I have ALWAYS wanted to try something like a Baguley or Electric. They look and sound so rad. And of course it's Simon's, that dude has the sickest taste in gear! My question is, how has the stability been versus a wooden neck? Do they never move lol
Buzzo from the Melvins uses Tom Anderson aluminum neck guitars. Also, back in the 90's there was a band called Tar that used custom aluminum guitar & bass.
@@TaylorDanley I would imagine that they aren't very common due to the fact that since the neck is metal, I can't imagine what temperature changes would do to the tuning stability.
I saw this guitar over on Simon's Instagram and immediately loved it. The neck is killer, but the coolest part, to me, is that super simple single humbucker gloss charcoal frost painted offset body. Dope axe.
other than the sustain, it sounds like any other guitar. the fact of the matter is, solid body electric guitars almost completely sound the same once you add any amount of gain to them. ive taken all my guitars and have ran them through the same amp/cab config and recorded them and a/b them. no difference. this guitar sounds just as good as any other modern cnc guitar. Glenn Fricker and Jim Lill have done extensive tests to confirm this. The guitar seems really cool, i'd love to try one out. I also want to try out one of those carbon fiber guitars. but ultimately, playability and tuning stability are the most important factors when picking out a guitar.
I agree and the neck on this thing is the most important reason to buy one, you NEVER will need to adjust or worry about bowing or headstock breaking (Gibson). If I had money I’d drop the money on buying one of these necks
What tuning? Just got rid of a Mike Mushok 27.75” and loved it but already have a few other baritones. 27”, 28.625”, and 30” which after playing baritones I never pick up my 7 strings anymore or 25.5” guitars
Yeah it definitely adds something unique. If you listen to the song back to back with the others I've released on Spotfy, it's a BIG difference in tone.
@@TaylorDanley if you get a chance check out "Oneder pedals Heckboy fuzz/distortion" it sounds to me what a death metal fuzz should sound like.Ive been going down the "Oneder pedals" rabbit hole since last night.lol

Fun fact, this is the second version of this video.. The first time I used the synergy system with the Deliverance preamp... it was killer, but I messed up the audio (whoops), which is why I shot it a second time with a plugin... it made life a lot easier 😂
I'm curious about the claims in this video. From my perspective, it doesn't sound any different from any other guitar I've heard, even the DI. It still just sounds like a guitar with a humbucker in the bridge, but there was no comparison in the video so there's no way to know until then. It definitely looks cool, I like the colour and the simplicity, but I'm not so sure it has any sonic advantages over another guitar. You know what I mean? I'm just over the BS in the guitar realm and want the facts. 😅
If you want a comparison, just listen to the track I made with this vs the others on Spotify. Same guitar signal chain, dramatically different character.
@@TaylorDanley We're also dealing with different tunings as well. You mentioned that you usually play in C standard, whereas this guitar is in dropped G. I wouldn't say it's the fairest of comparisons.
@bjquebedeaux3597 Yeah it's called Aluminati Guitar Company out of Asheville, North Carolina, but the one in this video is made by Electrical Guitar Company out of Irondale Alabama.
@@TaylorDanley oh that makes sense. I'd like to hear what kind of clean you can get from it. I know that pickup isn't suited for it but yeah I got stinky face at that part
I've heard that, but have never seen any evidence of it. I'd really like to know more because I think In Utero is an amazing album (for more reasons than just guitar tone..)
There is a YT channel of a guy who tracked it all down and done a SHIT TON of research on it. Ill see if I can remember the name of it. Wishhed I remembered off hand, he has talked to producers and engineers who worked with him on those songs too, he really figured it out. Ill try to find it man @@TaylorDanley

No wonder Johannes Persson from Cult of Luna and Aaron Turner from ex-ISIS/SUMAC use these necks. I've always wanted one 😢

@voss451 No Buzzo strictly uses Electrical Guitar Company guitars now and has been since 2016 or 2017.
@@watcherzero000 Gotcha. I knew they were aluminum but I thought they were Tom A.

Pretty smart to put a pickup as dark and sludgy as the SLUG into a guitar with a bright aluminum neck.
The combo is insane... we were actually just talking about how much we think each adds to this guitars overall tone.
These are among the best tones you've ever had on this channel imo.

Sounds effin brutal dude! You should make more super low tuned tunes, it works really well with your riffing style
Thanks dude! Yes, that is potentially on the horizon. I have my 7 string Agile in the guitar rack now for that reason 👀

What a cool axe! Who needs a neck pickup, anyway? 👍
This is cool ...just plug into power section of any amp and get a great tone...that's where they shine...and for recording
So it's quite literally a *Heavy Metal* guitar 🤘🔥🎸
LITERALLY
Well this sure as shit took me by surprise

Kramer made these back in the eighties. I loved how the bass guitars sounded.

Crazy good! If you want an aluminium neck guitar, check TIDES guitars, made in France, one third the cost of an EGC guitar. I bought two from TIDES

Hi buddy love ya vids I had a Kramer vee back in the 80s that was a aluminam neck what a guitar that was \m/
I'm so surprised I've never heard or tried one until now... I had some aluminum picks in the 90's, but those things kind of sucked
i opened it and was immediately like oooiOOOoooOooooOOOOOHHHHhhh
😂 it was the only way I could open this video lol
Has an almost blended piezo sound.
Yeah I could see that!
Sluglord sounds like a Conan Custom who play in drop F
Suh-weeeeet! Looks like that can handle doom/stoner metal quite well!
Yassss I’m about the new demo song idea! It’ll challenge you to be a better artist. This is something I should do.
Yep! More on this soon!!!
The guitar looks sweet and the riffs are 🫠
Love the simple look 🤘
Simon has taste!
I NEED ONE WITH A FLOYD AND SUSTAINIAC!!!!
Thats the tone wood int he neck in action.
Iwant to see what a titanium neck or even a steel one would sound like. brass??
Good question. I guess TONE METAL is the next hot topic in the guitar community lol.
That sounds raunchy. I love it!
GORGUTS!
the color is horrendous but otherwise it’s really sick and i want one in black

Yes the man himself. One of my favorite persons.
