You couldn't do a better video for this song, which definitely deserved to become a single off True Blue! I love how you visually incorporated the infamous quote at the beginning and interspersed the live performance with some scenes from White Heat and Dick Tracy. Props on you for the job 😍👏🔝
I was so very young when i was listening to this song over and over on the cassette I got from my father, back in 80's. Pure magic, in every which way!
Great song. Agree it is probably the best on that album. This is actually my favorite Madonna incarnation - the late 80's, from True Blue through to Like a Prayer. Very melodious, lots of fun.
@@martinanugent5045 But, Michael had written "Smooth Criminal" at the time. Michael held back the release of Bad to not take thunder from Janet Jackson's Control album, which was released in 1986; plus, he was beginning work on the Moonwalker film, which coincided w/ Bad in 1987 (and included the long segment, "Smooth Criminal"). I'd say it's a great coincidence that 2 icons of the 1980s both had a strong interest in the 1930s/1940s gangster eras, and that it led to both creating memorable songs, though, with different meanings behind each. Then, not long after, Madonna co-stars as a Femme Fatale in Dick Tracy, and Mike works on a song called, "The Blue Gangster" for a character that would have been featured in his future tour.
I didn’t know that MJ held back his BAD album release do that his sister Janet could be given the opportunity to shine. That sounds like something he would probably do. I miss MJ so much.
I've heard that Jimmy Cagney opening for years on the TRUE BLUE album, but I never saw the clip until now. In fact, I never even thought to SEARCH for that clip until today! Thank you for this great edit! Madge herself would be proud!
A copper. How do ya like that boys, a copper. And we went for it, I went for it Treated him like a kid brother And I was gonna split fifty-fifty with a copper. They were there waitin' to pin a medal on him "Come on get up, get your hands up!" Yeah, that's it, a nice gold medal for the copper Only maybe he's gonna get it sooner than he thinks! To everyone: Madonna was named after Michaelangelo's masterpiece: The Madonna, a beautiful marble statue of Mary holding the infant Jesus in her arms. It's located in a chapel at France. See Monuments Men.

I tell my daughter that how she feels about the silly singers of today is only a fraction of what I felt for Madonna. She was and is the originator!
Me too I felt like no one loved Madonna like I did as a kid....but I'm glad my 13 yr old daughter loves MJ lol
Sliczny kawałek.Piekną masz twórczość Madonna

Madonna sounded at her best on this album. Her voice was on point with this lp. Not nasal or high pitched. She hasn't sounded as good since.
