@@ZaggZGuy I'm inclined to agree, although I've also found that grinding magic can trivialize most of the RF2 monsters. I'll give RF1 a fair shot and see how it goes.
RF2 only cause you have the ability to play as the second generation maybe next time we get rune factory generations where the people actually change overtime with a limited amount of generation each generation should be interesting if they go that route.
I know they make the story of seasons games too and wonderful life lets you play as your kid I think. So maybe they will have that option in the next game!
I love RF2, but its gameplay is *rough*

1 Has some tedious gameplay for sure...combat in 2 is very much strategy based. 2 is pretty hard in terms of difficulty aswell. much like RF4.

Is Barrett in 1 and 2? Isnt that his character with the long braid at the beginning?
Nah, he's not in 1, but he does come back as a character in rune factory 3! that's where the long braid version comes from. :)
Rune Factory 3 and 4 are god tier though let be real
