Yep guys, I’m taking my CJ with me to the other side when I get the call up. It’s the sum of the attention to little detail again. Just great great instruments. Start saving. PS. Congrats on the impending arrival Mick 😎
1 second ago I’m fortunate enough to own a beautiful Collings I-35 LC deluxe (with amazing flamed top/back) factory aged. The very finest guitar I’ve ever owned. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none. And of course, it’s sounds and plays amazing! I’m a very lucky guy. Bill and the team create works of art!
I toured for 9 years then went back to school because I had a sweet little kiddo. I sold nearly everything to cover school debts. Komet Concorde, matchless hc30, multiple /13 amps, you name it... I've told my wife multiple times that I want my retirement guitar. One guitar and one great amp. I haven't taken my eyes of the Collings line of I-35s since they were introduced.
Just took delivery of this rig. Its not hype its for REAL. Could not believe how effortless it was to play. Everything about the guitar is perfection. The sustain, the cord bends, the frets, the ringing of each individual note is so good its almost unbelievable. I have several Collings and this is a cut above. Its a joy to play.
My Collings is still my favorite guitar. Many have come and gone but its one of those instruments you never give up. I’m keeping mine and one day it will be my sons.
Honestly, it's very hard to imagine any of your guitars getting any better than they already are, but I'll hold off making any judgments until I can try one...
One day I would love to own a left-handed I-30 and a left-handed I-35. Such a great body size being midway between an ES-390/ES-339 and an ES-330/ES-335. Would not choose a relic though.
I own 2 Collings an early CL and a I35LC. I would be very dubious about any fake aging program. It undermines what is already a very high quality instrument. I know that there was a considerable investigation by Bill Collings of the various plywood’s before the decision to launch the LC version some years ago. I would hesitate before I varied from that recipe. It all smells to me a bit like fairydust.
Well... people have to carry on somehow. The market always wants new models, new ideas, new concepts: I love my I-35LC and would not change it, particularly for a thinner neck, reflector knobs and that strap pin in the center position. Other than that, yeah... a guitar with a lot of mojo, particularly when played by Audley Freed
@@RyanRivs42 Guitar for golfers, not a club for golf. Just a little jab toward the fact that this guitar is for rich people. Find me an unsigned artist who could drop six G's on a guitar, and I'll find you a bag of golf clubs in either his or his parents house.
I have no problem with paying extra for increased quality, in terms of workmanship and materials. And I can understand the use of torrefaction, for those who lack patience. But there's no way I could justify paying extra for visual aging -- fake mojo.
It's just giving more players what they want. Unless they stop making what you want to play, why would that be upsetting? It's okay to not like everything a company does and still like them.
Love my Eastman T185mx (basically and I35) but $1700 in Canada when I bought it in 2012. As a full-time musician it’s what I could afford, and I haven’t regretted that purchase ever. I absolutely love the I35s’ I have tried, but my Eastman is not going anywhere :-)
Ohmergahd. This! Congrats guys - cannot wait to play one!

Mick needs to buy the i30 he borrowed the other time. That guitar really suits him.

I'm a Gibson collector although I'm a Collings player. Simply incredible instruments.
Great video, had the privilege to play one of these on our new video for Magnatone. Love Audley Freed.
Best Collings I have played. A truly great instrument and a modern classic for sure.

Didn’t think I needed one of these until I played one!

Holy moly. Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the guitar shop (apart from the fact we can’t at the moment)
Its never safe.
From an advertising point of view, this is a very well done promo piece ...
One of the best models ever from Collings, maybe the best.
I've just recently joined the 335 club and isn't it the most amazing design ever? Now that by Collings... Immediately want one...

I LOVE the tone and material you guys use!
Add one of these to my bucket list then...

Oh man, I need to play one!
Attention to detail X3!
Your marketing people are pretty good, too ....
I want one!!
Ok, sounds good :) How much?
Yep that’ll do
art
Anyone know what the price point on these will be?
I NEED MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol!
Another guitar I’ll never be able to afford.
Send one out, I’ll review it ;)

I want to purchased ga
Audley Freed is kind of like a skinny Lonnie Mack
Collings - love your guitars, but please, always consider your instruments TOOLS FIRST, and WORKS OF ART SECOND
I said the same thing. That kind of put me off
Look like amazing guitars but wow pricey
About ~ 8,4 K$ ...
Only $6000. Man that's going to be a great guitar for golfers.

Golf ... Long range snooker for d*ckheads :)
I get it....but collings are expensive...I have one. Lol...
How many kidney$?
Three
But again (for the millionth time) surely it's the _AMP_ we are hearing and the Guitar is _felt_ by the actual player.?

wish i was rich
We have mass. And and we energy. And we have lots of trying too hard.
I'm a long time Collings fan but I'm so disappointed to see them falling into the "relic-ing" trend. Heavy sigh....

All this for rock and roll? Nah, it’s hype for rich kids and old fools. Eastman’s are just fine.
