Come hang out on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/finnmckenty
I just installed twitch to watch these live
No
I'm gay
And it’s just a hoody with a hole in the cuff.
MAKEDAMNSURE IS A MASTERPIECE SIR
/infinitely loops
"EVER GET TO FAR FROM ME, YOU WONT-"
Louder Now is a classic album from the mid 00’s emo boom. Fred Mascherino just did a play through of this song on his channel “The Color Fred”.
Great song! I still jam out to it from time to time!
I can, however, agree that the video is kinda random.
It totally is!
I actually think Finn is more funny off the cuff than on a pre-recorded video.
Thank you!
Much more. Finn has been getting funnier and funnier each Twitch clip. The Nickelback video is one of the funniest UA-cam videos of the year 😂
The rare case of actually being better live, and I agree
Taking Back Sunday cranked out some amazing material and MAKEDAMNSURE was in there. Love this band...
100% agreed
Facts
Yea, I really liked that album.
WHYCANTIFEELANYTHINGFORANYONEOTHERTHANYOUUUUU
I saw them in 2018 they still rip!
I had a legit spit take when Finn said "God answered my prayers by giving Mark Hoppus cancer."
That had "man that plane crash reunited one of my favorite bands growing up" vibes that I thought when I saw Blink on their first reunion tour. I love dark humor.
😆 🤣 😂
timestamp?
I am shocked by the responses this had, because I had to come to terms with that you meant. Then I can see what you mean out of “staying together for the kids” vibes 😅

Suicide Season is an all killer, no filler album and Chelsea Smile is a certified banger.
Hell yeah I second this
agree 100%
Yeah, agree! The only bmth album i can listen from beginning to end without skipping
@@SerhiiKorepanov come on dude, there is a hell is a front to back no skip masterpiece, as is sempiternal.
@@goner.9989 They are good, I agree, but I can skip at least one song))
I will always love "MakeDamnSure". I remember as a kid listening to the song on my iPod, but growing up in a strict religious household I had renamed it "MakeDarnSure" to not piss off my parents or make them ask questions.
I'm shocked that Finn hasn't already done a No Doubt retrospective but I'm here for it
Capped off with, what the hell happened to Gwen Stefani's face
What's wrong with her face?
Oh damn, I didn't know she looked like that now
I’m shocked he didn’t know it was a cover lol
@@RatelHBadger think she got botox or something
I dont give a single shit about fashion but I could watch Finns fashion commentary for days.
He should really put out Met Gala videos and have a front row seat at New York and Paris fashion weeks!!!
I love that you referenced a woman wearing a white dress wandering around (often in a field), in a video.
That trope was used hundreds of times. Lol
I saw No Doubt as one of the opening acts of Warped Tour 95 and what stood out immediately was the guitar player. He is still the most underrated and overlooked member of the band. 6 months later they were one of the biggest bands on the planet... crazy.
No Doubt holds up. Still listening in 2022.
I was born in 1995. Seems like I missed the best eras for music.😭
No doubt rocks dude. What was great about him was he was a metal guitarist in a ska band. So he added some really cool sounds that probably wouldn’t have been there from a normal ska guitarist. Example: the Spiderwebs rif for the verse, with those cool harmonic bends in it.
@@lambiepie6436 Tom from No Doubt and J from White Zombie in my opinion are the two most underrated mainstream guitarists of the 90's. Both from two of the biggest bands of the decade and noone pays any mind to them. Both of them change the face of music .
The Taking Back Sunday set is actually inside a large walk in cold room at a disused abattoir.
It was also used for the cover of Hoobastank's self titled record, the video for Confide's cover of Such Great Heights, and Arsonists Get All The Girls video for The 42nd Ego.
It was super fun to see finn make fun of other gens but now that he is trolling my teen years I have to step back lmao
It’s my life was originally by a band talk talk. I had to google it but it is indeed a cover. It also said that they decided to cover it for their greatest hit album, which they did while the band was on hiatus.
rip Mark Hollis. :(
Makedamnsure the song is a classic and I remember the band saying that they wanted the video to portray beautiful/positive things coming from destruction/chaos but yeah its always seemed a little off with the theme of the song.
It's bizarre hearing From First to Last and then remembering that they made a comeback album with Spencer from Periphery and that Travis was briefly in The Human Abstract
I was going to say, if Finn wants to hear the good vocal edition of Note to Self, there’s a version with Spencer on that comeback album.
