Back when the seats where full.
Its a amazing. How much of a beast. He was. All this on coke.
I was nine years old and this series broke my heart so bad...the Mets were definitely the best team but Orel and the Dodgers just got on one of those magical runs...it was a great story but a Mets A's World Series would have been epic.
Davey Johnson.........
Doc never won a playoff game, even though he pitched fantastic in many of them (especially in 86 and 88 with the Mets).
That’s an incredible stat
in 2 NLCS with the Mets he pitched 35.1 innings... 2.04 era. but 0-1
Docter K"...Strike outs was his thing. Sit em down! Classic!
I miss those days
Comforting to see that even back in the 80s the Mets weren’t able to score enough to get their ace a W
Mets should have won that series.
Would be cool to have dwight Gooden on the show mlb game his stats as a rookie a pitcher on your team all star winning rings hall of fame lol ha ha
should have out one at Sciosia’s head. Who knew?
Doc was the second coming.
No he’s not. Please don’t disrespect Our Lord Jesus Christ by comparing a human to Him. No one can and should ever be compared to God.
What kind of pitcher Gooden Was?Power or Finesse?
Thats a great question. Each has an argument
Kenny Powers .. power... easily
He looked too scrawny to be a power pitcher. Then again, look at David Cone.
Early in his career Gooden was a pure power pitcher. But eventually he was taught to pitch to contact. The Mets coaches felt it would save his arm. In retrospect probably a mistake.
