I think another consideration should be very careful of interactions with other medications and supplements while tapering, because your Central Nervous System gets very sensitive while tapering.

Pity I can't share this information with my GP.

      s u r v i v i n g a n t i d e p r e s s a n t s d o t o r g Bead counting is one very good method with capsules containing beads. 430 days to fully taper 60 mg Duloxetine, generic Cymbalta with minimal withdrawal symptoms. See my other comment, all the best to you. ❤

It's difficult living in Canada, there are no strips or liquid versions of my medication available. The smallest tablet is 10mg and in halves its VERY small.

I’m in Canada as well & didn’t know that. What about a compound pharmacy???? Would they be able to do it? I’m having such troubles getting off citalopram

I’m buying a scale and will sand my pills to taper. These scales are very inexpensive.

Keep up the good work guys. I’m at the end of a long taper. It’s been tough even sticking to the safe method. Mainly mental distress. I’m down to 0.5ml of liquid citalopram and my nervous system has finally stabilised after 5 weeks at this dose. I’m afraid to stop but I’m determined to keep going on this journey. These drugs are v v powerful and should be prescribed with caution. We’ve got this guys!

Thank you very much. I have a much better understanding. Wouldn't it be nice if antidepressant pharmaceutical companies contributed financial to future research on withdrawal?

What about if I've taken 2 doses of a medication? Do you think that I still need to taper off of it?

@@GCT1990 benzodiazepines are a completely different class of narcotics. These have a quick activated effect on the brain. This is why they become highly addictive and difficult to come off of.

@@BL-sd2qw that is not possible. Your body and brain will always fix those issues, it just takes time to heal.

They are safe and have their place, most likely I wouldn't be here if I couldn't find something to help me get out of the pit of despair I was in. Therapy didn't help, the chemical imbalance was unbearable. There just needs to be more information available and better education for patients and doctors.

I know much more than you, went to school for 8 years and studied psychology and have had my own experiences with these types of medication. Anybody who replies with "hahahahahaha" is clearly a child and has no real input.
