    First of all I want to say that I'm writing this comment with the best intent in mind, I love t8, love the character, and I wish you the best luck with your channel hoping to grow fast and quick. That said, there are too many incorrect, incomplete or outright wrong statements and since this guide is aimed to beginners, it is better to start with the most accurate information possible rather than correct bad habits in the future. Let's have a look:
    1,1 --> you don't have to go 1,1 every time. Just 1 is ok, especially in the first couple of rounds to get the "rythm" of your opponent. 1 is +1 on block, 1,1 is -9. Get a feel for when it might get a counter hit. If you are a beginner it can be hard to hit confirm 1,1,1+2,1 online, so if you go 1,1,1+2 it is not the end of the world, especially in heat, and you can allways finish the string if u predict your opponent is going to press.
    2,1,2,1 --> I can write an essay about this string. This string alone can get you to purple ranks if you master it. First of all, if you whiff (on purpose or not) the first hit and CH the second one, the rest is guarantee so go ham. Then the 3rd and 4th hits are highly delayable, do that. Between the 2nd and the 3rd hit there is an auto parry built in it, so encourage them to press in it, make it look like you whiffed, or train them you allways stop the string, then delay and hit. The last hit is a CH launcher. If your opponent is button happy, and they will be at low ranks, delay even more the last hit and launch them. The real weakness is that the 3rd hit is high, but you won't find anyone that can punish that till fujin and above. At orange and red ranks they will start to randomly duck, not because they know, just as a general reflex, in that case do the last hit fast.
    3,3 --> use it but not abuse it. You will hit 100% of the time till purple ranks, then they will start to low parry it. You can still use it once in a match even there, but if you are in the habit of abusing it, you will need to unlearn that, and it will take some time, so start correctly.
    4,4 --> DO NOT use it as a poking tool. If they block you will get punished, even at low ranks. its only purpose is to punish -12 moves with push back, the most useful example is bryan's df+2,3. And you have better whiff punishes.
    db+1+2 --> the most common use is when you are getting pressured at wall. Never use this move against characters with a lot of knees elbow, throws or jumping attacks. But it is good vs mishimas or steve for example. In the neutral it is better to use d+1+2 beause it is safe and less linear.
    f+2+3 --> try to use it at tip range. It's i22 meaning that at low ranks you won't be able to use it when your opponent is close. Use a lot of b+1+2 and b+1 instead.
    u+4 --> it's an orbital not an hop kick. I had to say it :D
    b+3 --> don't use it at low ranks. They will never leave you the time to hit with it. Start implementing it at red ranks, then it will fall off again at tekken king territory. Use the new db+3 instead, it can be considered the new main low. It leads you in heremit stance at +5, and it is safe on block with an asterisk, in the sense that if you react to the block and they try to punish, with any punish, you can do parry from heremit and it will work. They can still wait for that and launch you, but i have not found anyone that knows of this interaction to this date. On ch 4,1+2 or 1+2,1 are guarantee, depending if you want more damage or heat.
    Speaking of lows d+3,2 is the classic (it is not seeable, and nobody will correctly punish it till high ranks, if you see them block the 2, spam 1, it will work), d+2,4 if you need a fast one (alternate between ending and not ending the string), and db+4 is super nerfed use it very sparingly when you know you are going to counter hit. It leads to db+2,1+2 but no more mini combo and it is -15 on block. Best oki tho.
    For heremit I'd add 4 (and 4,1+2 if you want to finish the string) cause it is your fastest option, if your opponent is still pressing buttons.
    uf+2 --> don't use it as a whiff punish, you have way better options. It's a pressure tool for the wall or after heat engage, but don't use it at low ranks, the move is too slow.
    I'd add more but I'll end here.I hope this is usefull to someone, somewhere in the internet and take this comment as a constructive critique. Wish you the best luck

      The intention is to keep it simple, but if anyone started to get comfortable with the character, reached red ranks and now wants more, they can go back to this comment and pick something to add to their toolbar.

    • @TechRoll123
      @TechRoll123 11 місяців тому +9

      @@Mojomanmax The best one is ff+2,2 for sure, but you have to practice a bit because if you are a bit late and they block it is launch punishable. Other ones are f+4,4 and f+1+2. That said if they are pretty close you can allways do df+2,1+2.
      Fun fact: we had the best whiff punish move in the game in 7 but it has been removed in 8, lol

Other guides tell what safe moves to do and frame data which is cool and all but you tell the application, then when and the why and a game plan which really helps a newb like me understand it more. The gameplay at the end was nice cuz you only used what you just taught and not some other high level stuff. Thanks a lot.

    As a first timer to Tekken- Leroy, it is exactly my guy. Theres a lot of fun characters, actually. I dont play him nearly as defensively as I should, and I still have a lot of combo stuff to work on. But for the mindgames and mixups alone, he's so good at applying pressure and keeping people guessing. Just my basic knowledge of that stuff got me to brawler. Do NOT be afraid to get aggressive, but if you notice yourself getting caught up by the opponent- take a step back to breathe and focus on countering and playing more defensively for sure. Leroy is lowkey a monster when it gets down to comebacks.

    4, 4 is -13 on block (didnt hear u mention it in the video) so as a poke its pretty lacking and u have to be pretty careful in how u use it or you'll get punished for 30 damage or more
    10:05 (u4 or uf4) is an orbital and not a hop kick
    also qcf2 (elbow) is a launcher that is safe on block (-6) and ducks jabs if timed correctly

    • @judge_rekt
      @judge_rekt  11 місяців тому +2

      It is good for poking at max range, because it is harder to punish with jabs from that distance. I usually don't talk too much about frame data in these guides, because they are aimed at beginners. Don't want to blow their minds out with another 20min lecture on mathematics. Maybe I'll do a seperate frame data video later, or intermediate guides for the characters, where frame data is more important, but I can not tell right now when I am able to get to that.

    Is df2,1+2 no longer a good launcher to use ?

    • @judge_rekt

      Tested it with sample combo 9.
      df2,1+2 launcher total damage 70.
      ff2,2 launcher total damage 69.
      But df2,1+2 is -18 on block.
      ff,2,2 is -15 on block.
      That means, even if both are unsafe, with reaction time you are less likely to get launched after f2,2.
      ff2,2 also has better range, so it is easier to use as a whiff punish launcher than df2,1+2.
      You can still use both, I just think ff2,2 is a little, VERY LITTLE, bit better.

    in the progress of learning him i think as well he is really weak. only one command throw which everyone will escape eventually, only 15 frame stand up punisher that actually can do some dmg, lack of mid launchers which are have some range, weaker combos compared to others, while reina, dragunov, and many more easily can throw up a 80 dmg no heat combo, leroy just cant. heat smash has very short range and not even low starer, very limited mixup possibilities, no whiff punish launcher. while playing leroy is fun for some time, you will struggle at higher ranks. Only advantage playing him besides u like his style not so many players know how to defend against him yet. btw started to play him after i saw your video:) and i like to play less popular characters. cane should be usable once per round, or once per match but 1 per each version. the forward one is blocked almost everytime anyway
