    • @roadapple66
      @roadapple66 5 років тому +15

      Melissa Smith: We were our own country. We grew tired of being on the losing end of trading through New York, and took our agri-business to France. The New York traders went to congress, and had congress force us to trade almost exclusively with them. We started shipping our agri-products (cotton, tobacco, lumber, livestock, etc.) to Europe. The Union navy blockaded the South, and we said enough! We seceded from the Union, and established our own government (that was based on the U.S. government, and Constitution: Of which gave us the right to secede). The Union sent in military troops to stop the rebellion. They called it the "Civil War". We called it the war of northern aggression. Historians tell us it was about slavery, and slavery was a factor, but it was more about economics: The same thing every war is fought over. Now, I kick back and await all of the attacks for telling the truth. The closer you are to the truth, the more frequent and vicious the attacks will be.

      SirNathan Noble
      Definitely. He was very liberal. Of course, we ALL know why he is so revered today-even by SOME republicans. He wrote lots of liberal ideas & legislation. One, for instance, there would have been NO state of Texas if he, and other northern lawyers could have had their way. He was also for raising taxes & tariffs on the cotton-producing Southern states, which was a major reason the north & South went to war. Slavery, despite popular belief, wasn't the ONLY reason for the 1861-1865 War of Northern Aggression.

    • @roadapple66
      @roadapple66 5 років тому +2

      @@t4texastomjohnnycat978 : Sir, I apologize. I did not see your post before I commented to another post about how the South should be their own country. I agree with what you posted here 100%. The left keeps rewriting the history books to suit their narrative, but the information is out there if anyone wants to know what really transpired. Lincoln also stated that he would free every slave, or support slavery in every state, if it would preserve the Union. He did not care about human rights. He only cared about his own ambition, and growing wealthy from the exploitation of the Southern states (and any of the states for that matter). It is also a curious fact that after Lincoln emancipated the Southern slaves, there were still slaves in the White House, and a large part of the federal government. It was after Booth "emancipated" Lincoln's head, that the slaves in the White House were freed. Please do not get me wrong: I despise slavery, of anyone, in any form... Unlike the Left, and the rest of the communist bastards that want to enslave the whole world for the benefit of the ruling elite. I use the word "elite" with considerable sarcasm.

      roadapple66
      Hey roadapple66 👋, nice to hear from you. I think ALL of us probably agree that slavery was wrong. It bothers me that a lot of people think that ONLY Southerners practiced this obvious wrong sin. My grandfather's grandfather and two of his sons were farmers in Gibson County near Jackson, Tennessee at the outset of the War Between the States, and even though they owned no slaves, or even used any slaves, fought for the Confederacy with the Army of the Tennessee, but every family did the same. It was their homeland... AND their home, that was being invaded. Anyway, the past is the past, and I wish people would treat it as such, instead of trying to be a victim of something that happened so long ago. You have a great day my friend, and God bless.👍🇺🇸

    • @roadapple66
      @roadapple66 5 років тому +2

      @@t4texastomjohnnycat978 Thank you, sir! God bless you as well. As Americans, we all need to come together and tackle the things that are vexing us now. I do not understand why so many people want to fight this fight over again and again. The abolition of slavery closed a chapter of our history that brought us great shame. It profits no one to dwell on the mistakes that have been resolved long ago. We desperately need to start working on the problems we have today. There are forces in this world that want to see us all dead and destroyed, just because we are Americans. I think we have our hands full with this at the moment, and it helps no one to be distracted with problems that have been long since resolved. If we lose the current struggle, it will be because we were too busy hating and fighting each other over some long past resolved issues instead of recognizing the threat at hand. Most of the world hate us, and they now have a great number of our own people hating us. This element of our own population, that hate us and want to see us destroyed, are our greatest threat today. When this country stands together, it cannot be overcome. That is why our enemies knew they had to destroy us from within. The part that baffles me is: Why is this hatred being cultivated in our own public education system? And, why did we let this get as far as it has? What do we do now to solve the problem, without a bloody revolution, to set things back the way they were when we came together and worked to make our country (and therefore, our citizens) the greatest the world has ever known? We have lost our faith, and our resolve, to be our own culture and country. We put too much value on trying not to offend people that look for things to offend them. The world has always had people that are malcontents and are easily offended by nothing. We started telling them that they had rights that no one has ever had: The right to be not offended, and to have that which we did not work for. Our enemies have successfully used envy, greed, jealousy and hate to turn us against each other. If we do not find a way to come back together, and work as one toward the betterment of our country, then it is over... The most powerful nation the world has ever known, destroying itself over some base emotions we should have grown out of when we became adults and realized that we were being idiots when we were teenagers. I have heard it said that: when one is under the age of 30, and one is not a liberal; then you have no heart. When one is over the age of 30, and has not become socially and politically conservative; then you have no brain. I also heard it said that: Life is a comedy to those that think, and a tragedy to those that feel. It's too bad we can't wrap our heads around that.

    • @roadapple66
      @roadapple66 3 роки тому

      OK. The more I look at it, the more I can definitely say it is not a Martin... The branding on the headstock is wrong for any Martins I have ever seen or played. The guitar itself looks like, and sounds like, a Martin D-18, but the headstock "brand" looks more like a Santa Cruz; which is a top shelf brand that you can't get for $20.00. Their strings cost more than $20.00. I wish the picture was clearer where the headstock can be read. I'd also like to know which strings he has on this acoustic. I have seen Hank live in concert many times. When the band takes a break, Hank sits on a tall stool and does an acoustic solo of several of his songs. I have seen him play Gibson J45's and Gibson Southern Jumbo's. He also played a Guild many times in the 1980's. He made them all sound great.