To this day Suicide Season is my favourite BMTH albums and I still listen to it when nostalgia hits. Also brings me back to a darker time in my life which has now luckily turned into a brighter present. Still, despite the negative emotions I have towards it it's still a classic.
Finn being the grumpy grandpa telling these damn kids to hold their mics normal😂
Finn should teach a master class on the importance wrist accessories and correlation to success In the music buisness .
MakeDamnSure is still in HEAVY rotation in my house, it’s one of my 6th grader’s favorite songs xD
I didn’t even get into TBS until i was 24 and i think those first three albums are dope.
Travis from From First To Last made an album with metalcore band The Human Abstract and it was legendary! Also the band made an album with Spencer from Periphery
Perfect timing for me to refresh my UA-cam. Hopefully you get to 100k subs soon on this channel Finn!! Love the content
TBS killed it on that whole album
Always love these 👏🏻👏🏻 also I haven't heard FFTL 'Note to Self' since like 2006...throwback of feelings that I wasn't expecting
Just want to point out the Cancer Bats cameo in the Chelsea Smile video a criminally underrated band that was touring with them at the time.
Cancer bats don't get nearly enough recognition, one of those bands that have been at it for a while and has never missed on an album
12:05 the image of Finn as a leather daddy is all that I can think of now. Mistress Linh holds the chain to your collar
Come for the nostalgia, stay for the leather daddy story. Great upload as always Finn.
Chelsea Smile?!? Undoubtedly one of BMTH's best songs, especially from that era, and Lee Malia's best riff in my book... And this is coming from someone who was introduced to the band properly with Amo... 👀
I've been a fan since suicide season and amo is a banger idc what anyone says
🧡🦇
I had no FREAKING idea Skrillex was the singer for From First to Last, that’s really crazy
The best part of the No Doubt It’s My Life Video is that this was the last song they released before Gwen went solo. And she slowly kills off the other band members. It’s great. 😂
The “wrist accessory” in the tacking back Sunday video is just holes is the long sleeve shirt he places his thumb and possibly another finger through….mystery solved lol
A) I'm still talking about FFTL :') that album still holds up start to finish, "Populace In Two" is *chef kiss*
B) the drums were NOT this awful on the original recordings (definitely not on CD), but they only have this awful drum version on Spotify
C) Sonny Moore dated Ellie Goulding for a while when he first came back with Skrillex
D) Matt Good from FFTL went on to do Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows with Craig from Chiodos, their first album was pretty excellent
The cd that FFTL did with Spencer Sotelo was crisp as fuck. Oddly, I found their best incarnation to be the one with Matt doing vocals. The band experimented and couldn't rely on the appeal of Sonny. Throne to Wolves was not known at all, it was their most mature as musicians though, until they reunited.
My heart your hands
Yeah throne to the wolves slays. I think note to self era was good though; the music stands up, they just had dodgy fashion and videos. Finn is just a professional hater
For me personally, the No Doubt song is the only one that held up. The best part of the video is Finn critiquing 2000s fashion, that will always be entertaining.
He's not wearing "wrist Accessories" it's a regular shirt that he cut up and wrapped around his fingers. My long sleeve shirts would end up like that after cutting thumb holes in them lmao
The thing on Adam's hand always reminded me of an archery tool. And obviously the symbolism in that video is that the beautiful women give you the same warm fuzzy feeling of a good day of woodworking.
My admiration for you grows exponentially when you point out workplace safety issues. It's a big fuccin deal dudes
I love this series man! 🙏
"mics are for singing not swinging" iykyk 😂😂
In 2022 “My humps” is legitimately lyrically subtle compared to the fare today.
Suicide Season is an 11/10 album! It has such a rollercoaster ride of emotions while being heavy and fun as hell
Chelsea Smile was my "getting f@$%ing smashed" anthem for a couple of years thanks to their music video.
I absolutely loved the album that From First to Last did with Spencer from Periphery on vocals. No I'm not making this collab up haha
The fact that Finn sounds like he genuinely does not know that it's my life is a cover is great
Keep this up, love it!
15:35 actually From First To Last dropped an increíble album in 2015 with Spencer Sotelo form Periphery. Definitely an underrated album.
