This series will focus on painting up the Deep Rock Galactic board game pieces included in the Deluxe and Collector's edition. This is "table ready" quality with a mix of Army Painter speed paints, standard paints, and acrylic inks. Miniature quality will be better with the official game, these are from my Creality LD0002H resin printer.

This was a fun one to experiment and try to understand more uses for inks and glazes. Pretty happy with the end result. Enjoy!
Looks great! What's that little rotating base that you've got it stuck on? Can I get those somewhere?
There are two versions. The wooden one. amzn.to/3CE01mm and the plastic one. amzn.to/41ZtQIp
Great end result!
Thank you!
love your intros by the way... Rock and Stone! Another great one, nice glow on the blister thingies. Like the red ink under the brown will try that too
haha thanks. I'll be sad when I move onto the next painting series after this. I don't think I can use "Rock and Stone" for Darkest Dungeon or Skyrim :(
@@hopelesshobbyaddict yeah its hard to beat and it "...never gets old"
Thank you for all your serie. I watched everything and this one helped me the most to paint my exploders !
I appreciate the kind words. This was probably the one I was happiest with so far. Glad to know they are helping some people get some ideas. :)
These are incredible
Hey Ken! Getting ready to do my exploders. Any thoughts on how to do this without the mediums/glazes that you used? I've finished up the web spitters and mactera spawns by following your videos for those, and they turned out great.
I have a few yellows, oranges, and reds (not speedpaints); and some red, black, and brown washes. I think it's gonna largely be a bunch of mixing and blending with those, but I wondered if you had any advice. Thanks!
@@dandykstra5193 you can get a small bottle of the Vallejo Glaze Medium pretty cheap, and if you us that, or maybe just water thin, some of those yellows/oranges I bet you could still glaze up an effect similar to what I did. I'm definitely digging into using more ink and paint glazes after doing this series because I see the potential there. Dana Howl's channel had some older stuff from a few years back on glazing as well. I'd definitely say watch some of those.
How did you prime the model?
Andre- For this video it was just a rattle can white, because Army Painter Speed Paints recommends white, which also helped give the bright tops on those exploder mounds. That being said, I might try slapchop when I paint up the official mini's from the game and put some extra white on those domes as I dry brush. Great video for priming, and comparing how it will effect speed paint, would be Brent @goobertownhobbies video here if you haven't seen it. ua-cam.com/video/gT2JV3Ks41g/v-deo.html
@@hopelesshobbyaddict ty very much, I was thinking about slap chopping as well. All I have are citadel contrast paints though. Just got my box in today.
@@andremartinez5307 I just redid the footage for the Episode 1 Gunner and did a slapchop for him, hopefully post that up over the weekend. It turned out pretty good, so even though it's more prep work up front with the drybrush, I might keep using it. My Speedpaint 2.0 box is arriving today. I'll be interested to see if Army Painter really fixed it up.
@@hopelesshobbyaddict excellent, I look forward to it.
