  • This jingle was composed by Allen Spears and arranged and produced by David Powell circa. 1978. It was broadcast in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to encourage people to vote YES for cable TV. (Was there ever any doubt???)

Hey that was great! Really rare stuff and evocative of the time. I'm surprised there haven't been more views or comments.
    Thanks!!

Well, it did pass. Cox and Multimedia cable came in later. (with Cox buying out Multimedia in 1990 i think)

Actually, Cox bought Multimedia in 1999. It also bought the stake in Pan-Oklahoma Communications it didn't own in 1984, folding that company's eastern Oklahoma City service area into Cox's western OKC operations. In between that time, Cox served Oklahoma City proper and Multimedia in almost all of the suburbs.

@@tmanokc Oh, Thanks! I read an old article that said 1990, but I guess it was just in the planning stage. Thanks again!