Talking about how fun and not sad bring me the horizon was followed directly by “can you feeeeeeeeel my heartttttttt”😂
The device on the hand is kina a sock for gloves so the cold wind doesnt go inside from the wrist. My jackets have these and inthe winter theyre really really great. Even without wearing gloves they at least keep the palm and knuckles warm
"it's my life"by no doubt is a cover originally by Talk Talk, still a bloody good song.
Ah, the 2000's, when popular music started to fall off a cliff and never recovered at the end of the decade.
When was Pop ever good?
@@eliminator173 well it was never good but it certainly used to be better. I didn't realize how good we had it in the 90's. 2000's sucked but absolutely nothing good has come after that.
There’s good stuff now but it’s really niche and you have to search for it, but yeah I agree with you about not realizing how good we had it
I didn't know No Doubt did a cover of Talk Talk.
I am also shook that Finn didn't know it's a cover of Talk Talk.
I also saw Taking Back Sunday live for that album and Adam was abusing his mic just like in the video, it was great.
Was thinking the same thing - love Gwen wholeheartedly, but imo I still like the original better (and also prefer her/No Doubt's originals over the cover)
I remember hearing my humps and immediately went to a borders ( closed down UK book store ) to buy the album at like 5pm . I came back with 5 for £25 albums 😅
Great content as always.
TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND LOUDER NOW ARE STILL GOOD ALBUMS.
Tell All Your Friends DEMO (8 songs not 10) got me into emo in 2001 lol I saw them at the Agora Theater and From Autumn to Ashes opened for em with Ben Perri still on vocals it was DOPE as FCK.
Ooof that Louder Now Patrone live in Japan album they dropped was that mf HEEEEAAAAT to this little scene-let mannn
it was almost TOO dank, lowkey lol I came dangerously close to loosing all of my shit when i heard Spin for the 1st time heh
I think Where You Want To Be is still pretty good too
Yesssss please do a vid on ND! They're my fav band ever. And yes, Gwen seems so nice, humble, and down to earth. Love her ❤
0:24 is that the same room from suicide silence you only live once??
MakeDamnSure is an amazing song
My 3 year old loves My Humps, so I think it's safe to say not only does it still hold up, but will continue to for at least the next decade.
I hate mustard water, but ketchup water is even more upsetting if you ask me
Yesssssss, another one!!! I’m here for the fashion commentary. 😂😂😂
Taking back sunday always holds up.. and exceeds most others. This no doubt era is the lesser of the no doubt eras. BMTH still holds up easy... the remainder.. I could live without knowing existed.
Gwen and Blake bring top notch hot dog condiments.
Fred Durst brings hot dog flavored water.
Finn must be stopped - taking back Sunday are my darlings.
“ if you’re going to do this finger stuff, You need to have scarfs on your mic stand” there’s no way to explain why that’s true but it is….. I can picture Finn breaking down a video of someone shooting a gun in that gangster sideways style and saying if you’re going to hold it sideways you need to make sure you’re wearing a doo-rag and wife beater….just hold it normal!” Love you Finn
Exactly!
"This era of No Doubt is forgotten."
Not much to remember. It was a Greatest Hits album.
Didn’t they release a reggae Dancehall inspired album around that time as well also after Spending time in Jamaica? I know that shit was pretty forgotten
I loooove From First To Last. I still unironically listen to them on a monthly basis 😂
skrillex is awesome
@@chrisslaughter8448 I did buy that scary monsters album when it came out 😂
Makedamnsure is pop punk emo perfection
Mr Finn, the only reason I know of "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi is because of that damn Wendy's commercial 😂. you should look it up. It's rather amusing. Also, Subscribed.
MakeDamnSure by Taking Back Sunday and Note To Self by From First To Last are emo classics and they are songs that I still listening to. Moreover, how to forget Chelsea Smile by BMTH! It's one of their best songs.
makedamnsure is the greatest pop punk single of the 2000s
From First to Last was and still is good. I agree with Finn, FFTL was huge in the scene back in the day and now they are kind of forgetten about. Also the breakdown in Chelsea Smile is still one of my all time favorites.
Idk if you REALLY be reading every comment fr or not, >.> but either way..
