I put off purchasing a subscription to Envato Elements, until someone explained (in detail) how the licensing worked. This made it all clear for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I’m definitely subscribing to Envato now!
This is brilliant, it wasn't until about a year ago when Envato started making licensing clear by adding the licensing option to the download box. Now I feel confident about adding a clients company information before downloading it. The only other option I saw in the past was to download the PDF document and save it locally with the client's projects or download it, use it, and cross your fingers :) Thanks for explaining this!
You missed a couple of important things that I think are very crucial to know when doing client work. 1) A project = Final product. You must inform clients that they cannot make changes to the final product, if you do client work. Often clients will re-edit the video themselves or add some stuff, small changes are generally fine (trimming the video or changing the resolution) but it becomes problematic once they add/remove stuff from it, so defo make sure to inform them of this. 2) The stock assets may not be extracted out of the final product in any shape of form. This is really dumb, but on their FAQ it says you cannot upload shorts/reels with just music (without audio on top of it), because it can be remixed. Honestly one of the reasons I'm considering dropping envato one day
hi, i have 2 question: 1- should we get license for our footage used in afe and uploade in youtube? 2- if our subscription end in evanto, doesn't make any problem for previous projects? thank you.
👎 Unfortunately, this video doesn’t bring new information or clarifications. It’s more or less a readout of the license page on Envato's website. The situation/question that brought me here is as follows: I want to download two videos and use them in a series of UA-cam Shorts (create a template and iterate on it). I plan to publish those shorts indefinitely but intend to maintain the subscription for only one month. Can I do that? Do I need to register each short individually? Additionally, I would have liked to see how the registration process works (a demo would have been helpful). Looking forward to some clarifications and/or suggestions. Thank you!
Quick question, I wanna start making reels and short commercials for businesses and also need music for wedding videos. How does my license there protect my clients?
Use each clip once, as Envato outlines. Create a project in your Envato account for each different business client you have, so that when you download the license for that item, the name of that business is in the actual license file. That is what protects them.
Hi, I have question concerning downloading PPT Template for a Client with the clients data is this considered to be altered and for Commercial use allowed by, envato?
Thanks for the video. Just to understand better, if I want to use one single stock video footage inside 10 different youtube videos, I need to create a project for each video (like, "youtube video project 1", "youtube video project 2", etc), download the same video 10 times, and each time Envato is going to provide a license for that single video, with no limitations on the quantity of projects or licenses for each video. Correct?
✨✨✨Hey, great vid. The terms and licensing are a bit confusing on Envato Elements. Quick question, I’m a graphic designer and say if I use a font from Envato Elements and modify it or manipulate or customise it to make the font unique and or a bit different for a client’s brand that I’m getting paid for to be used commercially, can they trademark it, I would send the files as a jpeg not the actual font itself . Is this allowed?✨✨✨

Because what you are selling is the graphic itself that you got from them (assuming you are referring to a graphic), and the graphic is not part of a larger item, for sale. Yes, every video is a 'project'. Re the intro and each element in that intro, I personally would only register the items once, with my UA-cam channel name on the license. That way I don't have to re-license the intro or its elements for every single video.
If you're using it in your own UA-cam videos, and you licensed it with your UA-cam channel name, you don't need to license it again. BUT - If you used in your own content, and you want to then use it for a client, just add another license with your client's name.
Thank you for the video! Quick question... I downloaded images from Envato that I would like to use on my blog. Do I need to include a license attribution on the image or not? If yes, in what form? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on this in the license terms. Thanks!
Sorry if this has already been asked. I want to start a motovlog channel on UA-cam about my motorcycle travels. Can I use Envato music without licensing issues?
if I used the music I paid for it in my indie film for film festivals around the world on many years of screening , will I have a problem or it's fine ?

They really offer good stuff but the licensing stuff makes its a bit complicated. Though I understand you will need to add a new license everytime you will re-use an item. I may need to compare other competitors.
So if I download a 4 second sound effect from Envato Elements and get a license by adding it to my "logo reveal" project, I can't use that same sound effect on multiple video projects? For example, I couldn't add my logo reveal with sound effect to every video I edit and publish on UA-cam.
Yes, you can use it. It is highly unlikely that you will get a claim for a sound effect. And the sound effect is a part of a greater sequence/end-product, which is your intro, so you're totally fine. Also, you have your license file, so you're all good.
Thanks for this video bro. A quick question please!!! I want to download a Template kit for my affiliate marketing website, once I download it..can I keep using it forever for my affiliate marketing website? even after my subscription has ended? Thanks man
Hello please a quick question.if i subscribe to envato and download some transitions for resolve. And next month i unsubscribe. How would i not be able to use them on many different projects? What happens and i cant use them since they are already "attached" in my davinci resolve?
