  • The night of May the 10th / 11th 2024 saw one of the most stunning aurora / northern lights displays ever witnessed in Cornwall and the UK. I spent most of the night on Bodmin moor at the famous Cheesewring rock formations capturing this jaw dropping display with 3 cameras.
I never dreamed that a display of this magnitude would ever be visible this far south, it was very unexpected and truly incredible to photograph.

Thats interesting, you can see how the isolated proton aurora blobs also emit red light at highet altitudes.
I've seen it from northern italy and I thought it was just green because the red proton aurora pillars weren't noticeable with the normal red auroral glow behind them.
