  • In this video i will explain why radiator hose is hard and swollen. If the cooling system builds up too much pressure it can cause the radiator hose to burst.

Thanks man. That what just happened to my 95' toyota supra se. I recently replaced the radiator and lower and upper hose. And out of no where this year.. my upper is swollen and leaking. Time to get the new upper hose. 😊

    2002 honda civic..
overheating after a week of it not overheating. After replacing all of these- radiator, hoses, cap, thermostat, coolant & burping for 20min or longer. Before tet driving.
After 2 weeks of driving it normally no overheating issues..it started overheating again. & it looks like steam comes from top area based on how coolant sprays & leaves the white residue on air filter cover. However I also have some watery green looking liquid under waterpump & front area of honda civic area like under thermostat & a little to the right of that. My fans both turn on & my heat is somewhat warm on startup/idle
Testing, today I didnt drive it I just started it to check for loss of coolant or head gasket issues, no signs of milky) I have No coolant leaking from radiator it was all the way filled after a week..even though there are still some drops under car to passenger side middle
Brand new hoses. Cap & thermostat. Top hose is warm & pressure feeling after 5min of idling only at startup.
    Bottom is cold.
I didnt notice coolant flowing cause it was so full. I just had a few bubbles pop up a few times & when I'd squeeze hose the water disappeared but slow cam back.
After 5min I pushed on radiator cp & I could her some water bubble sounds but not sure if that's normal.
    What should I suspect

Hi i have a 06 toyota sienna with 56k no over heating not leaks, but my engine feels hoter than normal and both my hoses get swollen and real hot. Is this normal or my hoses are too old?

Radiator was boiling and the reservoir tank was bubbling and over flowing.
I have checked out the following after charging hardened top hose 1) fans are working 2) thermostat valve is opening well 3) clean radiator 4) changed cap 5) no signs of coolent leak near water pump.
The dashboard heat meter just above 50% say 60%.
I live in a hot country.
Now have I solved the heating problem???
When I stop after driving I hear some bubbling sound for 1/2 minute or so.
25 year old Suzuki Cultus is me car.
    Please advice.
    Thank you.

Today looked under the hood of my ranger to find the radiator hose squeezed skinny and it's hard. What could that one be? And I lost fluid.

Sir my Lexus rx330 radiator black hose pipe NEVER ever becomes hard even though I drive 250+ nonstop.
Is it a good sign? Or there is a problem?
It is soft as it is during a cold start of engine.
    Plz share your valuable advice

Is there a way to modify the hoses to where it bleeds the combustion gases? My tacoma runs completely fine, however coolant goes into the overflow and i constantly have to siphon it back into the radiator... do the sell steam vents or anything?

If your coolant is vented, it won't be pressurized, therefor it will boil. It needs to remain pressurized.

I changed my thermostat, the assy water valve on the nissan xtrail t30 2004 (QR 20) and coolant is not reaching the heater core, all heater core inlet and outlet house are cold, only the top radiator hose is hot and swollen, and the other thing is when l open the radiator cap and start the car, coolant starts to flow out of the radiator, l even changed the radiator cap still pressure builds up and now lm seeing liquid coming out of the exhaust. What could be the problem

If it comes out exhaust, it's head gasket.

Thanks but I have a different problem I think. What if my lower radiator hose stays cold? Top is hose is warm and both are very squishy and soft... Even if I drive the whole day the bottom radiator hose stays cold.. temp stays around 90C though

If there a water leaking under or near close to water pump so it means the water pump is broken ( dead) so you need to change it .

One of my spark plugs cannot be removed. It turns like the threads have got cut. Does the engine suck in air through this. Will it cause over heating?
    Any remedy for this.
Thank you for your kind service

To get stuck spark plugs out I'll let engine cool overnigt. Then I'll spritz a little wd40 in the spark plug well, and work back and forth with the ratchet wrench. Light to medium hand pressure when turning and each time it get too hard, I'll go back tightening a bit. And just work it back and forth trying to get just a tiny bit more loose each go or every other go. Just stop and go back when you feel it too hard to turn with light/ medium pressure..
But overheating might need to flush the radiator/ heater core, and change coolant.
If you haven't done so already
