Ding owns his mistakes and that is the sign of a true champion.
That woul make the majority of bad players true champions, which isnt true. This is a low bar
Chess has no one to be blamed other than yourself
?
@@traplover6357 how you lose shows more about you than how you win. There are thousands of great chess players, what the world needs are more good people. Ding had that side figured out.
Melvin - he will be a champion one day. Slowly but surely.
How can anyone not like this guy🥺feeling sad for Ding. Hope he performs well in upcoming tournaments.
People might be upset because his country seems to be the next dominant imperialist force in the world, with conc£ntr4t1on c@mps and stuff. :(
@@Zerradable WTF does his country have to do with his character and play?
I dont like him because he's playing for CCP
@@chessenjoyer9657 so you judge people based on where they come from? sad
@@Zerradable we all know what the USA World order means, I much prefer Chinese world order. Less invasive you know.
He was still smiling after such disastrous defeat.. he needs to be treasured💎🥺
dude looks like he was just crying :(
I really admire him so much

It's gotta be hard doing an interview in English after a loss like that. Props to Ding
Right I always thought they had interpreter but I guess not.
Dude, his English is completely fine. He just has an accent. You can tell he reads a ton in English. This interview wasn't hard for him because it was English it was because he got whooped and is very disappointed.
@@ilikecommenting6849 you're missing the point. He talks quite slow and soft. He's obviously not 100% comfortable / confident.
If your English is bad then it’s difficult to speak English in any situation 😀 It’s about terrible loss, not about language.
@@ilikecommenting6849 no its not
i can tell hes bad at english
why are you defending his english
?????
Ding and Nepo. Let's appreciate two unusually humble characters who have made it to the top.
Then there's magnus making fun of everyone else. No class at all. He's only good at chess thats all interesting about him
Exactly, both true gentlemen!
@@chessenjoyer9657 Magnus is equal in praise and criticism. I think the recent comment about Nepo is the only one that probably was too far, but you can't fault someone for having a confident personality. Don't be a snowflake and expect participation trophies.
Nepo is arrogant son of a.. lmao check his interviews.. don't even compare Nepo and Ding.. liren is the most humble ever.. not a single bone of malice in his heart.. mad respect
@@chessenjoyer9657 Welcome to sports and competition. It's kinda how it works. And when you're possibly the greatest of all time... you get some bragging rights
He will be remembered as one of the greatest players of our generation
Maybe as much as Taimanov (which I think is already quite a nice achievement)
He is now
I have so much respect for Ding. A champion's mentality right there
Ding is such a nice guy 👌
Ding is so adorable guy and great GM! Good luck for next tournaments!
highly agree
World champion material! Congrats Ding Liren!
Chess is indeed fair, that's whys it's so brutal. With other sports it's easier to get advantage by a referee mistake, but on the board you're at your own... Chess is scary, it resambles life
nice
Chess is incredibly brutal and the highest time limit I've played is rapid. I can't imagine classical. I heard someone compare losing in classical chess to being physically strangled.
Chess is a little bit of luck, also. If your opponent made a blunder, what position you're in and what your opponent is going to do
Well said
Chess is not scary it is a game
This man is an elite. How you hold yourself in defeat shows who you are. And this man is so calming to the soul😍
Ding is actually very brave for being open about his loss, Nepo refused to answer many questions after his loss in game 6
Ding after win or loss ,same expression , same attitudes 👏👏
hard not to love and respect him. great genius, number 3 among 7 billion people. legendary chess player and humble angel
His mentality is amazing, not just because of this quote
The second inspirational quote this wonderful Human Being has given. The first was in one of the earlier interviews. He said “Just believe in the position”. And now “Chess is fair”. 😎😎💯💯🔥🔥
You win some losing position and sometimes you get blown off the board. It's a give and take, the good thing is that ding is playing really well for someone who had next to no time to prepare for the candidates. He started shaky but had a super strong comeback. He just needs a lot of game time playing against the best.
What a great competitor. There are not many like him.
No matter the outcome Ding has made a fan out of me this tournament!
I am an Indian, I love Ding as a great human being apart from being a top class Chess Master. As people are commenting, I think we shouldn't judge people on the basis of in which country they were born. If true sports spirit has one thing then this is it that you don't discriminate just because of race, religion, creed or country.
Tell it to fide they love banning russians
@@randymctavish3728 Nepo is also from Russia, he's playing in Candidates isn't he? I'm sure you need to read a bit more about reason of banning; surely it is not just the country of origin.
@@japman5699 They forced nepo to renounce his country to participate. This over the top political bullying needs to stop. Also nepo is basically second player in the world depending how you measure. They banned karjakin for political opinions in violation of modern ideals of free speech and prohibiting discrimination.
@@randymctavish3728 spot on Sir. I agree with you. But both sides aren't totally correct in this scenario.
I again emphasise I missed Dubov & Karjakin in this candidates. If they were in, It would've been great for chess history. No doubt they are among the finest players.
Game should be still from politics & so should be players.
@@japman5699 Players should be allowed to have political views as long as they don't go overboard such as holding political signs during games or shouting slogans. That's how it is for most athletes, but it's different for russians because western media outlets are gearing up for World War III and part of their plan is singling out Russia.
Chess is brutal because the only person you can blame for any mistake is yourself
What a guy ❤️
his right eye somehow blinks "harder" than the left
He is so nice and humble
The Ding Walk is one of the coolest games this year.
