It's kinda real but it's called duplex
Feliks and a lot of other top cubers actually kind of use the OOPS method, if they get OLL 56 in a solve, which is considered by a lot of people to be the worst OLL, instead of doing the alg they do F R U R' U' F' to orient some edges and turn it into a T case, and then they do a ZBLL which solves the entire layer and skips PLL.
WOT
(Wrong OLL T-ZBLL)

Me when solving a Rubik's cube:
O.O.P.S!
I use the HELP method:
H perm E perm then Last Pair again!
The OOPS method is very similar to Y Perm You do a OLL alg solve it with a different OLL alg and you solve the cube, which is similar to PLL skip Becoz of AUF or no AUF .(OLL OLL PLL Skip)
Basically two olls mashups. Technically it's just an inefficient 1LLL
T Perm is the same way. It actually uses the same OLL’s as Y Perm, just in the opposite order.

i use a different "oops" method, it's called messing everything up :)
Lol me too
MEU
Method lol😂😂😂
My friend always messes up the U perm(he just learned it btw)
Yes that works for me too. It undoubtedly the best method to exist.
I only use 6 formulas to solve the last layer:
1: R U R' F' U' F R U' R' - swap adj corners
2: F (R U R' U') F’ - diag corners & cross
3: f (R U R' U') f’ - diag corners & cross
4: R U R’ U R U2 R’ - Sune
5: R U2 R’ U’ R U’ R - Anti sune
6: R2 U’ S’ U2 U’ R2 - permute 3 edges
I also use the left versions for even faster solves
The trick is the order of execution:
1. if required do formula 1 else skip
2. depending on pattern of edges and corners (diag swap or aligned) use formula 2 or 3 up to 3 times:
eg1 if cross & corners diag swapped ⇒ do 3 x formula 2
eg2 if corners aligned and “J” edge pattern then do 2 x formula 2
eg3 if corners diag swapped and “r” edge pattern then do formula 3 once
3. Use the sune or anti sune formula to orient the corners…
In the R sune and anti sune, the right edge stays in place, while the front edge moves to the back (the back to the left, and the left to the front)
When doing the R sune, the right edge stays in place.
… so pick the one that will line up at least one full edge.
4. If required, permute the edges.
Has anyone seen this before?
PS: thanks @JPerm for the amazing tutorials on F2L… they dramatically improved my solve times.
Also, thank you very much for the tutorial on the slice formula for permuting the edges… it’s a thing of beauty
I do have a good upgrade for this OOPS Method, i called it CoE, where you do all the corners first, then flip and solve the edges. You can also apply in the opposite way too, ECo, if you know those ZBLL where all edge in the right spot
Only use it for alternative, if the oll algorithm is too long or hard to finger trick. Not recommend to fully shift

When I first started learning pll, there were only a few cases I could immediately recognize. But I found out that by using standard beginner algorithms that I already knew I could manipulate the top layer into a different pll case that I did know. Found out that it’s pretty easy to get a pll skip if all your trying to do is avoid most of them 😂

Surely the question should be, if someone could memorise all the OOPS cases would it’s take more or less moves on average then OLL PLL
id call this snyder. snyder is a method that considt block building until f2l minus 1, and then inserting the edge while inserting a top layer edge. after, do a oll(some algs arent olls most are) and then u get something called L3C basically what j perm had. you use an alg, and it solved the whole last layer.
It’s actually funny because the first time I was learning CFOP this happened to me. I was using a tutorial and legit thought I beat the system 😂
What's the fastest you can do the cube instead of creating the cross when you do first layer and instead makeup 1x4 Cube than a 2x2 Cube then a 2x3 Cube and then the other corner and and then finish? That's actually how I do it I've never done the cross. I learned it from somebody who used to be the world champion years ago when there were not speed cubes. But it would be cool to see a series of you doing the world record holders methods from the beginning of speed tubing to present and see the cool differences of each of these techniques.
This is really helpful
If this worked, imagine how OP 2 look would be
As soon as I saw this, I purposely messed up an OLL than did a second OLL, and I just happened to get a PLL skip on that solve!
Impressingly enough, I use this method almost every time I solve the cube! I average 16-20 seconds using 2-look CFOP because I've been too lazy to learn all the algorithms. However the fastest I've solved thanks to the OOPS method and a lucky cross, fastest time is 12 seconds (:
Have you ever used the FOOPS method? It is exactly what is sounds like. F2l, oll, oll, pll skip
Those turns are really smooth
I don't have all OLL cases memorized so I will just go for yellow cross and will get one that I know. So yes, sometimes I can get an oopps where if don't know the PLL alg, usually a T, Y or H will get it to another PLL that I do know. So OOPPS, where S is solved.
