As soon as you said you were going to see which wood type called to you I immediately thought about what would call to me and lo and behold we both love purple heart! My dad made me a wooden box made of purple heart, he also made me a wooden cross with a literal purple heart wood heart in the center, /and/ he made my husband a cigar box humidor with purple heart inlay. Your wand turned out so beautiful, I love it!!! You truly are a creative beastie! :)

So cool! Every time you do a new thing that I’m trying out to I get so happy. My dad took up wood carving later in his life and after he passed I became a lot like him in creativity and have tried it out a few times too. This is an amazing first project, so impressive! I think Purple Heart is a wonderful name for the wand. And...surely you have other projects planned for that beautiful wood (I hope, I hope!) The dark purple hair: I'm not thrilled with the change, I truly loved the lavender. It always felt a little silvery to me. Which is lovely. However, I do think the darker color really makes your eyes look more intensely blue, which is also lovely! I guess you just can't lose!

One rainey day when you go for a walk or even just out of the blue feel drawn to a smaller piece of a tree branch pick it up and if the bark is saturated from the rain the bark will peel off. A little Branch like that is really cool looking and they make great wands too.

I was going to say, you should put silver foil behind the stones so they will still reflect light and shine against the wood, but then in the final shots it actually looked nice with a bit of purple showing behind them! Usually stones end up too dark with a solid backing.
What a fun project! I am so glad you went with the gems/crystals/precious stones instead of epoxy. Possibly harder to work with, but seems more authentic. I made my own wand a few years ago from chopsticks and glue from a hot glue gun. It was a lot of fun! I have to say the sponsor for this video is so cool! Really good fit for this channel :)

As soon as you said you were going to see which wood type called to you I immediately thought about what would call to me and lo and behold we both love purple heart! My dad made me a wooden box made of purple heart, he also made me a wooden cross with a literal purple heart wood heart in the center, /and/ he made my husband a cigar box humidor with purple heart inlay. Your wand turned out so beautiful, I love it!!! You truly are a creative beastie! :)

So cool! Every time you do a new thing that I’m trying out to I get so happy. My dad took up wood carving later in his life and after he passed I became a lot like him in creativity and have tried it out a few times too. This is an amazing first project, so impressive! Makes me inspired to buy some new tools and start going again.

The dark purple hair: I'm not thrilled with the change, I truly loved the lavender. It always felt a little silvery to me. Which is lovely. However, I do think the darker color really makes your eyes look more intensely blue, which is also lovely! I guess you just can't lose!

Love your wand, very artistic and beautiful. One rainey day when you go for a walk or even just out of the blue feel drawn to a smaller piece of a tree branch pick it up and if the bark is saturated from the rain the bark will peel off. A little Branch like that is really cool looking and they make great wands too.

The dog parts were my FAVORITE!
I was going to say, you should put silver foil behind the stones so they will still reflect light and shine against the wood, but then in the final shots it actually looked nice with a bit of purple showing behind them! Usually stones end up too dark with a solid backing.
OK that purple heart was the ONLY choice! Such a cool fun vid. Now I want to make my own wand!

What a fun project! I am so glad you went with the gems/crystals/precious stones instead of epoxy. Possibly harder to work with, but seems more authentic.
I made my own wand a few years ago from chopsticks and glue from a hot glue gun. It was a lot of fun!