Truly historic!
Many other players have since begun walking their kings.
What a beautiful soul this man is!
All and all, Ding has played quite well in the tournament so far, even though there have been some risky moments for both Ding and his opponents. I think Ding's answer was excellent, he seems quite humble and nice in his interviews.
Ding is all class
Imagine what Liren could do with a capable team behind him. Absolutely wreck the 2700s and become a real headache for the top super GMs, even more than he already is.
He is so humble , i like this now he has become my fav
Lone fighter
P.S.- there are no seconds to his team due to travel restrictions.he is all alone there. So keeping that calm, composed mindset is really tough when you don't have someone to share your thoughts..
What a great guy! So honest
The most honest man on earth 😂
Someone needs to give this guy a hug
"That's a nice way to po---" (already walking off...)
Respect for doing an interview after loosing like that 🖤🫡
Very classy, Best wishes Mr. Ding Lirang..
Breaks my heart. Ding's the best.
She borrowed rapport’s jacket.
But actually tho
sus
It's exciting that we have the youngest Candidates winner of all time this year, but how can you not love Ding, man. Will be rooting for him to defend his title.
I like how he maintains an eye contact
Thats what a true champion should act when they lost, unlike some others who couldnt take their losses.
What a great player!
Ding is such a humble, pleasant guy. Rare personality type at the top. I hope he finds more pleasure in playing Chess soon, because everyone misses "prime" Ding.
Still rooting for him!
I feel so bad for him. I really hope that he will find a sponsor or somethingto have a decent team
Ding Liren I want to say something to you
You are very nice guy your personality your calmness just amazing simple man don't underestimate anyone and very humble guy I wish one day you will be world champion because you have the character of a champion
There are no chess fans who doesn't like Ding liren
Big respect for the humility.
Nice interview by Ding
He knows very well that he is too good .
Ding has no second and clinched the 2nd place, that tells you how strong he is
Kante of Chess
Chess is fair, good moves= win, bad moves= loss
Ding and praggnandhan both are so soft spoken and smart
Ding has a massive brain. jeez.
Ding, blink if you need help
Ding is obviously a gentleman, and an exciting member of the chess elite.
Ding is in the top 5 players of chess . His mind is extraordinary and his humility a treasure. Ding may not play in the next WC, but he will be a serious threat for years to come.
Next world champ right here. You can Print my words. (not the reporter)
Não fez um torneio tão bom, mas pra mim continua como o melhor candidato. E é sem dúvida uma pessoa incrível com o coração muito bom.
Muito de acordo contigo.
Ding is a badass, great in the second half of candidates. Best of luck to him, hopefully he can attend more tournaments going into the next one.
We want to see the Ding walk of the end of interview
I am beginning to believe that Ding is not who he is. He beat Nepo, becomes champion last year, then went downhill after. What happened?
Ding is the king!
Ding and Nepo have such immense talent but Magnus is almost inhuman with how cold blooded he is at the table. I can see Nepo putting up a great fight after what he's learnt and experienced from last attempt
Chess is "64 shades of grey from white to black" . 🙂
Chess is fair But life is unfair 🗿
I feel so disappointed to not have seen Ding's legendary ending interview
It's okay Ding. The world of chess knows your true potential.
Ding The King
dont worry we are still love you
Life may not be fair but chess is.
Wesley So and Ding are the best examples of humility.
he's so cute🥺
gay
A winner in my book.
Damnnn!
I wanted to see his legendary goodbye!!!
The clip ended soon!
I'd give anything to booze him up, and get him to sing/ shout "Oi git knocked down! But I git up again! Yer never gunna keep me down!"
I'll take 'chess is fair' though. I'm sure he is just as steadfast in victory and even his losing opponents feel dignified. Plus his name is Ding. That's excellent.

I want him to win
Ding the philosopher
Chess is truly the fairest game. No luck involved, just misinterpretations of a position
It’s 2022 and people still think there is 0 luck in chess 🫤
Ding is a true legend❤
Such a nice way to point it
chess speaks for itself
He definitely has a new fan in me now
I'm wondering if the reporters even know the rules
I think this quote has to be marked as legendary. Cause he is right. Chess, unlike other games, doesn't rely on luck or any other random things. The final outcome is based exclusively on your decisions, and there is absolutely nothing to blame it on but yourself. Chess has not favorites, chess is not racist, *chess is fair* .
Chess is the fairest game of all, I realized that when I got frustrated with other competitive games, that was when I got a little deeper into chess. And chess is beautiful: all the information is there, there is nothing random, no teammates, no dexterity, just beauty 😍 also, after you spend some time with chess you start to use some chess principles in the other games and actually get better. Chess is the best.
Ding you be a champion!! I BELIVIEVE YOU
i love this guys so much :)
Feeling bad for Ding and Fabi🥺
But congo to Nepo
all class
I agree.
Ding true warrior
It's honestly my favorite game even though I'm trash because the only person I can blame is myself.
Top 3 player of this generation are carlsen, nepo and ding. These players are very consistent. Fabi may squeeze in 3rd but for me ding safely secures that spot.
Nepo is NOT top 3. Nepo always fold in a Championship.
Ding is the capybara of chess players, everybody likes him
this man needs a rest. Look at him, he is about to short circuit
The chess audiences should have to read subtitles while GMs speak in their natural language and flow.
so they can calculate more than 30 moves away, but they struggle on answering every question this woman is asking them
