Of course your camera picked up me exclaiming, “No my hat! I paid fifteen dollars for that!”, in your shot of 1702 stopping for the flagging of that one crossing. Of all the things it picked up, it picks up the cry of desperation for the sudden removal of my most frequently worn headgear due to running. And on a more serious note, it was good to make your acquaintance there at 1702’s removal from the consist before that evening’s Polar Express run. Here’s to more impromptu meetings with fellow railfans “out in the wild”, so to speak.
I’ve heard murmurs of 722 potentially being rebuilt using the money from the whole Mr. Beast thing, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that happens. Would be really cool if it did.
I personally really want 722 to be restored to operational condition. If TVRM could operate 630 and 4501, locomotives with higher coal demands than 1702 and 722, then surely GSMR could do something like that.
I actually think that there are plans to restore 722 back to operating condition. Why else would the great smoky mountain railroad purchase a second consolidation locomotive
A fantastic video, of a very nice steam locomotive.

Lol, I know what you mean on favorite hats. It was nice to meet you to.
Are there future plans for Southern Railway 722 to be restored to operating condition? I sincerely hope so.

Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for the better

@@SouRwy4501Productions 630 and 722 are literally the same class of locomotive, why would 630 have a higher baseline fuel consumption rate then 722?
Be nice if 722 could have some TLC
It just might given the cash infusion from Mr. Beast’s whole purchase and wreck of the 711 and 777.
What exactly is TLC?
@@BMMEC6000 Tender, Loving Care. In the 722’s case, even a cosmetic restoration would be TLC.