Regarding the downloads and not editing, you mean if download a free web template and want to use it for my website, I’m not allowed to add logo and other stuff ?
Yes you can definitely edit and it and customize it to match your brand. You just shouldn't change it and put it forward as your own. It's just ethics.
If I make a project ‘Skill Tutorial for Instagram’ and then another version of the same video for Tik Tok, so a new export with different dimensions, do I have to register it twice?
I would say use Clause 17 as a guide here: elements.envato.com/license-terms, and also reach out to Envato to see if they can accommodate that for you.
Hello I have a question, For example if I making youtube video for a client and I using a lot of items in it and should I send to my client all licenses of each item I used if there would be an issue of copyrights ?
thanks so much, but please I need to know what happens after I unsubscribe to the items that I already download with the license but I didn't use the item and its license yet? it's okay to use it or I can't?
If the items that you haven't used yet, were licensed before your subscription ended, you're good. If they were not licensed, you cannot use them. You can read more on Envato Elements' license page here: elements.envato.com/license-terms
Yes you can use it on IG and FB, no problem. Once your IG, FB, and YT pages all have the same name or handle, and that page name is in your license, there is nothing to worry about.
Go under My Account, then My Downloads - when you see your items, you should see a button that says Add a License. That's how you register it. There is also prompt that comes up every time you download an item. Let me know if this helps.
To verify, I can use Envato's plugins, transitions, titles, and effects for my stories and Instagram and TikTok posts even if I am no longer subscribed?
Hello.. i download AE Template from Element Envato, then i edited for my client.. but my client will use that for Television.. is it okay for the license? thank you
Yes. If it is the intro, outro, or some other item within your larger edit. They have it under item number 5 on their licensing page: elements.envato.com/license-terms
I have a question. It wasn't too clear for me. Let's say i downloaded a video template for DaVinci Resolve and then i unsubscribed. I can still use that video template, but i can only use it once in one of my future videos ?
Yes once you register a license, you can use an item after your subscription ends. And for your other point, everything on Envato is under a single-use license. Read more here: elements.envato.com/license-terms
Hey Everyone! I want to ask something what if i download a video template let's i like Glitch Transitions If i download and use in premiere pro what would be the licence process? I mean should i download and registered licence for each video where i use glitch transition??? Normally youtube doesn't send copyright strike for Transitions etc please someone explain this...
If you are using it under your own UA-cam channel, register the project as your channel name. If it's for a client, register the use under the client's name. You only need to do this once, so register accordingly. You're also correct, UA-cam will not send you a claim for a glitch transition. But please make it a habit to register every item you download from Envato Elements. Let me know if this helps.
Right click on it, and look for the something like Extract, or Unzip. Maybe you need to download WinRar, it's free and it is the most popular unzipping program.
what happen if Envato Elements subscription over , and if we have downloaded images, is there any issue ? , can we use that image agter subscription over ? and yeah same question for music
Thats the thing how can I know now if in a year that image or sound track or theme will be for something in particular, must registered as how? @@LearnSharePhotoVideo
Im abit confused with licensing it everytime you use an elemant so for example if i add the you tube subscribtion elemant on my youtube channel so if i use that on another video i have to get the license again?
Hi! Can you please explain to me this: I download the template. I use it as an intro on my UA-cam. And I also download some music and use it for my channel. Then I unsubscribe. And I will not be able to use what I have downloaded already for my future videos since I have no longer subscription, right?
If I download an asset I expect to own it afterwards, to use in as many projects as I want, whenever I want. That seems to be a sticking point and why I've been hesitant to hand over my money.
I totally understand this. However, remember that Envato is a "single-use" platform. So for example, you want to use a music track in your own project, let's call it 'project A', you already get that license when you download the file. Then, you get a client, and the music track fits perfectly with what you're doing for them, let's call that 'project B'. Just go back to your account, find that file under 'My Downloads', add a new license to the file, put your client's name in the 'project name' area. I'll make a video on this in the next two weeks and try to tag you in it.
As I said, I expect to be able to use an asset for whatever project I want after paying for one (1) license. So your model doesn't work for my sensibilities.
Thank you for this info! I had a question. If I've been using an end screen template for each of my videos on my UA-cam channel -- does that mean I need to download a license every time I use the end screen template? And if I unsubcsribe to Envato then I won't be able to use the end screen template on future videos, correct? I was having a hard time understanding that. Appreciate the help clarifying this!
