Adding roof water to a french drain? I was under the impression you were trying to dry out the sub surface and surface area between the homes? Can you explain why the downspout isnt in its own solid pipe to keep water from being drained into a spot you are tying to dry out? thanks

Nice videos, I live in the north and was wondering what's the best way to determine if you need just a yard drain tied with downspouts or if I need just a French drain, also do I always want to tie in downspouts into a yard drain system or French drain system?

Very helpful video! What was the reason for putting the white rocks on top of the catch basins?
Are the rocks supposed to stay or be removed later?

Thanks for watching! The rocks help filter out debris, mainly large clumps of mud from excavating the dirt. They can be removed as long as the landscapers keep the basins from becoming overgrown!
