Good luck to the next plumber who has to fix this 4 months from now since the flange was overscrewed and the seal will crack. They won't be able to get those nuts because they were trimmed so short, hopefully they have a friend with some high level power tools who can come save them. (I have no idea what I'm talking about, just putting random complaints to inspire your next voiceover)
I once replaced a toilet in my home that had both flange bolts bent over like in your video. Is this something some plumbers intentionally do to keep the nuts from loosening? Nice video.
My little designated 2 1/2 gallon toilet vacuum cleaner does just fine, and it was only 15 bucks, I'm to old to fork out 70 bucks for your miracle dust
is this product a good idea if the gasket hole perimeter is less defined or do I need to tile a new circle? One side has about an inch of space between edge of gasket to the tile edge but the other is about an inch and a half to two inches from the outside edge of old gasket to the tile's edge. Thank you in advance for any assistance. I appreciate it.
Great job, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Are not supposed to lay a bead of plumber's putty on the bottom of the commode before you secure it to the floor?
That’s not a good idea, though a lot of ppl do it. If you ever have a leak you won’t know about it while the trapped water damages your floor. A compromise is to caulk or grout it but leave a gap in the back for water to escape.
in todays episode were going to be pulling and resetting this toilet. its got a bad wax seal so every time you flush it a little bit of water pools around the base. Ok I cant remember anymore of the voice over.
if you use a spacer you have to seal between the yellow flange and the red spacer with caulking. too bad you only get one gasket and it's so expensive. otherwise its the best repair flange ever.
@@powderdescent it actually turns back into liquid when water is added. So would you reinstall the toliet you just let it fill back up and flush per usual.
When I didn't know they made these flange extensions, I stacked wax rings, and yeah they don't stick together well. Had to warm them up with my hands and use some pottery skills to mold a seam. Pretty sus 😅
Not for nothing. I've see so many toilet replacement videos. I installed mine 35 years ago and nothing, no leaks, other than the replacement of the flush mechanism and supply hoses, no leaks 😊
Why don't you just cut the old ring out and install a new one instead of some band aid. A little roto hammer, a new stainless ring and some pourstone and it's a forever repair.

Nice looking pull and reset buddy, thanks for taking us along 👍
You bet
These toilet flanges are crazy 😅 never seen anything like them been plumbing since 2006 in New Zealand, Australia and England loving the channel
I love the voiceovers, but I also love the sound only vids like this. It was nice having ine of each for the same job today!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh shit I've been paying too much for liquilock. They make bottles now 😮
Was the previous wax ring engaged at all with the toilet???

I think this was a workaround instead of having to saw them off in order to fit the caps. I don’t think I would recommend attempting
It’s ridiculous. Just do it right and cut them to the right length.
They’re just lazy. Bending them wouldn’t keep anything from loosening up.
HEY BOY! Thats a damn fine tutorial!
Happy Holidays, Replumb🎉🎄🎁🎊🤶🏻🎅🏻❄️🍰🎂☃️
What size Knipex cutters are you using? 6” or 8”? 160 or 200?
Nice and professional work as always!
Was this on concrete? What size pilot hole and what length / size screws did you use?
Dude, the yellow extension isn't PVC glued to the old? It's just set in place dry?
My little designated 2 1/2 gallon toilet vacuum cleaner does just fine, and it was only 15 bucks, I'm to old to fork out 70 bucks for your miracle dust
Wow, it cost that much ? What is it called ?
Don't forget the waste you produce for what?

I was always taught to never caulk the bottom in case a leak causes structural damage
Why was a new flange used instead of a taller wax seal? Is it because he needed a new foundation for the toilet bolts?
Whats the purpose of this device you installed?
I've always used a spanner flange.
Can the shut off valve stub out be on an exterior wall by code? I have one that comes out of the floor that I'll need to move for a new toilet.

Why mark the bolts at 12 rather than just rotate the toilet once its in place to square it up? Not saying its wrong
I prefer to tighten the bolts down with two sets of nuts and washers
@@replumb cool, appreciate the reply

🤣impressive. Thank you for watching
What problem does this fix?
Is your business practice strictly repair work?
That a two inch ?
You make plumbing look fun
It isn't
What bolt cutters are those?
The ones that won't let you take off the 7/16 nut next time you pull that w/c
Flange sits on TOP of the floor per manufacture instructions, there is even a UA-cam video to explain it.

You don’t have to seal between the red spacers and the yellow flange, according to Oatey’s instructions
Wouldn’t back pressure allow leaks between the layers if there’s no seal?
No u don’t
Quality work
Brother, what is that stuff you pour at the beginning?
Liquilock by oatey
@@mrstinky2421seems like the kind of stuff you better pour enough of or else it’s clogging’ the drain

Dopest plumber this side of the Mississippi river
Toilet is blocked now. You didn't rake the rag out 😂
Why not clean up the existing collar if it’s not broken and stack wax rings your using a wax ring anyway
Wax rings don’t adhere to each other very well. This repair will last much much longer

Another comment section inspector huh? We plumbers have a hard time
@@kaydotzjust heat slightly with torch and let them form together.
@@sewerrat7612 Doing all of that is silly...just use the part featured in the video.
Looks like it significantly reduces drain diameter? Then you wind up with no leaks but a problem flushing toilet.
Do you put a wax ring between the original flange and the set rite extension?
It comes with a gasket, but you can also use a wax ring if you prefer
A plumber quoted me $1200 to do this fix 😂😂
Hey boy, where are the voice overs?
It’s a longer video. I already posted the voiceover version as a short👍🏻

No, not too late

Because the repair flanges like he's using are a permanent fix. I have one that's going on 17 years now.
Didn’t even turn the water back on