Hey, Melissa. Thanks for asking. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the screen template that much, all I would do is register it with my UA-cam channel name as the 'project name'. Also, if you licensed it before you unsubscribed, you're fine. My reason for not worrying about things like an end-screen template is because of the nature of that type of item. It gets used so often. Personally, I wouldn't go in and Add a License for each of my UA-cam videos, that would be overdoing it, in my personal opinion. I looked at the end-screen on your latest video, by the way, very nicely used. Your channel is doing well. It's good to see another Christian creative 🙏🏽
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo So for example: a soundtrack if l licensed before my suscription end no worry or UA-cam demonetizing the vid that includes that track?
Question - if I'm designing a brand and I then use pictures, fonts, etc and register them under the project name, can I then give the license over to my client (for the font for example)?
How does relicensing work? When you pay/download an item and use it for a project, and you then want to reuse it for a different project, do I need to pay for it again to "relicense" it? thanks!
I have a probably also really stupid question. When I create a website design for my client, can I use images from envato without editing them first? Provided that the images are used only for the "end product" of the website. or does that count as distribution of the images which is not allowed?
I would say yes, you can use it on the website. Just be sure to get the license for that image, and make sure your client's name is in the license file. Because the end-product is the website, as your rightly said.
Brother what about After Effects File? if I downloaded a video template and changed everything like images and all. will I still get a copyright strike? please reply
hi sir.. let me just clarify one thing, I'm sorry if I didn't get it. suppose, I unsubscribe after 1, 2, or 3 months, and during those months I have downloaded multiple videos, music, etc., can I still use them for vlogging, or making videos on UA-cam and other platforms?
You have a new sub, the thing my english is limitated; hope you can give me light on this. If I download today a theme, music, picture how can i registered for the future if maybe rigth now still don't know what the project will name, but most important If I have a youtube video upload now with a sountrack and my subscription to envato ends I will be demonetized? New sub from México. In spanish nobody has talking about this.
thanks for the explanation. I have a certain question about the free items Envato gives out every month, are we allowed to use those free items multiple times as long as we register it each time?
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo thank you for the great video. Does this mean once you subscribe you can only use a video clip for one time only and not end up using it twice across 2 projects or in my case, 2 YT videos?

Hey, Gregorio. Based on my personal understanding of the licensing, they can use the music in promo material for their creations, but they cannot sell the music as part of their end product. Read more under Clause 17, on Envato's licensing page: elements.envato.com/license-terms
Hello, thank you for explaining all of that! I have one particular question tho. Can I use items (illustration for example) from Envato for Print On Demand designs? I won't just copy and paste it, but rather I will customize it one way or another, like removing or adding something from/to the illustration?
Hey Deyanch, clause 13 on Envato's license page answers your question perfectly: elements.envato.com/license-terms. Now, my personal response to what you asked - if you change the illustration that much that it is totally different from the initial illustration from Envato, you should be fine, because you customized it and made it your own. Let me know if any of this helps.
That looks to be true as long as it is registered as a project with the site under whatever it is. Like if it's an intro and or outro. Then when you unsub u can still use it and use it in more than one video as long as u don't change the intro/outro. The biggest kinda gotcha kinda thing is the music, you cant use it live like on a TV, Twitch, etc(there may be more to that). But you can use it in a UA-cam video if its not the main draw of the video. It is also available for use in films I believe but I'll have to do more reading.
Hello, a freelancer produced a video for my YT channel and it has copyright music in it. They gave me the license they bought. Of course, the name on the license is their name and not mine. I have to "sign" to continue with the dispute. I feel like if I sign with their name (the licensee), YT will punish me. What do I do?
if we create a logo using multiple different, individually licensed pieces (ie. a font, various vectors etc.) to create something new - can our client, whose name is on the licenses under us, trademark that logo? thanks!
Based on what I read under Clause 15 on Envato's licensing page, (elements.envato.com/license-terms) I would say 'no' to the trademarking. Try creating something more unique, or create your own version/derivative of something that you saw and liked - this is also perfectly fine. Let me know if this helps.
You skipped over the broadcast use part of the music license which is kind of feeling like a dealbreaker for me and my team. We produce a lot of local TV and radio spots and need an asset library that lets us use elements for all our work not just a fraction of it. Super disapointing.
You can use items for broadcast, you just have to contact Envato before use, because that requires special permissions. See item 17a, here: elements.envato.com/license-terms
For example ( If I downloaded a template for my client) And I wanted to use the same template for another client Does it mean that I need to register both clients on the website?

