- In this video, I retry to survive as Denmark in hoi4, but with a twist. My comment section will help me. This video uses all hoi4 dlc up to By Blood Alone.

Great video! I know not many people care for defensive strategies, but I actually enjoyed this quite a bit.
Something that you should start doing is to draw offensive lines when you set up a frontline order. In that way it helps with your planning.
I've been trying experimenting with actual tank divisions seeing as I never really learned tanks or how to set up the templates effectively (I have 1000 hours would you believe lmao)
You can do an early game spaa tank spam that helps a ton and is cheap.
I also like a really early light tank template that just uses the base template and you just add spaa and sp artillery and max armor and engine that you start with for them. Not the best template but for early wars it's great and has decent armor considering
I definitely gotta play around with tanks more, I don’t do it nearly enough.
whats the benefit to spaa/sp artillery/ artillery tanks? I never use them because id rather have full on tanks being built up than light artillery ones that will be phased out very quickly. Example is I tried a light tank build as czechoslovakia and they got outmatched as early as 1939 from simple infantry.
@@joebidengaming6329 light tanks aren't really used for breakthrough against majors like Germany but are quite effective in smaller nations, but I guess if you find a gap in a front line you could rush through and capture points letting your other units move up.
Depending on what role you assign a tank it actually gets a bonus. I'm pretty sure artillery tanks get soft attack (for light tanks just use close support gun as it's cost effective and you can make a ton), AA get amazing piercing and anti air which is great against a nation's with a better airforce (they are also cheapest and have a good armor rating making them good for your initial space marine templates if you like that sorta thing, just slap on an aa gun and a 2 man turret, 4 engine and armor and mass produce them, they also shred air) , flame tanks (only ever use medium as they're superior) give good terrain bonuses as support but you can make cheap ones for frontline divisions, they are dirt cheap for light tanks and give attack bonuses on forts and in jungles and forests I believe.
AT or tank destroyers do what they are named. They have high armor and piercing rating, I've found medium or heavies work better for this sort of tank as the armor rating prevents them from being pierced and their heavy cannons can pierce easier and get more breakthrough.
I'm by no means a pro but this is what I've found. With the new DLC however some of these values would probably have changed such as armor I believe
Awesome vid! These historical videos are very fun to watch (even if they might be kinda boring to play.)
I enjoy making them so I’ll definitely keep it up!
deserves more views and subs, amazing vids ^^
Glad I could help a bit (Also I should have recommended field hospitals they save manpower)
I’m pretty anti field hospital lmao. I’m convinced they are a waste of production.
I recommend using SPAA to reduce cas effectivness in battles, overall that makes them more cost effective
I haven’t built a single spaa div in my 3k hours lmao. Are they really that good?
@@thetibbiesshow feedback gaming made a video competing every possible tank and SPG for space marine, overall SPAA is always most effective, at the start of the game till I think 39 light is best but as time goes on heavier tanks are more effective
@bilecikidokatroli6312 I love learning new things about this game. I definitely gotta try spaa now.
i rushed industry and anti air and i survived till the germans capped... i def got lucky but was also my first try, at like 1943 or something i got tanks and pushed them back a bit (also no spies apparently)
naval inasion of kiel!!!!
Hot take: get the DLC?
I’m just about to try it. Very very excited!
@@thetibbiesshow very excited to see the videos! 😁😁😁
What do you mean with space marines?
Infantry division with a single tank battalion. The tank has high armor which prevents the infantry from being pierced and pushed. It’s massively OP for holding the line.
Thx, i have to try that!

Making tanks was a really good idea, since divisions without anti-tank guns couldn't do as much damage to tanks as they did to regular infantry
Yup, and the cost of the second anti tank upgrade is just so expensive. So much Chromium, Tungsten, and steel? Yeah, not worth it. But tanks? I’m starting to understand their use now.
