo cocktails which combine espresso with mezcal, liquer 43 and rosemary. We couldnt figure out what was wrong with the Moka pot and were about to buy an espresso machine out of frustration!
@@viniciusandrea3251 I have been making good coffee with my moka pot ever since I applied your fix. Before the steam makes the coffee tasted like Chinese medicine. Thank you!
Bravisimo.... I have been brewing shitty coffee since I had to replace the rubber but thanks to you I am finally brewing perfect coffees again. It pissed me off so much when my moka started sputtering from the beginning... You f*cking legend! Grazie mille!!!
i just had a similar problem with a new pot.... i think this happens also when you do not tighten the two parts of the mocha pot enough. --just wanted to say that in case anyone else had the problem.
Ok I had same problem with brand new pot, Pedrini brand! The funnel was just to lose. I did experiment as you with water and it was the same. Found some kind of tape at home, not the same as yours but the black rubbery one for isolation, and taped couple of circles at the top of the funnel and problem solved! thank you so much!!!!!!!! It only makes me mad I will always have to use tape and this is brand new pot and obviously it was just not made correctly. EDIT: OK so I read the comments and realized I might have this problem precisely because it was a new pot and maybe it will solve itself when it gets more worn in :) still keeping tape at hand haha
you wonderful, wonderful man, this absolutely solved my moka pot problem. i was literally jumping for joy when the coffee came up smoothly and it was nice and strong and the coffee itself (with a touch of milk) tastes so good. thank you, thank you, thank you. may the coffee gods bless you with many years of great brews.
Hey! Very nice to hear that from you!! I I perfectly understand your joy, 'cause that happened to me when I managed to fix my Moka Pot!
Now enjoy the delicious coffee correctly brewed with yours!!

😄😄 Whoever thought I'd spent so much time watching a coffee tutorial? ❤
@@kaymarieperera4778 it's a serious biznizz o// if more people were like us and cared about how their coffee turned out.... \♥/
But is it safe to put pvc tape in the hot chamber ??
Same thing for me
The way this guy pronounces funnel deserves a 🥇
Hahaha, yeah, I've checked the correct pronunciation for funnel and it really have nothing to do with the way I did! 🤣🤣 Sorry for this!! English pronunciation is sometimes very tricky for non native speakers!
@@viniciusandrea3251 No need to apologise, Vinicius. English is a terrible language, even for native speakers.
😂
Fue-nell.......!!!
I love it haha, never change!
Had sputtering problems with a new Moka Pot. Tried everything, but nothing worked until I tried this. And it worked perfectly, thank you!!!
You sir are a savior! I was frustrated with my new Moka Pot, because my old one worked just fine, but seemed that something was odd with the new one. This solution fixed it immediately. Thank you.
can't thank you enough. this guy saved me from buying another $100 bialetti mokapot. love from australia. merry christmas you bloody legend :)
Wow, that's great to read from you, Kunhee!! I'm really glad I could help you!
Merry Christmas for you, too! :)
Thank you!
Same first time commenting becuase this man made me so happy😂
Thanks!!!
Wow, that's great to read from you, Federico!!! Thanks!
Great to read it from you, Marilyn! A Moka Pot is too precious to stand as a yard sculpture! It is way more interesting over your stove! Thanks!
Thanks, this one works for me as temporary fix. Apparently I need to replace the rubber gasket because it somewhat became less flexible due to aging.
Thank you, I will try this next time before trying the tape too! I thought I had it on pretty tight, but everywhere I read people are saying you have to do it really really tight. Can be kind of hard though when you already have hot water in the bottom and it's a 9 cup moka pot :P
"I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee..."
Finaly someone who shows a mocca not working and How to fix it, in a proper way! Thank you, you sweet, sweet man!
I have a brand new moka pot and I was very dissapointed as I couldn't replicate the constant coffee flow that is so characteristic of this brewing type. Your video has changed that, and now I'm enjoying the best cup of Moka Pot Coffee I've had. Thanks a lot sirrr
Tears of joy :-) can now finally go back to my moka pot, after having switch to a French press for the last few months
We have had this problem many times with many pots over many years. I tried your solution and it worked. Thank you very, very much!
-------------------------------------------
After well over 10 years (probably nearer 20) of making Moka coffee daily, I can honestly say this is the *_best_* and most useful UA-cam video I have ever seen on the Moka pot. I very much hope you will post more videos with tips on how to further improve our Moka brewing skills ☕!
-------------------------------------------
By the way here is the context of how I came across your video:
I had just changed the gasket on my 3-cup pot and, though I am used to a new gasket causing a longer brew with sputtering starting much earlier for the first five or so days resulting in an over-extracted flavour, this time I was getting alarmed that it was remaining the same for much longer than five days (with the sputtering starting right from the beginning of outflow) and with no immediate prospect of resolution.
-------------------------------------------
So anyway, I very much hope you can find time out of your doubtless busy schedule to answer my question from paragraphs 3 and 4 😁.
Anyway the gist was:
That's a good point, Drane! It is important to avoid knocking it when cleaning.
Same for me!
The PTFE tip fixed my problem. Your explanation and the experiment made it very easy to understand. Thank you so much!!! 👍😃👏👏👏

