    as you mention, the "bottom" tools can get scattered in HD style clam shell boxes... this is why it's good to keep the foam insert. If you threw it away, you can always make a new one out of packing material, cardboard, etc.

    Mark, I had to subscribe to make mention that the Foam pad is to keep the sockets from coming loose and coming out of their positions if the box should fall over. Also, I'm going to give it a shot with the seller that advertised on Facebook for $9.99, which I have a feeling is a scam, but if it is the CC company will reverse the charges! PS good video, next time remember the foam stays in the box.

    Just as a recommendation. I would have mentioned how many teeth that the ratchets have. For me at least it's a selling point. For example, I bought my ratchet set from GearWrench because they had 94 teeth.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  5 років тому +1

      Thanks! There's just a lot more of everything, like 4 more metric and 4-5 more SAE wrenches. I would get the 268 if I had a choice. I recently replaced an alternator and it was nice having all 268 to choose from. The 268 set needs a few thing added to it though. It needs a T-25 torx socket, and my set didn't include a 16mm wrench, which might be included now.

    Reviews of the 270 piece set complain about the drawers falling out easily and spilling the contents all over. What's been your experience? Been looking (to get my grandson for Christmas) at this set vs. the Craftsman 232 piece set at Lowe's, whose box apparently has side latches to keep the drawers shut. Any experience with the Craftsman set? Thanks.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  3 роки тому +1

      I've been very happy with this set. I am careful not to let the drawers fall out. I think the only thing it needed was a T25 socket for changing my taillights. If they had side latches, that would be a bonus. I don't know if Craftsman has the same no receipt, no question warranty that Husky has.

      2 things. When you carry it you have a choice to carry it with the drawers close to your body or away from your body which ever works best OR use a bungee cord around it during transport. I had drawers slip out once and I simply turned the set the opposite way that they fell out during transport and that ended that. I have the 268 pc set and it is BETTER than the 270 pc set. 270 pc set has "48" pcs of fluff for sure compared to 268 pc set.

    • @Jim_in_AR

      @@44warden Thanks. It looks like the 268 piece set is no longers available. I've even wondered if maybe I shouldn't even get him a set with so many pieces, and just maybe get a nicer set, maybe the 74 piece 3/8" Tekton set. If I got him that and wanted to get him an additional size, would you recommend a 1/4" or 1/2" set?