@@newtut2398 That is a very valid question. I am not sure what to do in that situation and I hope that doesn't happen. However, the only thing you can do for now is register in the client's name.
If I make a video intro for a client, everytime the client uploads a new video with the same intro, *I* have to register its use with envato? That's a ridiculous requirement. They might as well say not for use in video intros or outros. This is why I don't subscribe to them.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo 2:42 can you kindly expand on this. You say you can download elements from envato and make them available to be used by your community for free. That's great to hear Aaron, thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
do I need to write author's name copyright under photo if I use photos from envato to my blog?
No.
Can I use the mock-ups for my shopify store?
As long as you are not selling the mock-ups themselves, then yes. See clause 13, on Envato's license page: elements.envato.com/license-terms
Hey mate great video, May I use envato music for the intro of my podcast with a license for the track of course? cheers mate
What about PS actions ? can we use them on several images after lets say unsubscribing? Thank you!
Thanks for this video bro. A quick question please!!! I want to download a Template kit for my affiliate marketing website, once I download it..can I keep using it forever for my affiliate marketing website? even after my subscription has ended? Thanks man
Is the Template Kit like a website template?
What about merchandising projects, can i use a typeface downloaded from envato for merch?
Hello please a quick question.if i subscribe to envato and download some transitions for resolve. And next month i unsubscribe. How would i not be able to use them on many different projects? What happens and i cant use them since they are already "attached" in my davinci resolve?
It is not that you technicaly can't, but you are not allowed to use it anymore. It becomes piracy.
Regarding the downloads and not editing, you mean if download a free web template and want to use it for my website, I’m not allowed to add logo and other stuff ?
Yes you can definitely edit and it and customize it to match your brand. You just shouldn't change it and put it forward as your own. It's just ethics.
Envato elements should use your video as license tutorial , thanks
That would be great! 😄
If I make a video for instagram(reels) and I want to post the same video on UA-cam (shorts) do i have to license it again?
No.
Hi greetings, am chatting from Ghana, what happened to the Envato elements website?
What happened? Is it not working for you?
If I make a project ‘Skill Tutorial for Instagram’ and then another version of the same video for Tik Tok, so a new export with different dimensions, do I have to register it twice?
No.
you cant use envato elements music/audio on any social platform, including YT unless the account is set to PRIVATE! WTF...
Can we use it license for dubbed movies for UA-cam/ satellite TV?
I would say use Clause 17 as a guide here: elements.envato.com/license-terms, and also reach out to Envato to see if they can accommodate that for you.
Hello I have a question, For example if I making youtube video for a client and I using a lot of items in it and should I send to my client all licenses of each item I used if there would be an issue of copyrights ?
That is correct. You both should have a copy of the licenses.
If I registered license in my UA-cam channel name then does that mean i don’t have to re license that particular template or audio?
No you don't have to.
thanks so much, but please I need to know what happens after I unsubscribe to the items that I already download with the license but I didn't use the item and its license yet? it's okay to use it or I can't?
If the items that you haven't used yet, were licensed before your subscription ended, you're good. If they were not licensed, you cannot use them. You can read more on Envato Elements' license page here: elements.envato.com/license-terms
Hallo sir, i wanna ask, how many device can i login in one account
I have mine logged in on 3 devices.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo so 3 devices max ? i found thread that say can do 5, Is it true

Hi!
If i use envato element in my UA-cam video, can I use a part of video in instagram or facebook or I must have new license for them too ???
Yes you can use it on IG and FB, no problem.
Once your IG, FB, and YT pages all have the same name or handle, and that page name is in your license, there is nothing to worry about.
where can I register my downloads , the register here button is invisible
}
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo Thank you for the reply.
@@RUSH_MACH1NE you're welcome.
Question….how do I unzip a file that I download from Envato Elements?
Right click on it, and look for the something like Extract, or Unzip. Maybe you need to download WinRar, it's free and it is the most popular unzipping program.
what happen if Envato Elements subscription over , and if we have downloaded images, is there any issue ? , can we use that image agter subscription over ? and yeah same question for music
You can still use them once you've registered them.
For something of the nature of a subscribe pop-up, once you license it to your channel name, you will be fine.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo does it work the same for transitions?
So your model doesn't work for my sensibilities.
really helpful!!! thank you
You're very welcome 🙏🏽
Where to get a copy of my licence from envato?
On your Downloads page: elements.envato.com/account/downloads. Then look beside each item, you'll see a 'Download License' button.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo thanks. I got it
Question - if I'm designing a brand and I then use pictures, fonts, etc and register them under the project name, can I then give the license over to my client (for the font for example)?