Ah, que legal ler sua mensagem, Ana! Fico feliz que pude ajudar! :)
You are the hero. I'm looking everywhere to find this solution. Thank you so much !!
Thank you, Mohamad! I'm glad my tips could help you!!
I'm so glad I found you here. Now, I'm going to try to fix my moka pot. Thanks
Thank you!
This video deserves more likes. Thanks for the explanations.
Thanks for the comment, dude!

Thanks and excellent coffee brews for you!!
Vinnie, you have saved the day! I bought new gaskets for my espresso maker and they just didn’t work. Your tip worked perfectly and now I’m getting coffee in the top of the pot. Definitely was getting cranky because I couldn’t get my precious expresso. Thanks again!!!!
Wow, that's awesome to read from you, Lou!!
I wish you great brews with your Moka Pot!!
So great, it really works! Got so frustrated when I finally got a stainless steel funnel that it splattered. It always worked great with original aluminum.
After your video I examined the funnel and yes the new funnel did not line up properly. Taped now it works ❤❤❤❤
Awesome that it has worked!! I'm glad I could help!
This is also an excellent solution, Bob! Great and thanks for sharing it!
This is the only Tipp that worked for me…. Thank u so much… My coffe is great again 👍
Thank you for sharing, we were so disappointed with our new pot that was having this problem. It’s all settled, we are enjoying our coffee now!
Wow, that's great to read from you! I'm glad I could help :)
Thanks!
Hi, Jay! Thanks for your comments and video suggestions! 😃

Hey, Ted! Great to read this from you! Yeah, it is important to be gentle with the funnel. Thanks!
Just take the funnel, with the coffee grounds inside, put your mouth on the long tube and blow. Easy peasy.
My mocha pot was sputtering and after watching this video I fixed my mocha pod. Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you from Germany, Vinnie!! I almost bought a new Moka pot after using mine for about 12 years, since changing the parts you can change didn't seem to work anymore - but the tape did the trick!! :-) Here's to another 12 years! ☕️🖤

Hi Mustafah! Wow, that's great to read that my video has helped you!! Have great brews!
thanks so much for this tip, I took out my old MokaPot today after a long time of not using it and wasted so much quality coffee grounds. It sputtered everywhere. Will get to it and report back
Thank you so much, this was the only fix that did work for me.
All other solutions to the problem of sputtering just didn’t help my Mokka pot to finally brew a coffee.
Great to know, my friend! Have a bunch of nice coffee!!

Hi! Wow, that's great to read from you! I know how you used to feel with your pot not working correctly.
I'm glad I could help! Thanks!
i just had a similar problem with a new pot.... i think this happens also when you do not tighten the two parts of the mocha pot enough.
