- Yet again I bought something on Vestiaire Collective and made a bad experience: so another honest VC review, about how I bought a broken Chanel brooch on Vestiaire Collective. In this video I unbox a preloved Chanel birdcage brooch from VC, share my doubts about how to authenticate Chanel custom jewelry and worst of all: show you the broken brooch I received in my package. Am I slowly going crazy with my bad feelings about Vestiaire Collective, or is it actualy a shame, to receive a broken Chanel brooch, a piece of luxury costume jewelry, in a plastic ziplock bag?

What a shame, it looked like a nice piece. When companies send faulty items out, or items badly wrapped/protected whether it be fashion/homeware etc, it really is a waste of the buyers time and also the sellers. They should make sure it’s 110% in a saleable condition and will reach its destination in one piece.
It think the design is sooo cute (quite a lot going on, but absolutely down my alley ✨) - but at that price point, I don’t want to keep it broken 🙈
I said it already and I will say it again; simply stop shopping at Vestiaire Collective also if you see great deals. Save your money and your energy for other pieces on other pre-loved markets 🙏🏼❤

Thank you Nastasia 🥰. I know, I really have to stop 🙈 unfortunately we don’t have any other huge preloved plattforms with such a big selection in Germany. But VC is not worth my time and money 🙈 - comments like yours help me to finally make the cut (hopefully!!😅🙈)
Good thing you have video. If it wasn’t advertised as broken, it wasn’t listed properly. The authenticity stamp isn’t centered. That makes my eyebrows raise a bit. So sorry this happened!
Good eye about the stamp not beeing centered 😳 I did not even notice that, until you pointed it out (just that it‘s overall more deep and jerky than on my brooch) - but no idea, if that means anything 🤔 I‘m really no extert on Chanel jewelry and the YT videos I found about it, don’t give very in-depth information either 😅
Love the ruffles on the shoulders. Such a cute shape. And broach honestly! This is such a shame! Reminds me of my grandmothers broach. How sad!!

Did you already hear, that VC will now introduce a buying fee (5% in your own county, 10% international) on top of the purchase price (for the buyer to pay) - to be able to keep up their service quality 😳😂🙈 I just can’t take them serious anymore

I am so sorry Mary,you do have bad luck with them.I think you might be right and they put it in a plastic bag because they knew it was broken. It’s ridiculous that they use a plastic bag anyway. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they will not make a problem. I think you did well by filming it because they will have to admit that it arrived broken. Let us know what happens next.🙏🏻🥰

I honestly don't think that Vestiere is a good place to buy from! It might be different in a store, but they seem to make way too many mistakes. You are not the only one who has unfortunate experiences with them! Thank you for the video!

Hi Mary! I definitely understand being drawn to lovely designer or luxury items at more reasonable prices. I think many of us do, hence why we watch channels like yours! I'm definitely a designer handbag addict. Big time!! 😅 All that said, I know it's difficult, but after you get this debacle settled, please try to disconnect yourself from VC. It really seems to be causing you more stress than enjoyment! And, I think you already have a fantastic collection of luxury items! Really lovely! So, perhaps you could just 'shop your stash' whenever you get that urge to peruse that site, or any other luxury site, to help squash the FOMO (fear of missing out... not sure if you have a saying like this in German or throughout Europe). You never know what you're going to get 😒 I decided to give myself a break since the last time I received a speedy bag that smelled like mold, it's been 5 months and I've never been able to get rid of it! Just got an e-mail from VC today that they're adding fees on the buyer's side. 5 % of the item's price are added on as a new fee, in order for VC to maintain their service quality. And ADDITIONAL "up to" 10% of the item's price are added on if the seller lives in another country than yours... Effective beginning Oct 24th... I am shocked.
😳😱 omg, that‘s BAD news (if they at least would state, that they want to IMPROVE their poor service 😂🙈). May I ask, where you live? Cause I didn’t get such an email (yet?!)

There’s a saying - insanity is doing the same thing again and expecting a different result. I think you probably knew in the back of your mind when you decided to buy from Vestiaire again that this might happened. You sound angry but not exactly surprised. I’m sorry this happened to you. Hopefully it’s the final straw and you steer clear of VC from now on! 😢
I definitely am a little bit insane when it comes to VC 🙈 - and unfortunately you‘re right and I‘m not even that surprised, something went wrong with them again. Maybe that experience will at least help me, to stay away from them for a while 🙈
VS has good listings so I don’t blame you for buying from them. I don’t buy as much as I used to. Since brexit import and duty fees add a substantial chunk at check out 💔 Wish we were still in the EU. Life was definitely cheaper 😿
I feel you Katy! Whenever I spot items on VC from the UK, I don’t really consider to purchases them, cause I’m scared of all the dutys that would come on top 🙈 - must be even more frustrating when shopping from UK 💔
I think the brooch is absolutely gorgeous. but… upon opening it, to see pieces flying around, this is absolutely inacceptable. And regarding the packaging of such expensive pieces from VC is unfortunately nothing new to me…
i must say the stamping does not look quite authentic (compared to zour other Chanek brooch), did you check the internet on pictures on this brooch? Maybe you can find closeups on the Chanel stamp..
I do hope Vestiaire refunds you fully, it‘s their responsibility to pack the item correctly, so it does not get damaged in the way..
Unfortunately I can’t find any closeups of the stamp on exactly that brooch (and I just found it on Fashionfile, not even sure if they are 100% trustworthy as a plattform 🤔) - authenticating such small items seems sooo difficult to me 🔎

I love your channel and I watch all of your videos. No one should receive something that is anything but as advertised. You've had had more than one incident where you know Vestiaire Collective (VC) is not reliable and their customer service is basically none. You've made videos sharing your awful experiences and yet this time you chose to go back. In this case, you attracted this onto yourself. You don't deserve it, but you have more than one prior experience that VC is not reliable. They wasted so much of your time and anguish over your purchases that those "savings" or "items" don't seem to be worth all the trouble. I wish you the best that they will take it back and refund all of your money. I hope you finally decide and wise up that VC is not for you and with their consistent horrible service that they are just like a scammer. If you chose to continue to purchase from VC going forward and continue to have similar horrible experiences then I really don't feel you have the right to complain anymore. You have to take responsibility for knowingly how VC is and yet you chose to buy from them. It is insanity to continue to go back to an "abusive relationship" as you put it. All the BEST to you.

There is no logical reason for going back over and over again, yet still I did multiple times and can’t promise, I never again will 🙈 - it actually is insanity 🙈.
