Age of Mythology ~Unused Units and Animations Part 2

I have never seen anyone mention some of the missing circe animation and the Oracle unit, so I decided to compile some of the lesser known missing animations and such. You can find most of these units in the Workshop.
It's honestly baffling to me how some of these things didn't make it into the final game. The unused relics look amazing and far more interesting than the ones in the final game which all look the same. The melting ice titan is adorable and hilarious, the shore fishing looks great and is perfectly reasonable, the boredom and run animations for animals would've made the game a bit more realistic and charming, the hammer haft and hammer head death animations make sense and probably could've been used for Titan difficulty in the campaign levels involving them in order to add to the challenge, the monument rings look amazing and could've been used for monuments built by Isis players, the musk ox textures look good, the tall bushes and the Atlantean plant boxes also look very appealing, the unused fertile terrain looks gorgeous, the unused roads look wonderful, also the holiday units could've been added for Christmas time.
it is kind of cool to know what relic it is only by placing in the temple though. I hate they reused the icons though.
Actually that whole pre-alpha build looked 10 times better as the final version, much more detail.
@@Casketkrusher_ assets for promos are usually only part of a "vertical slice" of the game. The relics is a good example of devs probably running out of time, rather than an art descision made to make everything look the same. There are 11 relics in the video, but 50 in the finished game. Most likely, the devs decided that the resources could be better allocated in other places. Same with animations that might have needed more tweaking to implement properly.
Roads could have been used to add speed to an army that travelled on them

Yeah, each relic would have it's own appearance, but I guess that because there are so many relics they decided the extra work wasn't worth it. But I think there is a mod that adds them back in.

Animal bored animations are super nice.
I wonder if the Ice Titan was replaced by Folstag in the Ramage campaign since he can freeze enemy titans.
I don't fully know how the freezing effect was going to work, so I used folstag's freezing ability. There is a small chance it had an area freeze effect similar to Skadi's frost. But I feel that this worked better to showcase his titan fighting animations as well. :)
The egyptian statue rings actually show. The animation plays when trying to use a godpower near enemy Isis statues.
They weren't in vanilla. Must have been added back in.
Really? I mean, I haven't played AOM in quite a while, not to mention I haven't played as Isis in ages, so I don't remember.

wow i would love to see a mod in the steam workshop which lets us use some of these animations in multiplayer. the anubite run and the bored animals animations look awesome

age of empires 3 is clearly an very large mod of age of mithology lmao, even the mouse pointer often glitches back to aom pointer...

The santa giant can spawn if you play Loki and get lucky with the spawned myth units of the heroes, that giant was the first one that i saw killing a dwarf with the special attack too (happened in the steam version)
Hope some of these makes it into the (possible) Definitive Edition

the monument rings are still used in the game tho, if you try to cast a god power the moment an isis monument reaches 0 hp, a phantom monument will remain for the rest of the game and continue blocking spells while having those rings around it every time you try to cast one

Yoooo, I remember the upgraded anubites as the default model for them in my vanilla AoM unofficial copy
But they changed back to normal in the Titans version

The isis rings are good, would it make more clear that you can't use the gods powers there

I have already released some of these as a mod on Steam (Shore Fishing, and the Beta Relics) I will release all others soon. The age 2 market and the Temple were already released as a part of the Back to Beta mod on Aom heaven.
2:22 that happend to me once when I was playing a random map and I was destroying the monuments but a ring like that appeared over the last one and it became invincible. Does anyone know why?

Skadi instead of Frigg for Age3 was the right choice would have missed Skadi BUT Frigg should be a 4th major god maybe (hopefully) in the new AOM retold.
Interestingly, some scholars think Freyja and Frigg were originally the same goddess so in a way, Frigg is still in the game.