Yes. The client's name being in the license file is what protects them.
Thank you!
You're welcome@@Sharagua
How does relicensing work? When you pay/download an item and use it for a project, and you then want to reuse it for a different project, do I need to pay for it again to "relicense" it? thanks!
To add a new license, just go to your Downloads page and find the item you want to license, the click Add License.
Hey John! If you registered each of those items before your subscription expired, then yes, you are fine. Watch 3:29 in the video.
Can I use a envato element graphic to construct my cover book ? my book I intend to sell, print and E-book version, the License cover ?
Yes. You can use graphic items from Envato to construct your book cover. See clause 13 on this page: elements.envato.com/license-terms
thanks for the explanation. I have a certain question about the free items Envato gives out every month, are we allowed to use those free items multiple times as long as we register it each time?
Everything on Envato Elements is single-use. Here is an article to their free file policies: elements.envato.com/free-files-single-use-policy
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo thank you for the great video. Does this mean once you subscribe you can only use a video clip for one time only and not end up using it twice across 2 projects or in my case, 2 YT videos?
I'm working in a start up and where a develop a game plataform, that allow user to create their own games and sell it inside our plataform, Can I download some music from envato elements and put on my plataform and allow users to use this music in their own videos ? the final product is the game not the music. obs: this a adult plataform.
Hey, Gregorio. Based on my personal understanding of the licensing, they can use the music in promo material for their creations, but they cannot sell the music as part of their end product. Read more under Clause 17, on Envato's licensing page: elements.envato.com/license-terms
"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established."
So once I create an template for my UA-cam channel, can I unsubscribe and continue to use that template for my future UA-cam channel
It is also available for use in films I believe but I'll have to do more reading.
hi! If i download an asset from envato, where can i see the license that is registered to the project?
I made an entire video just to answer your specific question: ua-cam.com/video/1ydXQsYKuSE/v-deo.htmlsi=ps5_BlPHNzHOyde1
Is it more often to get copyright strikes/claim on audio content than visual content?
In my experience, yes. I've never gotten a claim on a visual item, such as a video template, or stock photo/footage.
Hello, a freelancer produced a video for my YT channel and it has copyright music in it. They gave me the license they bought. Of course, the name on the license is their name and not mine. if we create a logo using multiple different, individually licensed pieces (ie. a font, various vectors etc.) to create something new - can our client, whose name is on the licenses under us, trademark that logo? thanks!
Based on what I read under Clause 15 on Envato's licensing page, (elements.envato.com/license-terms) I would say 'no' to the trademarking.
Try creating something more unique, or create your own version/derivative of something that you saw and liked - this is also perfectly fine.

I was doing livestream and my channel blocked for violation of copyright
Who issued the copyright? What item in the video got claimed? The music?
You skipped over the broadcast use part of the music license which is kind of feeling like a dealbreaker for me and my team. We produce a lot of local TV and radio spots and need an asset library that lets us use elements for all our work not just a fraction of it. Super disapointing.
You can use items for broadcast, you just have to contact Envato before use, because that requires special permissions. See item 17a, here: elements.envato.com/license-terms
@LearnSharePhotoVideo I did attempt to contact envato. The response was "you cannot use music for broadcast." Really disappointed
For example ( If I downloaded a template for my client)
And I wanted to use the same template for another client
Does it mean that I need to register both clients on the website?
Yes. Registering both clients is as simple as going back to your Downloads page, and clicking Add License.
Hey! I am a freelancer subscribed to envato elements and have a paying client that has youtube channel. Im doing videos for him. What should be the “registered project name” for my client (sublicensing)? Should it be the name of his UA-cam channel or what? Thanks!
Hey there, friend. Yes, use the client's UA-cam channel name.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo I’m worried what if there are other people the same name as my client? How does my client be sure that the sublicensed project name can be for him ALONE? Thanks for responding!
No you don't need to do that. Just register it once, under the client's name.
@@LearnSharePhotoVideo 2:42 can you kindly expand on this. You say you can download elements from envato and make them available to be used by your community for free. BUT, if a community member hires you to design something, can you use those same elements for the work your community members ask of you? What if the agreement between you and your community member for that task is $0?
To expand on what I would like to do, is help gig workers promote themselves and would like to use a monthly sub to envato to personalize the elements to their business and do this work for them for free. Can I do that?
Still vague on print on demand
You can use items for printing. Let's say for example, the item is an icon of a flower.
You cannot print the item itself, onto a t-shirt. It has to be a part of a larger design, not solely of the flower. You can get more detail here on item 14 & 15.
