  • When we purchased our new Montana 5th wheel we immediately missed the backup camera we had on the unit we traded. We have been using Haloview RV camera systems for a number of years and had hopes there would be a solution for our Montana. But, we had a challenge. Our 5th wheel is 42 feet long and when coupled to our F-350 we have a distance of 54 feet from the back of the RV to the dash of the truck. Most RV wireless camera systems have an operating distance limit of 33 feet, which has now been remedied with the release of the extended range Haloview Byte Tango 7 RV Cameras. With our Montana 5th wheel prewired for a backup camera, this installation could not have been easier.

    I love my Haloview. Matter of fact, your review of Haloview about two years ago is one of the reason I went with Haloview. I have also added the two side marker lights cameras and I use a tag camera in my bed to watch as I hook up to my gooseneck ball. Thanks Jerry.

    Great review Jerry! I appreciate the time you took to do it. I just went on their website to order a unit for my Cedar Creek 5’er and they’re all sold out right now. I’ll keep checking back and get one when it’s back in stock.
    Safe travels!

    Excellent review. Very clear and helpful.The BT7 should be the best wireless observation camera on the market so far. I will seriously consider investing in one.

    Great review Jerry. I had no idea this product was available. I just installed ‘that other brand’ on my 37’ 5th wheel with the 7” monitor. I am happy with it, mostly because it’s the first time I’ve used one. I would have opted for the high power observation system had I known it existed. Thanks for your excellent content.

    Sure glad I watched your video. I tested the rear cameraI before install to make sure it worked with the monitor. However, I ran into trouble installing the rear view camera to the pre-wire Furion female connector using the provided BT7 BMW cable. Could not figure out why the rear camera would not function while the 2 side cameras did. After several attempts to troubleshoot the problem, I suddenly remembered that you mentioning checking cable polarity. I assume the Furion cable was properly installed on my Keystone Cougar 24RDS. Wrong! Testing the female connector showed there was current, but I realized the polarity was reversed (poor factory workmanship). I had to cut the wire and make the proper connections to get the camera to connect with the display monitor. Thank you so much for your thoroughness.

    I bought a Keystone Bullet a few months ago to replace our old Gulfstream. We took our new acquired camera with to the dealers and installed it ourselves before the trip back home. I love it as a rear view camera. As a car disappears from view he is picked up on my outside mirror, so I never lose sight of a passing car. I have a different make than yours, but is very similar.

    I just received my BT7 system today. In my research, Haloview has a Blind Spot detection system that you can mount on your trailer. The blind Spot system will work with the three camera system (rear camera he installed, and the side cameras to reduce the blind spot on your bigger trailers). The Blind Spot sensor will trigger the side view camera on the side that the vehicle enters your blind spot to automatically show that camera view on the monitor. This is the trigger cable on the camera. My camera system is going on my 2022 Alliance Valor 44' toy hauler. I am so glad they have a system that does not need the wired extension antenna for the camera.
    Haloview has a rear view mirror mount that will mount the monitor on your rear view mirror. When you have a large trailer behind you, you do not use the rear view mirror, so hang it there. I got that mount for my truck. Keeps the clutter on the dash down a bit.

      Hi Scott. We’re having good results with our BT7. We’ve added second camera and have a video we’ll share in an upcoming video. I saw the Blind Spot Detector. May add in the future.

    Great review and the timing is perfect. I have been searching for a rear observation camera for our class A. The rear view camera we have is great for backing up, but inadequate to use while driving down the road. A unit I tried had the cigarette lighter power supply for the monitor, but required you to press the button on the end of the plug to view. After about 90 seconds, the screen would go dark & I would have to press again to view. Does the BT7 require a refresh or does the screen continue as long as power is available?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  2 роки тому

      Hi Mark and thanks. The BT7 reviewed is a very different system than what you have. The monitor is powered from the a 12V accessory or cigarette lighter power port. Press on, turn on monitor and it stays on until powered off. We just drove 800 miles and the monitor was on the entire time with the back camera providing a rear view. No refresh required.

    Hello! Just came across your channel and love it. Question for you...can I just just cut a hole below the light and run wire for the running light to the hole or do I have to get the camera with the red light or would that be best thanks

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Місяць тому

      Thanks. Glad you found us. Either option would work. The drilling hole may be a bit of a task depending on the construction of your RV and fishing the wire from the existing light to the hole. The unit with the light might take minutes to install. Just replace old with new and connect two wires.

    I wasn’t as fortunate as you were with the Haloview RD7 system. I will add that their tech support was excellent and worked with me numerous times. My fifth wheel is only 34’. But the lag on my rear camera is so bad that when the car is beside me, almost ready to pass me, it is still behind me in the monitor. Totally unsafe. The two side cameras only work when I am still. Once I start moving one side no longer connects. I have just had problem after problem with this system. Haloview has replaced antennas and side cameras, but they have not solved the issues and over time the issues have gotten so bad that I can no longer use the system.
    I received a new Vision Works system from TechnoRV today and will be installing it this weekend. The specs are very similar between these brands. But the Vision Works is several hundred dollars more. I lost all confidence in the Haloview system and simply wasn’t willing to purchase another of their products. I hope your system continues to work extremely well.
    Did you ever try Haloview’s rear view mirror mount? I have been using it for almost two years. Solves your dash crowding issue. Highly recommend this accessory, although I do not know if it is compatible with the new monitor.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  2 роки тому

      Sorry to hear of the problems. We used the RD7 with the back up and side cameras for 2 years and never had an issue. We left installed when we traded earlier this year. We installed the Handy 7 on my daughter’s RV and they have been using for over a year with no issues. We tested the rear view mirror and it worked well. We gave it away in a drawing.

      @@iLoveRVlife I did have the TST and Haloview repeater next to one another. The Victron Battery Monitor and Victron Bluetooth dongle and LevelmatePro are only a few feet away. It is possible that the five devices were causing interference with one another. Now that I won’t need the Haloview repeater, maybe I won’t have issues with the Vision Works system. Will know this weekend. I might need to move a few devices if I can determine if they are interfering with one another.
