      Dude, his English is completely fine. He just has an accent. You can tell he reads a ton in English. This interview wasn't hard for him because it was English it was because he got whooped and is very disappointed.

      @@chessenjoyer9657 Magnus is equal in praise and criticism. I think the recent comment about Nepo is the only one that probably was too far, but you can't fault someone for having a confident personality. Don't be a snowflake and expect participation trophies.

    Chess is indeed fair, that's whys it's so brutal. With other sports it's easier to get advantage by a referee mistake, but on the board you're at your own... Chess is scary, it resambles life

      Chess is incredibly brutal and the highest time limit I've played is rapid. I can't imagine classical. I heard someone compare losing in classical chess to being physically strangled.

    You win some losing position and sometimes you get blown off the board. It's a give and take, the good thing is that ding is playing really well for someone who had next to no time to prepare for the candidates. He started shaky but had a super strong comeback. He just needs a lot of game time playing against the best.

    I am an Indian, I love Ding as a great human being apart from being a top class Chess Master. As people are commenting, I think we shouldn't judge people on the basis of in which country they were born. If true sports spirit has one thing then this is it that you don't discriminate just because of race, religion, creed or country.

      @@japman5699 They forced nepo to renounce his country to participate. This over the top political bullying needs to stop. Also nepo is basically second player in the world depending how you measure. They banned karjakin for political opinions in violation of modern ideals of free speech and prohibiting discrimination.

      I again emphasise I missed Dubov & Karjakin in this candidates. If they were in, It would've been great for chess history. No doubt they are among the finest players.
      Game should be still from politics & so should be players.

      @@japman5699 Players should be allowed to have political views as long as they don't go overboard such as holding political signs during games or shouting slogans. That's how it is for most athletes, but it's different for russians because western media outlets are gearing up for World War III and part of their plan is singling out Russia.

    All and all, Ding has played quite well in the tournament so far, even though there have been some risky moments for both Ding and his opponents. I think Ding's answer was excellent, he seems quite humble and nice in his interviews.

    Ding and Nepo have such immense talent but Magnus is almost inhuman with how cold blooded he is at the table. I can see Nepo putting up a great fight after what he's learnt and experienced from last attempt

    I'll take 'chess is fair' though. I'm sure he is just as steadfast in victory and even his losing opponents feel dignified. Plus his name is Ding. That's excellent.

    I think this quote has to be marked as legendary. Cause he is right. Chess, unlike other games, doesn't rely on luck or any other random things. The final outcome is based exclusively on your decisions, and there is absolutely nothing to blame it on but yourself. Chess has not favorites, chess is not racist, *chess is fair* .

    Chess is the fairest game of all, I realized that when I got frustrated with other competitive games, that was when I got a little deeper into chess. And chess is beautiful: all the information is there, there is nothing random, no teammates, no dexterity, just beauty 😍 also, after you spend some time with chess you start to use some chess principles in the other games and actually get better. Chess is the best.

    Top 3 player of this generation are carlsen, nepo and ding. These players are very consistent. Fabi may squeeze in 3rd but for me ding safely secures that spot.