I TOTALLY agree how weird it is that FFtL like NEVER gets mentioned in any convos i have/see abt the scene around this 04 era or skrillex too! I mean ive always been openly/shamelessly a skrillex hater lol and ive always said a big part of it was cause liek, "sonny, wtf i KNOW you know what music sounds like, and how to make it; you think we dont all vividly remember note to self? XP" (mildly related interest, btw, check out that track "the latest plague" by them; its their last project before he went off to start doing wubba dubba stuff, & you (I, srry) can hear how the electronic music is creeping into the whole thing xD and if im being real, i freakin DIG IT and always wished THAT sound was further explored/refined so bad lol I feel like it woulda been a way better flavor of "skrillex" than the one we got if it were heh Curious abt your insight on that, or if those were 2 dots you already connected as well :D
but you aint gonna reply to this for free, im betting xP cause i aint about to pay to ask you over twitch lmao soo ill just meet you in the middle for both of us and sayyy Ayeee, good shit, shouting out them bois If I Die First ;D it wasnt never a phase bish x) i hope to still be as plugged in as you when i grow up hehh good ear mate
aight, tty in like 2 more years next time i leave a comment haa
Did every rock video from the mid-2000's have nature stock footage? Example; Foo Fighters Best of You video
That’s it! Those girls are going back to the warehouse to sort compression fittings. No injuries on my job site!
"Make Damn Sure" is about lust. That explains the References in the video. Lol
It was hard to watch Finn bash Taking back Sunday lol I love that band so much and they just have such great energy and all awesome dudes! And I just love this song and video! Lol it’s weird but them
That first From First to Last album still slaps.
Also, who can hate No Doubt??
Oil Sykes just gets better looking …
Love that song + album - love the next album There is a Hell…
But I love it all. Great band.
And as for the ladies with power tools earlier I’d have liked to see them in some high vis … I don’t wanna be filling in that accident book!
the old people in the 90s- 2000s scremo videos are there to remind you of your mortality. Every one of those bands needed to remind you, one day you will day
Dear diary still fucking slaps. I have no shame in saying that.
im convinced this video is bait, note to self and makedamnsure hold up still and are great songs.
Finn does it again with the most in depth wrist accessory commentary on UA-cam!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Had the chance to see No Doubt live in 1996 in London (underworld) Very small stage (in the 1000 peeps or something) and Gwen was simply so captivating. Sh's got that magnetic stage presence. I liked No Doubt a lot at the time, not listening much to them nowadays though.
Yeah saw them in ‘96, She had all the guys and the girls in the crowd eating out of her hand…. I mean she’s still gorgeous obviously but Gwen in 96 was simply jaw dropping and had the coolest energy, I remember Bush played the same show,
The symbolism behind the ''Satisfaction'' video is subtle but it's a critique of the overreaching of capitalism.
I saw taking back Sunday earlier this month with my chemical romance, they were actually really good lol
Talk Talk was the original It's my Life in 1984. I looked it up, I just had to know.
Thank you for FINALLY reacting to "MakeDamnSure"! I was not disappointed!
Make Damn Sure is pretty decent but could benefit from better hooks because let's face it, hooks can be the "make it or break it" of good pop-punk and melodic punk.
I like It's My Life fair enough, though purists will say it's ND selling out and making way for Gwen Stefani going full pop (no punk) later on.
My Humps blows, lol.
Hey MDS by TBS is one of the best "I'm horny" songs ever.
I feel personally attacked that anyone would think makedamnsure aged bad?
I guess we know what side Finn was on for the "Mic's are for singing not swinging" feud 🤣
It took a decade before I knew no doubt was a cover. I was at a random “goth night” and the original it’s my life.
Note To Self is literally the best hardcore song I ever heard.
"Always vote for the cuter one." I live my life by this mantra.
I look forward to the Finn Mckenty "Artists I'd Invite to a Barbecue" tierlist
Finn you are on fire lately! So freaking funny man 😂
Thank you!
Finn looks like the type of guy who would go to a party and hang out with the dog or cat..and I respect that
The animal clips in MDS all reside around the theme of “going in for the kill”
Love the did it hold up or not videos. Yes do a no doubt history/gwen ❤
I remember I saw taking back Sunday live, and I was getting serious Mick jagger vibes
I saw them live a couple weeks ago (opening for My Chemical Romance) and Adam gave me Ian Curtis vibes! He was doing similar dance moves
@@guen4413 i saw them probably 15 years ago now. They put on an awesome show. I think they were opening for angles and airwaves, but I was way more excited to see taking back Sunday
