I ordered this same crossbow today. Shoulder surgery from a couple years ago has slowed down my practice time with my compound bow and my ability to hold steady with that 70lb draw weight for very long so I figured I’d give crossbows a try. Thank you so much for this real unboxing video. Mine should be here by next Wednesday. Hopefully mine shoots as good as yours does! Good luck this deer season sir!
Thank you for watching, i have been blessed with success each year with this crossbow, it still shoots great and in still happy with it other than the quiver. I also have shoulder problems and my compound bow now just sits in its case. God bless and i wish you a successful season coming up.
@@medlensoutdoors Thank you and I wish you lots of luck and I hope you get that big buck you are chasing this season! Safe travels and god bless you my friend
I bought this same crossbow a few months ago, just before hunting season with the expectation of going out this year. New to it all too. However, a decision to move and Christmas delayed thus year's season hunt. Oh, well, next year. Thank you. The video will be a great help when I unbox once we are unpacked Happy New Year.😊
Good luck with the move, merry Christmas and a happy new year to you. Thank you for watching. I did get a nice buck this year with it and have bite taken down a deer or two a year since i have baught it, i have another video of me getting my 7 point with my barnett this year, check it out if you have time. God Bless
@@medlensoutdoors the video explained everything perfectly. I was looking for a video to show me what to do so I can get it all together once it arrives.
Barnett Str is one nice shooting xbow. You just have the wrong bolts. It calls for 22 inch bolts not 20 inch for broadhead clearance. Just something I noticed. Happy Hunting
Agree, as I've mentioned in other comments after double checking the website it does say that 20" bolts can be used on this model, thanks for watching and the comment.
I checked the website and says that you can also use the 20 inch bolts with this crossbow. But thank you. I would not use them if it would be a problem. Thank you for watching.
From the web site We recommend using 22-inch (479 grain) carbon PileDriver arrows from Carbon Express. You can also use 20-inch arrows with this crossbow.
No crank with this one, yes I have used it every year since I purchased it and taken deer every year. Thank you for watching. Check out the video of my 7 point. I use the crossbow in that video
I would contact the manufacturer to confirm our take to a bow tech and have the make sure the other threads are not messed up. I don't know that information
I've had the same bow for about 3 years. Have an interesting issue right now. Can you tell me with your new bow if the strings are 100% inline with the cam's channels (the groove where the strings would travel into when you shoot)? As i look at mine the strings are not. I went to Dick's sporting goods where they had a brand new bow and i looked at that one and even with that one the strings were not 100% inline/ parallel with the string's channels in the cams although not as bad as mine. Strange that even looking at the brand new bow that the string wasn't 100% even with the cam.
@@medlensoutdoors thank you. I think I may have damaged my own cams with what sounded like a dry fire but wasn't (still don't know what happened). But the biggest question mark in my mind was why they were not straight on the bow in the store. I found a video on UA-cam that shows someone trying out his new hunter str and from looking at his video his looks 100% straight.
So i posted a couple pictures in the community page i have of strings and cables. All straight buddy. It is not at draw but if you check out my shorts videos you can see them there at draw. I got this helps but sound like the bushing in the cams are weak.
Yes sir website even says you can use 20 inch bolts I've used it since I bought the thing and I've killed 1 or 2 deer a year since I baught it. If you couldn't use them i would have said so, i don't want to miss lead anyone. Merry Christmas
What bow were you using before this one? Wondering what bow held up for over 20 years. I have a Hoyt carbon spider turbo and it looks like it could last forever.
Darton, i could still use it now except my shoulder won't let me or i would use it. Thanks for the comment. And thanks for watching. Good luck this season.
Just ordered my Barnett Whitetail and believe your video will help. Thank you Did you end up moving your quiver to the other side? Thanks again, Mr. Bill
I wanted to thank you for watching the video... now that it has been one year that i have had it two bow seasons, i have taken Two deer with it. I'm still pleased with my purchase.
@@jfree1573 i have a small potable target i keep in back of my truck and just fire it into that at the end of my hunt, that's also how my buddy does it. Leave one of your bolts with a practice tip on it
@@medlensoutdoors So after you are done hunting for the day, you pull the bolt off and replace it with a target bolt. That seems creepy. I guess I have a lot to learn. What do you think of the hand crank decocking attachment? Would you ever consider one? Thanks Mr. Bill
Very accurate, groups at 20 are hitting each other 50 yards 1 inch groups but I'm not as steady as i used to be. I'm very pleased with this crossbow. Thank you for watching.
That is great to hear. I have been debating getting one but was not sure it would give me any tighter groups than my compound bow. After watching videos and reading reviews I have decided it should be easier to get tight groups with a crossbow
Yes i agree. The shot is way faster and more accurate. I have a bad shoulder and this just works better for me. I think you will be pleased if not this one but another one you will be happy with your purchase. Good luck.
Just got mine planning on using it this fall!! Thanks.
I love mine I hope you do to. Happy hunting and good luck this coming season

Thanks I could not figure out how to get my quiver on. I’ve had my crossbow for like 2 years and always had to carry it.🤣🤦🏻♂️ Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching... mine broke not long after i got it so that's what i do, i carry it. Other than that i love the bow.
Field tips and a expandable Broadhead is gonna fly different even if it’s the same grains
I agree there is a little difference but inside 35-40 yards nothing really changes

Really nice video!! Nice, lowkey, no blaring music and informative.
Thank you for watching and the compliment, i appreciate it.
Great unboxing I just got mine today and first time owner
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video. One of the first videos i made. I've had my cross bow a couple years now and still like it.
There is storage compartment in the buttstock, and a spot to hook up crank cocker.
I will have to check out for the storage compartment.
I don’t think you should use the 20 inch bolts if it calls for 22 inch.

Thinking of getting one !
I don't regret this purchase. Thank you for watching and commenting.
good video. same issue only the lagerest Allen key fits .
Thank you for watching
Also confirming the quiver sucks
You serious is in there crooked very good used to that my friend mine was crooked the rings were offset and not correctly installed but easy fix
Make sure the allen tool is perfect fit before tighten the screw up. 😫
They sent the Allen tool with my purchase
Did you ever get to using it? Has the crank failed in any way?

Didnt mean to type my last comment so i deleted it, my bolt was immediately all stripped out, and i cannot figure out what size the bolt is online

Up to 375' per sec depending on what weight arrow you use

22 " bolts. Dangerous to shoot shorter.

What u pay for it
I got everything, crossbow, extra bolts and broadheads for $490.00
Those 20-inch arrows may be too short for that crossbow. I use the 22-inch arrows which will clear the broadhead from the rail. Good luck!!!
Have about 50 or more shots with the 20 inch and all Is good, thanks for looking out.
