Can't believe that I am the first one to comment on this wonderful tune. I have been listening to this man since he played with Return To Forever in the 1970s. His acoustic work is terrific and the Step It, Double Up and Assembler releases are all strong ones in my opinion. Come on, this song deserves more than 141 views.

Bought this when it was released in 86'/87'---also had "Step It".
To me he was unfairly compared to Holdsworth. I was excited simply because he was back on the fusion scene after 10 years. He got me into "Return to Forever"---and before you knew it he was out and DiMeola was there. So I my humble opinion---this was him stating "for those that don't remember me---I was at the vanguard when it all started"!!!

Killer "jam track" off Double Up.. Bare bones, it's basically an "outside" blues jam..unlike the other incredible compositions Bill created during this era.. On this one the boys burned it up and let loose!! I agree with Leon Guisburg.. ..Bill was unfairly scolded for sound "too much like Holdsworth".. Those of us that are musicians here and especially guitarists,, we were all influenced by Holdsworth (How could you not be?) To me all the 80's fusion recordings are unique and to me.. very much still sound like Bill Connors.. he had just been inspired by Holdsworth.. nothing wrong with that. What he created was beautiful.. and in years to come, it will be appreciated more and more.

Bought the vinyl when it came out. Already had the Return to Forever “Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy” (1973).

Technically proficient, but not a good idea for a great player like BC to sound like what most people would identify as another great player.
